It seems to me that after several observations every PLEASANT gaming experience I've had has always been from someone NOT living in the United States. Like after a run or something and we are chatting about whatever, and we ask eachother where we are from, I find that about 80% of the time they don't live in the United States, or they moved here from another country.
Fuck the USA and their fucking shit manners. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() FGSFDS!!! |
Worst experience that I had online was on Runescape, a few months after I started the game...
A guy was having problems finding stuff on a quest, so I helped lead him around to the locations. So he says he wants to thank me by "paying for my membership"... if I'd be so kind as to give him my account's password. I told him I wasn't falling for that scam, and reported him as a rulebreaker. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Whenever there's FPS action afoot and an unaware team member sets up camp in the middle of a doorway, blocking anyone trying to get through and oblivious to gunshots, chat, or melee attacks to get their attention. The more aggravating ones do this intentionally, looking you square in the face and firing playfully at your head.
Reading about the assaults based on gender is a real downer (in fact, this whole thread is depressing). For media which is supposed to be fun and open to all, that kind of behavior is an embarrassment. Oi, who needs a GTA MMOG when gamers are already doing whatever the hell they want in-game ![]() I was speaking idiomatically. |
My most common annoyance is people quitting when they're going to lose. I hate to generalise but in my experience this is primarily an American trait. I guess the phrase "It's the taking part that counts" isn't one you guys get taught as a kid. More specifically, having been mainly playing Frontlines online lately, it's incredibly frustrating when you're rushing an objective, have just shot everyone guarding it and some idiot from your team calls in an airstrike on the position, meaning you have to back out and wait for the drop (Which kills nobody as you already killed them all). The time spent waiting gives the opposition enough time to respawn and get back to the objective making it much harder to capture. Equally annoying is when you've parked a spy drone near an objective to show up all the enemy soldiers and some idiot airstrikes the area, destroying your drone. In the same way that some people don't understand how certain roles work in rpgs, it amazes me how many people don't realise that the spy drones in Frontlines are for, you know, spying, not just as flying C4. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() ![]() |
I hate team killers. Not accidental team kills, those happen sometimes. I'm talking about the whiny little 13 year olds who kill you just so they can get the plane. I play alot of battlefield 1942. Unfortuneatly, there's usually only a couple of planes in a map that your team has access to. So if you feel like flying the plane, then you have to wait in line. All the time, you get greedy little kids who stand on the spot, hammering the 'get in vehicle' key. Even though I was clearly standing there first, and common courtesy suggests that I should get it. I'm always tempted to shoot them outright, but I don't like to teamkill like that unless I've been drinking. So they get my plane. I tried the hammering technique and the stupid fuckers shot me. So I've developed my own way of punishing them. I wait until they are waiting in line again. Then, as they are approaching the plane to get in, I toss a grenade. So the grenade blows up as the plane is starting to pull away. This damages the tail, and severely weakens the plane. Then, I pull out the assault rifle, and just as the plane finally gets off the ground, I blow it up. Pisses them right off.
The other thing is the people who try to get all the glory. Playing games like battlefield, and other FPS's require a large amount of teamplay. any strategy a team could have is destroyed when half the team decideds to run amok and do their own thing instead of listening to the plans of the team. People who just sit around waiting for planes while the base that houses the planes gets taken over and they get shot while twiddling their thumbs. Then they have the audacity to bitch at the "people who lost the base" because now they can't fly planes. It's called teamwork bucko, get off the E key, and start shooting someone. FELIPE NO |

Can't say I've played that one.
The whole hogging the vehicles thing in Battlefield is particularly annoying when a vehicle has more than one seat and functions better with a couple of people in and some idiot drives or flys off in it on their own. Just wait a couple of seconds, pick up a second gunner and do soooooo much better than you would on your own, idiot. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() ![]() |

It's not just that they are young, I am also young like some of the people that do that, but at least I'm mature enough to not be a faggot the whole time and team-kill and what not. Another big problem is the people who think they are awesome then go and hid behing others the whole time just to not feel the wrath of the other team beating down on him. The only other thing that gets me mad is when people join a match/game/whatever and join just to be a complete idiot on it. Such as saying "PWNT YOU N00B" when you had gotten killed by him plus seventy other people on you. It really isnt much of a problem in FPS, but mroe in MMO's. There's nowhere I can't reach. |

Also, all the terminology that MMOs have these days. It's like an encyclopedia for each game. So many abbreviations! My first MMO I played was The Sims Online. My central character in there had a lot of in-game money and skills, among other things that sims can have. Well, I entered this house and this woman told me she would pay me 5 million simoleans to fix her lamp. I agreed and my little avatar fried up from a power shortage, and died. Yes, died. The woman who was responsible for this thought it was funny. ![]() This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
