I feel as though I may have seen that symbol in Shakugan no Shana the second, so that will be my second guess.

it's not Hatenko Yuugi, i've only seen the first ep too but havn't seen any others. i might pick it up again later. it's not Shakugan no Shana either, althou there is a girl with red hair in this show too =p time for another picture hint.

I'll guess Zero no Tsukaima since it has a red head and has magic, though I don't recall a scene like this anywhere. Also thought I'd get the thread moving again.

Honestly, I've never watched it, but I'll guess Earth Maiden Arjuna (or however you spell it, I forget exactly), just because of the two dots on the head. It looks like something that'd come out of that.

good guesses but no one's right so far =( i'm wondering if no one follows this or will this be an "oh yeah now i remember seeing that" after finding out what it is. it's no fun to be stuck on a hard sample so here's a shot with all the main characters. i'll go ahead and say the show is an OVA and not finished yet =p
