Why would you do that. ;_; Adelle has a ton of potential.

Wait, wait, time out. Who the hell is Lenneth? I'm guessing Ilua, but I don't remember a solo fight. Been clarified now.

As for my Adelle, I immediately changed her from a thief to a Soldier/Fighter/Ninja, so she has the highest attack power out of my group, and currently level 55. But now I'm changing gears and putting her into mage jobs with the ultimate goal of making her a Blue Mage. I think Blue Mage/Heritor or vice-versa would be a pretty good balance.

In fact, why don't we say how we're raising our team? Spoiler-marking special characters, of course.

Luso - Paravir/Thief
Paravir is greatly overrated, but Ninja has terrible skills and I need something faster than a Paladin.

Adelle - Blue Mage/Heritor
See above. Blue Magick rocks.

Noah (Seeq) - Lanista/Ranger
Lanista for regular damage-dealing, but traps and Mirror Item for when I want to get through battles the cheesy way.

Cid - Master Monk/White Monk, usually switched out for someone else
Chakra, Inner Focus, Earth Rend, Pummel, Holy Sign. Ton of great skills in both jobs.

The rest of the party:
Vaan - Sky Pirate/Thief, sometimes switched out for Cid
Speedy item-stealer and trap-disarmer. Flee and Shadow Stalk are prett useful, but sometimes I just prefer Cid's brute force.

Penelo - Spellblade/Dancer
Helloooo status effects.

Al-Cid - Agent
Not much of a choice!

I did too many sidequests before meeting up with Adelle, and she was kind of underleveled compared to the rest of the team. Also, there was a small bit of paranoia stemming from after playing Valkyrie Profile 2 where everybody winds up leaving with half of my stuff. Not good times. I'll probably place her in my secondary team now that I have most of the ability-granting equipment.

Regarding the Name:
I typed the name down wrong. It's Lennart, not Lenneth. Sorry about that.

Spoiler:

Today I just met Ezel on that Alchemist quest!

Anyways, the old fart mentioned Lennart when Addel asked him useless questions.

Lennart = Mewt's red body guard that was turned into stone by Ezel ? IDK, but if it is him it should be kick ass.

I believe you're thinking of Llednar, who isn't in this game. Lennart is just some Hunter with a unique face portrait.

Dang it, I got excited... really exited.

Am I the only one who actually enjoyed FFTA storyline and hated FFTA2 storyline?

FFTA2 seems.... way too short.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I think you're mostly alone in that you liked either of them. The only things those stories have going for them is that their protagonists are assholes ("GET BACK IN THE WHEELCHAIR" and "I HIT GIRLS").

They are both fucking awesome in their own ways, Marche and Luso.

Reporting in that finally after 120 hours, I have completed all 300 missions! Anybody else going for the 300 club?

All I have left to do now is get the 13th and final Scion, which only shows up randomly during the "Of a Feather" monster battle in Goug, or so I'm told. That and climbing those damnable towers. Onward!

I was speaking idiomatically.

If it helps, the name of the quest is "The Eastwatch." I think it shows up either when you're able to fly to Ordalia, or after you already do so (the battle is at the Moorabella aerodome).

I'm at 208 quests completed, but I'm shooting for all 300. Not sure if I care that much about Brightmoon Tor, but I'll probably end up doing it.

The game refuses to end. Really. I got that last scion, so I decided to do Brightmoon Tor and holy shit. It's easy enough because the first three monsters in the first couple floors of the first two towers are only level 50 or so, the top ones are 90 like I said earlier. The problem is they can cast haste/protect/shell on their entire crew and move several times before you at the start of the match.

I highly suggest bringing along a Red Mage/Summoner with Doublecast/Phoenix and an Angel Ring, equipped with Halve MP and Evade Magick. They all have long range spells you'll need dodging. Equip everyone you can with Ribbons and Orb of Minwus. Counter on everyone you're not using as a caster. Once you survive the initial onslaught it more or less becomes reviving everyone that died and taking out the haste casters, then working on the rest. The first two towers are easy enough, the third where the monsters are all level 75 is where it gets tough. The final guardian makes up for it by being a breeze if you're prepared enough.

After that there's "The Final Quest", a five round tourney against all Level 99 teams. The first is of course the Cinquleur, but since they're in close range this time you can pretty much just beat the shit out of them before they start double casting you to death. Second round is more of the same, third round is 2 Beastmasters with a Headless, a > 999HP Drake, and two Sprites. Brightmoon Tor strategy applies here, same with the fourth battle which is A Juggler, a Seer, a Ranger and TWO fucking Tonberry Kings. If you can survive losing at least four people to the 999HP Karma attack, the rest just involves revive and kill. Fifth battle is nothing of note though.

And with that, I am truly finished with FFTA2. Good luck to anyone else going for 100%, you'll need it!

My final 6 Man Team:

Spoiler:

Luso: Level 99 Ninja/Parivir: Dual Wield using Adelles Heritor Masamune and reg. Masamune.

Valentia: Level 88 Red Mage/Summoner: Last Letter/Ribbon/Angel Ring. Evade Magick/Halve MP.

Tym: Level 86 Master Monk/White Monk: Adelle's Whale Whisker / Defense Plus

Jerrog: Level 80 Hunter/White Mage: Seventh Heaven Bow / Angel Ring / Replenish MP / Attack Plus

Adelle: Level 94 Paladin/Heritor: Dual Wield with the Sequencer and The Fallen Angel / Ribbon

Donne: Level 99 Ravager/Raptor: Master Sword / Ribbon / Attack Plus (Sneak Attack + Attack Plus = at LEAST 400 damage on most enemies from behind. Use this!)

All job classes listed here were all mastered by their respective users.

I got my CycloDS in the mail today [whoo!] so I'm finally able to start playing this. I've finished the first quest and the bunch of tutorials that come along with it, and I think I'm finally 'free' to start picking up quests.

Any tips for someone just starting off? Anything I might miss that you can't pick up later? Stuff like that?

There is a trick to playing this game and enjoying it.

Now it's complicated, so pay attention.

When you go to start the game? Don't. Instead, turn on a PSX and play Final Fantasy Tactics.

Awesome.

The board faq at Gamefaqs said that the only missable thing is the Shining Lute, so hopefully that's the only thing. Right when you see Hurdy the bard in a cutscene (moogle story character), be wary when you take the associated story quest right afterwards since if you read the bill carefully, it says it'd be neat if you got some flutegrass in addition. They don't tell you that you get it in an area that's not indicated in the bill.

The only things I wish I knew earlier in the game than I did were how the bazaar works and the time-saving of dispatching units for quests. The rest was easy enough and came after enough play to familiarize with the systems.

How ya doing, buddy?

The Shining Lute is pretty hard to miss if you're reading the dialogue. Hurdy asks if you could go and get the extra loot needed for another instrument, so you're already given a heads-up that there's another item out there.

So, I gave the wireless trade-raffle thing a go for the first time last night, and got a Madu (Doublecast for Red Mage for those who don't know). Is this feature pretty advantageous, or did I just get really lucky?

And...is it a bad thing for stat growth that I'm trying to get everyone to learn as much as possible (blue magick being the only exception for the most part)? Granted, the actual leveling is not going that fast for me (everybody's 35 or 36), so I don't know.

If you level up in all the jobs, you'll end up with people who're all-around average-- no strengths, no weaknesses. There's no real benefit to mastering all jobs, so you may as well make it kind of easy on yourself and focus on specific roles for your party (a faster, thief-type character; a mage; a physical fighter; etcetera).

As for the wireless stuff, I haven't tried it. Madu isn't exactly a pain in the ass to get (easy to make and shows up often in auctions), so it seems like the raffle thing might just be a way to get certain weapons earlier.

So I finally got all 300 quests done. I'll probably do Brightmoon Tor and the other oddjob quests when I'm bored, but I think I'm mostly done with the game. My final party:

Spoiler:
Luso: Blue Mage/Seer
Not nearly as effective at damage-dealing as a Geomancing Paravir, but he's good for throwing around buffs and debuffs, along with some Magick Frenzied spells.

Adelle: Paravir/Heritor (the usual Paravir junk with Geomancy)
Slightly modified from the normal Paravir/Paladin. Adelle's status skills are way better, anyway.

Noah: Ranger/Viking
Not nearly what I intended, but I realized it was better for my Seeq to be able to attack from afar (since I would always use Mirrored X-Potions when I got up close). The Viking skills are for whenever I want to cast magic, as well as steal equipment.

Al-Cid: Agent

Vaan: Thief/Sky Pirate (with the usual Concentrate, Bandit's Gloves, and evasion gear)

Penelo: Dancer/Red Mage
Weird, I know. Mainly throws around debuffs and Doublecasts Cures.

I also finished 300 quests not too long ago. All I need to do is finish is the last Brightmoon Tor tower and the Final Quest for completion.

Party:

Luso: Paladin/Fighter
He comes equipped with two Fallen Angels thanks to Dual Wield. I also occasionally use Cover to protect my healer or anybody else who needs the protection like mission objectives.

(I'll just mention race rather than names here on out since I'm fairly certain the name generator in this game uses random consonants and vowels.)

Viera: Summoner/Elementalist
My main healer and a decent output of damage. She typically exploits any weakness found on the enemy.

Bangaa: Master Monk/White Monk
This class friggin' rocks with high damage output AND evasion. Mastering Pummel, Cross-Counter, and Aurablast is amazing.

Hume: Hunter/Archer
Moogle: Fusilier/Moogle Knight
Nu Mou: Sage/Black Mage

My Ultima squad. Gotta love that MP Channeling clan ability. =]

The Hunter's Sidewinder is great against monsters (obviously) but is also a decent way to get around Archer's Bane and the like. The Fusilier's Charm, Stop, etc. shots were used more frequently than the elemental shots. I'm slightly underwhelmed by the Sage since I've used the Black Mage abilities more than the Sagacities (including Ultima Blow).

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

At the risk of a possible post deletion, I'm wondering if anybody here who also has a knack for liking the music could help me out with this:

SQEX-10102~3: Final Fantasy Tactics A2 The Sealed Grimoire Original Soundtrack - VGMdb Forums

I bought the OST and I'm in the middle of ripping it in lossless FLAC, and I'm a bit stuck on those two things.
