In terms of a PSP game, Tales of Eternia (Euro) is a definate 9.0. (if I was just playing it on console, maybe 8.5)

I never got to play the PS1 version, and it's hard to track down now.
It has a lot of voice acting, bright colors, almost NO load times at all (very fast battles), and large character sprites.

Out of the PSP RPGs I have played, I'd rate them:

Legend of Heroes - 6.0
Popolocrois - 7.5
Tales of Eternia - 9.0

You won't regret it (unless you hate "Tales of" games).

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Forget Legend of Heroes/Popolocrois/Breath of Fire III (which would need to be imported).
Since when do Pololocrois and Legend of Heroes require importing? It's been released worldwide already.

He meant you had to import Breath of Fire III, not the other two.

Tales of Eternia is also the most challenging "Tales of" game ever created, since some of the enemies and bosses can be really, really cheap. The optional bosses are also among the toughest in the entire "Tales of" series. It is possibly the best (opinions will differ) game out of the series we've had released stateside (referring to the PSX release in the states under the name of Tales of Destiny II by the way).

It's really not cool that the best RPG on PSP right now will not see a release in the states.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Kingdom of Paradise is awesome -- I wish more people would play it. It's a really fun action RPG. Otherwise, unless you're gonna import, the only other RPG to consider is uh...Generation of Chaos BUT DON'T BUY IT.

Right Jazz?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

You just have to keep trying to get new bugei. I've got all of them but two or three. I'm only missing one from the San'yuan Way scroll.

Have you been using the Genmei sword and upgrading it, or the Miracle Sword you can download? I was using the Miracle Sword for a long time because I never used Chi Arts, but then I really started hammering down and upgraded the Genmei Sword to its maximum and got all of my third level Chi Arts.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Generation of Chaos isn't THAT BAD >_______>

You just have to have a ton of patience. Like, the size of the universe or something because the game can be very very frustrating.

Or I guess being a crazy S-RPG nut would help too.

The problem is that it's pretty much random which works well at first but gets annoying if you get the same bugei everytime.

The Ginmei sword I put into disuse since I got the Miracle Sword. I upgraded most of them to the third level since it helps but chaining attacks (without that stabbing-thing move and you cast that spell), I find, is more interesting. Even more when that stab-thing move works too.

But not on Banko. No, that guy just cancels your spells like mad. Took me about 5 tries before I got Banko's pattern.. and how to defeat him.

I didn't have a problem defeating Banko using the Ginmei sword. I remember I had 17 soul talismans in my inventory just a little before I went to fight him. I sold all but 6.

The PSP loads up a six-shooter of classic Slugs from SNK.

March 23, 2006 - At GDC 2006, SNK Playmore confirmed today that the PlayStation Portable will be receiving a new compilation pack in the wildly wild shooter series, Metal Slug.

Metal Slug Collection features six games from the series, including Metal Slug, Metal Slug 2, Metal Slug X, Metal Slug 3, Metal Slug 4 and Metal Slug 5. The PSP version will also feature 2-player wireless co-op play. The collection is planned for release this November.

At last, you may never have to drop a pocket full of laundry money into an old NeoGeo MVS at the Pizzaporium again, so long as you have your PSP with you. We'll have hands-on impressions of the early build of Metal Slug Collection later tonight.
I wonder what the fps is like. Not that I would buy this, because you cannot seriously play Metal Slug on a portable. Just look at the disaster which is Metal Slug for NGPC.

I bought the Metal Slug for GBA, not bad, but it's a shame that the bosses take way too long to kill on Hard mode.

I ordered I.Q. Mania, I'll mention how it plays when it arrives.

I'm planning to pick up a used copy of Virtua Tennis, I've heard a lot of good things about it.

No, it's basically Intelligent Qube (PS1) with like 7000 unique stages + some bonuses and little minigames. It was released in Japan recently (along with XI Colliseum which is Devil Dice, and a Bomberman game). P.Q. was something different.

I'm a big IQ fan, and it apparently has all of the music from the original (which was incredible), so I decided to pick it up.

Following the reports of the past few days, it's no surprise that Sony's shares in the stock market have dropped considerably, but what does this mean for Sony? Could this result in the premature death of the PSP?

Analysts think so, with 1 in 5 of all PSP owners only using their PSP as media centres. So where does this leave Sony in the handheld market? We don't know, but Sony are definitely going to have to rethink their strategies before the UMD gets completely wiped out the market.

If current trends continue, the PSP will not see past 2006.

Is it too early to call it the dreamcast of handhelds? Im having fun with mine, and if it does bomb later this year, it just means i can buy a shitload of games for dirt cheap sooner.

I'm scared that it will fade away too, but I'm buying my games now anyway. Better to get them before they become obscure, rather than cheaper.

Ultimate Block Party
The visuals are totally distracting in a good way, with all the cute anime characters, and the gameplay is a high ranking contender for the word "frantic". Having each block colour do something different to the opponent is actually quite lethal. Keep in mind, you probably will not have time to even consider which colours you clear since it can get messy on your side really quickly as well. It's harder than Tetris Attack since you are managing 4 blocks (most of the time) in a square formation, as opposed to switching 2 panels, where you don't have to consider direction of rotation. Sealing off bottom rows, obscuring visible colours, making blocks immovable, wiping lines + columns, etc. are some of the crazy things that can even happen simultaneously! You'll have to be quick with your fingers in order to survive. Glitter aside, it's definitely not worth a full $46 (CDN), as the highlight is actually the versus mode, which will be fun with similarly skilled friends. Since switching blocks will be the only thing you do...with the absence of significant unlockables.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Um. So UMD Movies aren't very popular. Since when does this mean that the PSP, a gaming system, is going to fade away? By this logic, if GBA movie carts were declining, the GBA would be dropped by Nintendo?

Why would Sony only decide to support the PSP if UMD movies were to be the main focus? That's an insult to all PSP gamers.
