I've been hearing lately that Battlefield has become a new popular stage. I never really liked the platforms, and I thought not many did, but apparrently it's different in Brawl. The only thing I know people have been complaining about in Final Destination is getting stuck under the sides, which is nothing less than annoying.

Clans sound like a great idea, whether we pick or draw. If we pick, I'm bribing Identity Crisis. That man was a monster the other night.

As for items, the only ones I'd kind of like to see gone are hearts and the Dragoon. The latter can add a lot of fun trying to collect all three pieces, but sometimes it's just a cheap kill.

I finally got my hands on the game, and after a bunch of tinkering (and a mad dash through SSE) I got the lag down to acceptable levels. Sometimes there's none at all!

Oh, right my friend code: 5198-2172-2166 Metal

Anyone want to play right now?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I've found that even the slightest of lag makes a quick character kind of... weak.

I had to change from my usual Peach or Zelda setup to Snake while I was 1v1'ing my friend.

Also, if there's a clan starting, what time would it take place? I have odd hours, but I'd like to take part in it if possible. Although I'd hate to screw people over by sleeping through a scheduled game or something.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

As I mentioned earlier, whoever you're matched up against, you have that week to assign a date and time on when you can battle. I'm aware that people have odd hours to deal with, so the week long period should be enough time to satisfy clan matches.

If you guys really are doing clans, I'll jump into one that Wario can fit into.
As I said, I don't want clans discriminating just by character. Otherwise, your team gets predictable and could easily be countered if you know what characters they're gonna choose already. I, more or less, just want a band of people teamed up together competing for the same purpose. For all I care, your clan could be called Team Star Fox and your main could be Wario or Jigglypuff.

And what do you guys think of regional captains? The US is split up into West Coast, Central, and East Coast, and everywhere else in the world evens out the final division.

If we plan to make eight clans in total, two people fight for captain positions on the West, two people fight for Central, two people fight for the East... And if it's just Krel and Infernal getting the games overseas... Then I guess those two are already captains. (I dunno where anyone is on this board. )

Afterwards, regardless of where you are, you can get chosen by any of the clan captains to join their team.

... Something like that.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

If you were doing clans by characters, you wouldn't have to worry about people selecting counters anyway (because people would have to use the characters that they joined the clans with). The only time it would get in the way would be if a clan fought another clan that happened to have a lot of counters to their own group.

So I just went nuts and added everyone's code in the thread from the point where Acer posted his to the wiki entry, so now that's Metal Sphere, SacredX (whose code I took from his sig.), Acer and Cheezeman's.

Anyone else who hasn't put theirs in wiki yet?

I've updated my friend roster with everyone in the wiki. I'm not sure how many slots my brother will want, but may end up needing to delete some that never register by the end of the month. Also I was finally able to change some router settings and had some fairly low lag With Anyone matches, so that should be better.

I've been noticing a lot of 3+ player stock matches in Friend battles, but outside of 1v1 they're just not useful anymore. Not only to they keep people waiting and reward those who avoid fighting, but they fixed Time matches so you can't suicide to prevent others getting points off you.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Random Junk:

* If you for some reason want every movie in the Subspace Emissary, you will have to play through it twice. Make opposite choices (Kirby instead of Mario, Save Zelda instead of Peach, use Metaknight instead of Lucario)

* For some reason there is a hard coded value that resets the amount of CDs you have gained when you go over it. I do not know what the number is, but people say if you get near 20 it drops to 0 and you have to start over again.

Damn it all, the Wii LAN Adapter is sold out everywhere in my area. I went to about 6 different stores in 3 towns and was denied. I should be able to order online, but is anyone else having a similar problem finding one?

I was lagging like an iron gorilla in mollasses against Wolf and Icy (see the FC list if you don't know who they are). That last match before I had to relinquish control of the TV was a complete fluke. Light character? Check (Lucas), Heavy opponents? Check (Charizard and Samus), Small stage? Yessir (Smashville).

It was definitely fun while it lasted, but damn do I need to fix the lag. It runs smooth in With Anyone mode, though.

...Son of a..99% cleared on SSE, and go figure that the one not-fully-cleared stage is The Great Maze. Even with the whole map and a guide (a SSE guide off of GameFAQs, that is), that's going to be a real pain in the posterior to do.

EDIT: Changed my title after picking up on a little technique for Ganondorf that looks kind of amusing and potentially quite deadly. The smashboards people are thinking of calling it the "Thunder Storm" since it involves the Thunder Drop, his down aerial. But since it resembles bunny-hopping quite a bit, I think "bunny-stomping" sounds funnier.

Well, playing with Miles SORT of is possible. Lag is existant but minimal (as far as this game is concerned).

Playing with Starman was, unfortunately, a complete joke. I got out of the match after I realized the first 30 seconds of single digit frame rate was the faster of the two speeds I got in that match.

I'm really hoping that at least one friend I end up adding can result in a good playing experience. It's not like I have a bad connection. It sucks that my only good matches have been against randoms, and they've not really been a whole whack of fun to play with.

Oh well, and people wonder why so many are willing to fork over 50 bucks a year for XBL. =\

Anyway, to the multitude of people who have added me and I haven't added back (pretty much everyone except Iwata, Mo0, Miles and now Starman) who have sent me PMs or mentioned it in the thread, don't remove me quite yet. I haven't added you because I'm pretty sick of the unplayable nature of this game online. (My personal disappointment of the generation so far, but I really shouldn't be surprised, this is Nintendo, after all).

I am, however, gonna pick up the LAN adaptor when I can and hopefully this will work itself out.

I posted mine a few pages back but forgot to mention I couldn't make an account on the wiki. If someone would be so kind: 3265-4763-1297 (POF)

On the subject of LAN adapters, any difference between the official one and the Datel one? The Nintendo one should be the better choice since they're both the same price, but I've ordered the Datel one because of cheap shipping from Futureshop, so we'll see.

I read somewhere (probably in the online support page @ Nintendo) that only their brand of the LAN adapter would work with the Wii. Though maybe they're just saying that so you'll buy theirs, I dunno. Come to think of it, I can't remember whether or not the one I have is Nintendo brand, and I know it works.

Say, I noticed in The Great Maze that some of the save/portal rooms twinkle different on the map than others. Anyone know if that might mean anything?

Well that seems to be a false piece of info if I ever heard one. Me and Miles have the Datel LAN adapter and it's working just fine. MUCH better than the wireless connection (for me anyway!)

Are you talking about the 4 "different" save point rooms? As far as I know, those allow you to teleport to one of the other three save points more quickly.

After you left there was almost no lag. Then Wolf joined and there was still almost no lag, and she's pretty far away. =/

Generally the difference wireless and wired should be practically negligable (like 5ms of difference), but it depends on the circumstances. However if you've already switched to wireless channel 1 and DMZ'ed your Wii, I guess there's not much else to try.

Is it just me, or are Pokéballs pretty weak in this game? Seems like most of the time it's just Goldeen, Bonsly, Wobuffet, or Munchlax. The only really useful one seems to be Latios and Latias. Assist Trophies are pretty much the new Pokéballs.

I know, it's strange. For when I was playing with Mo0 and Iwata, it was basically a case of "any two of us play fine", but as soon as there was a third, it shit all over itself. I didn't mean to imply it was your fault, per say, but after you joined, our experience took a turn from ok to "oh dear sweet jesus". That's all.

And since I'm not imcompetant, nor an idiot, I DO have my Wii DMZ'd. I just question wether or not my wireless has a lot of interference or one of a small list of other potential problems. It's odd, though. Other wireless devices experience no such connection issues. With luck, a wired connection will be more stable for me when it comes to this console.

It's strange, like Miles said. It's not like I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to network setup and it's not like I don't have a well-above average connection, here.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Bonsly is pretty useful. You just have to chuck it at your opponent and should you connect...

*WOOSH!!

And I was browsing around BrawlCentral to see if anything had been updated, I rememberd they had a tournament going on and checking the thread, I noticed they had the Neutral Stage selection and the Counter Stages, the list itself is pretty good:

Netural Legal Stages (6)
Battlefield
Final Destination
Lylat Cruise
Smashville
Yoshi's Island
Pokémon Stadium

Counterpicks (17)
Frigate Orpheon
Mushroomy Kingdom (Overworld/Underworld)
Delfino Plaza
Luigi's Mansion
Battleship Halberd
Castle Siege
The Summit
Mario Circuit
Port Town Aero Dive
Corneria
Shadow Moses Island
Green Greens
Jungle Japes
Rainbow Ride
Brinstar
Electroplankton
Green Hill Zone
Pokémon Stadium 2
Skyworld
Onett
Yoshi's Island (Melee)

This means, the remaining stages are banned:

Banned (11)
Rumble Falls
Norfair
Spear Pillar
Wario Ware
Distant Planet
75M
Mario Bros.
Flatzone 2
Pictochat
Hyrule Temple
Big Blue

I could understand why WarioWare is a banned stage, Pictochat, not as much. I don't get why the Great Sea isn't a banned stage... That fish is fucking annoying... I also don't understand why Norfair is banned, but not Brinstar... They're pretty much the same thing.

Otherwise, what do you guys think of this list? For our tournament, we could pretty much customize this the way we want so everyone is happy. The only one I'd remove from the banned list is Pictochat.

(Not sure if any are missing from the list. If there's anything I missed)

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

It's hilarious, stupid, and arbitrary, like everything else to ever come out of the Smash competitive scene. I don't know what you want us to really say here. "Gee, those tourneyfags sure are silly, nyuk nyuk"?

Edit: So, does that mean any tourney you guys set up and run has to follow "standard" tourney rules or something? Are we really going to justify that way of thinking and playing? I ain't running this shit, so it's an honest question here.

How ya doing, buddy?
