Car problems?
I ma not so knowledgeable about cars and such and even less the online resource for autos.
The clutch pedal on my 1996 Honda Del Sol is stuck all the way in and I cannot shift out of neutral or engage first, less second gear alone. Any tips from people driving Standard transmission on how to fix that? Or point me to the right places so I can learn and fix such problem? Being without vehicle is painful >_< Thanks Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Sounds like your clutch has finally went. Was it still the original? If so, I'm not surprised. You'll need transmission work, and probably need to get your car towed somewhere to have it done. Transmission stuff isn't traditionally a good thing to try and do yourself.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Either your master or slave cylinder is out and bypassing fluid. Or just leaking it all out.
If you know where to look, you can look for leaking brake fluid at the slave cylinder or from the bellhousing. If that's not the case, then your master cylinder is probably the culprit. It could possibly be that the slave cylinder piston is mechanically broken, but that is less likely. Either way, unless the hydraulic lines busted and leaked all the fluid out, you'll be replacing one of those two components. Might want to ask Immortal which one is the usual suspect, since he owns a Del Sol around that year. Edit: Arainach is wrong, the clutch assembly inside the transmission is not what is causing your problems. If you take it somewhere decent for repair, the repair bill shouldn't be more than 300, I would figure. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]()
