White Strips
Who here has experience with any of those teeth whitening strips that you can get at grocery stores? Even though my teeth are pretty white, I want to get them really white like a lot of celebrities (without going overboard of course). The thing is, I'm not about to shell out $600 for those Britesmile procedures at the dentist. If anyone here knows if the whitestrips actually work or which ones do work, let me know.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
As far as I know, the Crest thingers work just fine. My mom used them for a while. I'm sure other name brands would work just as well, but I can't vouch for them myself.
The only thing to be wary about with things like this is that they wear away the enamel on your teeth, making them more susceptible to things like decay and cavities. Or something similar to that. My dentist told me I couldn't use them because the enamel on my teeth never really 'developed' or something like that, and so using the strips on my 'damaged' [though not really] teeth would make them even worse. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
The only whitening method I used was the toothpaste, and even then I did not see any results. I am a little nervous to use the white strips because I heard that they can harm your enamel.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Yeh, the whitestrips work. I used the Crest ones. But even if you don't have sensitive teeth, by the end of the treatment cycle your teeth kill because of the sheer amount of peroxide they're constantly being exposed to.
My suggestion is to brush your teeth with baking soda. Just straight baking soda. That will keep them white over time, and if you want to occasionally brush with a mixture of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, that will whiten them the fastest. Just don't swallow the peroxide. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
I've used them and think they work great. I've got whiter teeth now
![]() But remember that it doesn't work for everybody. You have to buy and try and see if your mouth reacts with the chemicals inside the strips. Good luck! I was speaking idiomatically.
Thanks to Fjordor for the funny image!

I love that band. Seven Nation Army.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Icky Thump is pretty good, though not their best.
On topic: I used the professional grade white strips ($55 and you buy them from the dentist), and saw a HUGE difference. And I'm a guy who has struggled with gross-colored teeth my whole life. Before: ![]() After: ![]() Highly recommended. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
My teeth are pretty weak (susceptible to cavities) and it kinda sucks that the whitening strips might weaken them even more. Ah well, I guess they're worth a shot by what you guys are saying though.
Also, I think the White Stripes are terrible. I switch the radio station as soon as I think it's one of their songs. Most amazing jew boots |
