PSOne Emulator for PSP
I was wondering if someone knew how to go about it. I am not sure if mine can play PSOne games already. I saw some software that can do it but I'm not sure how to go about it.
Specs System Software: 3.71 M33-2 Slim and Lite Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() from the makers of Death Note!! Bakuman. Am happy..because AgitoXIII and Parasite Eve 3 is a comin to the PSP!! |
It's easy to do, it works well with a large number of games, and it is well worthwhile. It only takes a while to learn how to convert your games. Once you've done it the first couple of times it should become second nature. The biggest problem for me is memory stick space.
PSX on PSP - TheGamersPress That site has a few guides. There's a tiny bit of outdated information there, but if you ignore the references to specific firmware it should work. If you need more indepth informatin about the latest tools and whatever, try the MaxConsole Forums. To answer your question, your PSP can already play PS1 games. Sony included a PS1 emulator in the firmware a long time ago, for games downloaded from the PSN store. The scene simply learned how to use it for any game. I wish they'd hurry up and do the same trick for running PS1 ISOs on the PS3. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
@Soluzar: Thanks bunch...so I don't have to install anything anymore? I just need some ISOs??? Are there exceptions?
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() from the makers of Death Note!! Bakuman. Am happy..because AgitoXIII and Parasite Eve 3 is a comin to the PSP!! |
Basically, you take an iso/cd of the game, and then convert that into a set of files. YOu copy those files onto your PSP.
^-^ has a really good guide on this. Check it out. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
There are some exceptions... not every game works, but a lot of them do. Some games work better on the emulator from a particular firmware version. There is a program called POPS Loader which allows you to load the emulator from a different version of the firmware. POPS is Sony's name for the emulator. You'll find a summary of what games are compatible on Maxconsole, and a more detailed list is available here. Games with more than one disc can be a problem... but there are ways to get around that. Games which require the right analogue stick just aren't playable. Games which require all four shoulder buttons are a little bit difficult too. I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
download PSX2PSP v1.2 - Popstation GUI to convert iso games to bpb,is too easy.will make folder for game, than put it in

Is this "real" emulation or is the CPU inside the PSP compatible with the instruction set of the original PSX?

Min: Make an iso of the game with Isobuster, then mount it with Daemon Tools, then go through the steps.

That's surprising. PS1 CDs seem relatively tough, to me. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]()

I assume however that the GTE and SPU are in fact emulated, because I don't seem to find shrinked versions of that chips on the PSP.
@RYU: Any details on this matter? I see that both main CPU are MIPS-based, the PSX one is a R3000A and the on on the PSP seems to be 32R2. Additional Spam:
Compatibility howerver should remain as the MIPS instr set didn't change so much over time (same as the x86 one). I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

@LiquidAcid
PlayStation:CPU,Custom MIPS R3000 at 33.8688 MHz PSP:CPU,32-bit MIPS32 R4000-based but from R3000,Floating Point Unit, and a Vector Floating Point Unit, secondary CPU present in the Media Engine is functionally equivalent to the primary CPU save for a lack of a VPU. The MIPS CPU cores are globally clocked between 1 and 333 MHz.32R2 is is old and eliminate it.R4000 alone maximum speed of 100MHz,that why see R4000 addon to max speed to 333MHz.also that why can play psx from cpu. Indeed I was more interested about the details of the GTE emulation on the PSP hardware. At least there binary translation (dynarec) is needed, because you can't virtualize the existing hardware (or can you?).

Really?? I must have in another forum....there was a rule that doesn't allow anyone to talk about it. Only one of my game are actually real...RE1.

I just want to ask...is there any lagging when you play a music game on the emulator? I just played Bust a Groove 2. I just want to check if its my lack of skill or if there is a lag (like the one on the pc emulator). Also I noticed that my battery time seems shorter when I plat emulated games. Is there a way to fix these problems??
EDIT: I was wondering if there is a way to convert epsxe saves so that you could use it on the emulator on the psp. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() from the makers of Death Note!! Bakuman. Am happy..because AgitoXIII and Parasite Eve 3 is a comin to the PSP!!

I know it seems a bit late but...I am having problems with the CWCheat. I've already enabled them but the CWCheat menu doesn't come out even after I press the "select". Also I was wondering. It says that I have to name the .mcr file as the game's ID. Does that mean that in one .mcr file I should only have one game saved?
How ya doing, buddy? ![]() from the makers of Death Note!! Bakuman. Am happy..because AgitoXIII and Parasite Eve 3 is a comin to the PSP!! |
