There is an official PS2 Memory card adaptor, though I don't know why it doesn't seem to be available in Europe. I checked on the Asia Playstation website and it's right there on the accessories list:
PS2 Memory Card adaptor for the PS3 Since it's available still in Hong Kong, maybe sites likes Play-Asia would be suitable for you.....but they're pretty fucking expensive: PS2 Memory Card adaptor on Play-Asia Wow, HK$98.00 compared HK$155.20?! Bloody rip-off!! ![]() There's nowhere I can't reach.

Sony discontinuing PS3 80GB model? Source: [H]ard Forum:
Sony Discontinuing 80GB PS3? - [H]ard|Forum Doesn't necessarily mean they're discontinuing the manufacturing of it, it could just be that Best Buy is dropping that model from their line-up, but that seems odd to me that they would do that if Sony is continuing to manufacture it. Maybe this is old news to some but I didn't see it mentioned on the last few pages of this thread. How ya doing, buddy?

More than likely they are going to move to a 45nm Cell for the 80GB or whatever model replaces it. Rumor is its going to be bumped to 120GB which is possible since the cost to Sony is completely dependent on the hdd market. They may be able to get 120gb drives cheaper than 80gb drives these days.

For those worried that Home is just going to be a Second Life clone, here's a taste of its uses:
How Resistance: Fall of Man Makes Home Really, Really Cool How Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Makes Home Really, Really Cool Playstation 3: How Warhawk Makes Home Really, Really Cool I actually know someone who is working on a Home Space project and got a bit in info for him. The coolest thing is how Home integrates with other games. It has various asset hooks so developers can port their game models directly into a Home Space. So for example, Square could potentially make an addon that allows for a fully rendered Lightning to greet you in your own Home Space. 3rd parties could also use this to hype up games by holding public events within Home using various characters from the upcoming game. Think Kratos showing up in a public square and holding a fist fight match with Home avatars a few days before GoW3 is released. FELIPE NO ![]()

I'm really diggin' the whole 'pre-game war room' idea for Warhawk. It sounds exactly like what Insomniac plans on doing with Resistance 2, having a mini lobby with your teammates before each match. The whole warboard with little soldier/vehicle avatars that you can place on the map sounds pretty fun, although it's likely that most people won't take it very seriously.
Communication and strategizing makes those types of games about 10 times more fun than they already are. Most amazing jew boots |
I didn't really care much for Home but after hearing what they can do with those things, I can't wait to try it out. The strategy room idea is awesome, it brings a whole new level of depth into the game and also sounds very sci-fi. Now I relly need to get warhawk.
I just hope adverts don't go crazy in there. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() New Record! |
From MTV's Multiplayer Blog:
If they could put this as in as an optional alternative for the cover system in Killzone 2, that would be pretty cool (for about 3 games, but whatever). There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
If Sony wants to compete with Ninendo they're going to have to come up with ways to make control schemes easier. This feature would make peaking out of cover a LOT easier then stretching to hit L or R on the D-pad or something.
Also the enhanced 3D effect overall would actually be quite stunning in my opinion. Motion controls are cool, but it's been done by the PowerGlove and many others before even that. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Sony compete with Nintendo on what level? The last thing we need is two consoles being used to peddle half-arsed collections of mini-games to people. I don't know what's so complex about the control schemes currently being used, what makes them difficult is when people try to crowbar too much in (the random use of Sixaxis controls being an example of that).

That's it, enough fanboy garbage from you, Slayer. Thread banned.

I saw that face tracking thing a while ago, looks interesting.
There was also a japanese newscast of the eyetoy and being able to put all sorts of crap in your face . And I also remember there being some sorta futuristic spy game in early stages of the ps3 in which the pseye would transfer your image as a hologram into the game but that has yet to be seen in a full game :/ What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() New Record! |
Awesome news for the few of us that will actually care. Sony announced they added iXMF support to the PS3 SDK. This is pretty much the awesomeness of awesome for game sound and music development right now.
Here's a good article on what iXMF is: Gamasutra - Introducing the Interactive XMF Audio File Format FELIPE NO ![]() |
just checked out the playstation store new downloads. Usual rock band and guitar hero tracks then theres a game called rocketman, which was a very poor excuse of a shooter I'd say. Not only that but the scenes were very laughable with no real attempt at any sort of movement or animation.
BUT, if you log into a japanese account and go into the playstation store there is a very nice game with a cool concept. It looks like a very fancy flash game and the music is just calming and very awesome. It's a game that focuses on the different demensions of the area such as "If you can't see it, it doesn't exist" "It exist but you just can't see it" and the drops and jumps also rely on the perspective on the screen. It may have japanese text but the dialog is in english and learning curb is easy. If you like puzzle games you find it interesting. Sorta reminds me of the Xenosaga 3 minigame, except its actually good. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() New Record! |

So I've been playing Ar Tonelico on my PS3 for a few days now. I've been backing up my save data due to the corrupt data reports and sure enough I ran into the problem. I've also figured out the cause.
For the few games that have this issue, do not bring up the PS3 system menu while the game is reading the system data from the card at the start. This is what is causing the data corruption since bringing up the menu has basically the same effect as removing the card during the read. I was able to recreate the data corruption almost every time by doing this. I also got a few other games to exhibit the same problem so I guess good practice would be to not bring up the system menu until after any card data read/writes are complete. This is an important consideration for those planning on getting Mana Khemia at the end of the month as the Japanese version has been reported to suffer the same issue as AT did. It might not be fixed for the US release. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
Sometimes a game has this problem, but you can reload the game and it's fixed also. It's weird. (Odin Sphere was like this)
I wanted to play Ar Tonelico but I gave away my PS2, so if you keep playing and don't encounter the problem again you should update about it or PM me or something so I know I can get through the game without it being incredibly frustrating. ![]() This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. so update 2.20 was just release a while ago.
Ability to transfer playlist of music and photos to the psp is now available. Also being able to listen to ps3 music thru the psp or something like that. Theres also BD-live and "resume play" feature for blueray and dvd's even if the disc is ejected. divx files over 2gb are now supported as well and divx subtitles are now usable. Although i'm not sure if it means .str files becuase i was unable to make any of them work, but a few unsopported divx movies are now viewable. Now sure what else there is, it seems as tho i won't make much use from this update ~_~ anyways i have a question of reccomendation. I am goin to preorder gta4 and mgs4 but i would like to buy a game that is currently available and i was looking into getting some online action. So question is, warhawk or call of duty 4? or maybe another popular online game which i am unaware about. cod4 seems more popular but warhawk has a bundle with a bluetooth headset which i would need. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() New Record! |

There are, y'know, places like Blockbuster and so forth that rent games to people when they can't decide on what to purchase for themselves. Comparing these two titles is an apples and oranges affair. Neither game is a sandboxer or a stealth action title, and by listing two EXTREMELY POPULAR franchises you plan on buying into, you're not giving us a good enough idea of what you actually like.
Warhawk isn't an aerial shooter per say, it can be easier (and far more generically) classified as a multiplayer third person action game, since there's just as large a ground focus as there is on the air game. (With the exception of the Ruined Capitol map, but still.) It feels more like a simplified and faster paced Battlefield than anything else, if you want an easy comparison to something you've probably played. COD is really THE multiplayer experience of the moment, but be prepared for the annoyances that come with it being an extremely popular title and how the kill cam goes to show just how many people use the reload glitch. I guess I sorta did give prefrences to what I wanted but I didn't mean to do that. I just said I was going to preorder those games becuase I wanted to say it since all I have right now is motorstorm and heavenly sword. Truth is, I'd be okay with getting either warhawk or cod4 but I wanted to get an individual opinion for both games to help me make up my mind. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() New Record! |
Well ok, I have both Warhawk and CoD4, so will see if I can break it down for you. If you want an online only game with huge maps and teams so big that you won't actually feel like part of a team, and therefore won't really give a shit if you or your team is successful, go for Warhawk. If you want something that has smaller teams, smaller maps, making for a more intimate affair, an affair where you will actually care about the outcome, get CoD4. However, if you tend to get really into the competition, to an unhealthy degree, stay away from CoD4, as all of the glitching and bullshit that runs rampant on that game's multiplayer can become very frustrating.
