I finally got my hands on a 360 copy of Guitar Hero 3. Now I can curse at a Devil with better graphics when his ridiculously hard song kicks my ass.

Do game related purchases count? If so, I got this today.
![]() Along time ago I saw a picture online of a figurine of Poison that looked really good. I told myself if I ever saw it that I would buy it, I saw this at a comic store last week and went back today with the money to buy it. The funny thing is after buying it I realized that it wasn't actually the figurine I thought it was. Basicly same level of quality but her hand is positioned differently and the one I saw before didn't have the handcuffs. How ya doing, buddy? |
.Jam it back in, in the dark. |
You do know that Poison used to be a guy, right?
Only in America, baby! There's nowhere I can't reach. Return to Crystal Lake... ![]() My Wii Friend Code 1942-4227-2974-0276 |
No, Poison is STILL a dude. Just no more cock.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() John Mayer just asked me, personally, through an assistant, to sing backup on his new CD. |
But Poison isn't a real person, so I don't really care and that's about all I'm going to say because I don't want to steer this thread into an off topic discussion about hermaphrodites/sex changes. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Anyway, DarkMageOzzie's pretty much won the thread. The only thing cooler would be a Mike Haggar model in the pile drive position. Maybe press a button and he'd spin round. My recent gaming purchases would be from the local tip/pawn shop. I scored a few original Game Boy games, including , Spanky's Quest, Game & Watch Gallery and Dropzone. Gives me a reason to hook the GameCube back up with its Game Boy Player. =) None have boxes or manuals, but for two bucks a piece it doesn't really matter! I was speaking idiomatically. |
Since I was born at the end of 89, I pretty much missed the Super Nintendo era. I recently turned to eBay so I can buy all the games that I've only been able to rent or emulate during my childhood.
Super Mario RPG, and Zelda: A Link to the Past just arrived before Christmas. I got them together for $55 after shipping. ![]() I just bought Final Fantasy 2 (FF4) for SNES last night for $46 ![]() ![]() I hope it hurries up and gets here, Canadian mail has been slow lately. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
I recently picked up a copy of Final Fantasy III [US] for SNES. Came with the original box, booklets, map, and all that jazz, for about $30. I'm really happy with it.
![]() [edit] Scratch that, I just made a purchase from EB online... Went and found a 25%-off coupon for used games online, and managed to get Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Dark Cloud 2, and Tales of Legendia for $56, shipped. I love the internet. FELIPE NO |
As reposted from my journal entry, I picked up the following.
... but APPARENTLY, there's something wrong with getting Killer 7 on the PS2. Why? Well no answers yet, but perhaps tomorrow, or after I make this reply. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
|
I just got a PS2 for a hundred bucks brand new, I really needed one since my PS1 stopped reading discs, and they're nigh impossible to find in perfect working order around here.
Came shiny and silvery, as all the black ones were gone and the white ones came with some mediocre singing game that I wasn't going to waste my time and money on. Got Ratchet and Clank 3 for free too, kidna fun so far. I'm just glad to have my FFT files playable again Jam it back in, in the dark. |
But it's still Killer7! HAVE A FUN ENJOY!There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I bought Megaman ZX Advent. I liked everything about the first one (besides the terrible map system) and decided that I needed more 2D Megaman love. So far the game itself is pretty much the same. Just different characters, levels, bosses, and music. Oh, and the whole game is dubbed in English this time. And man, are the voices horrible. The game does pack a punch though and will kill you if you aren't careful. But of course there's an easy mode for the weak!
Fun game. Any fan of the 2D Megaman X games should give it a try. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I thought the A-Trans/Trans-On system added a nice element to the game, but the thing about all the titles after Mega Man Zero 1 is that they completely nixed the awesome mission system that it had. You know? Where you would actually accomplish objectives and such that didn't always end in a boss fight. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |

Anyway, it can't be that rare/expensive, I see it's around 3-5 bucks on ebay. But buying another version right after buying one could feel a bit silly. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
It's only $7.99 or $8.99 at GameStop, so you're chances of finding it there are pretty good too.

Just picked up Rogue Galaxy at Wal-Mart for $19. I don't know if it's dropped at Gamestop yet but it hadn't last time I was at the shop. I just started FFXII though so this will sit on the shelf for a bit first...

I've been on a purchasing spree of sorts lately, mostly looking for some old GCN games that I never got around to buying.
No More Heroes Got it and beat it. Good game, and I liked the style and personality throughout the entire time, although a bit short. It's a bit monotonous, and I thought the boss fights were a bit easy, but the overall combat experience is actually pretty fun. Resident Evil (remake) I got this because I have always been somewhat interested in the RE series, and I did play through RE2 a long time ago (on emulator with cheats and quick saves and all that), and RE4, but have always been deterred by knowing the fact that saving requires Ink Ribbons. However, finally decided I should get this now before it gets impossible to find. Started to play a bit, but I have to say, knowing that dead zombies eventually become Crimson Heads is totally making me just avoid attacking them alltogether until I get the kerosene canister. >.> Resident Evil 0 Just got that today, couldn't find it when I got RE, so I haven't started playing. Baten Kaitos I didn't getting too far, but seems decent so far. The aging magnus aspect is annoying, but it's interesting in a sense. The combat is a bit bland early on, but after a couple of class-ups, it gets a lot more fun. Still haven't really started making crazy combos though. Baten Kaitos Origins Pretty much the same case with RE0, plus, I think I should finish BK first. Megaman Anniversary Collection Just felt I should get this, being a pretty solid collection of Megaman games, even though I could probably find them on emu. Played a bit so far, and all I have to say is that MM7 is so much easier than MM1 (might also be that I actually played a decent amount of MM7 on SNES before). Bloody Roar Primal Fury Played a demo of this way back when (when it was new) and thought it was fun, but I never had much exposure to the popular fighters back then too. So I got it for $10 cdn, coping for a decent experience, and I have to say it's alright. The movelists are a bit limited, and doesn't flow as smooth as SC2, but I really wasn't expecting it to be at the same level anyway. Although, I have to say that there are actually some notable similarities between this game and the Naruto GCN games, both developed by the 8ing/Hudson. I'm still looking for some games, like the Megaman X Collection and Capcom vs SNK 2 EO. I was considering some other games like Aggressive Inline and Starfox Adventures, and I saw both, but just couldn't get myself to put down the money for them. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Alright, been a while since we've been able to access this thread, so I have a fair amount of stuff. Chronological order sounds best!
![]() First up was the obvious pick-up for me and a lot of others here, Days of Ruin. I'm about the biggest damn fan of the series on the planet, so I didn't even care if CO Powers were hugely nerfed. This was silly of me. The design of the game is top notch. The sprites look great, and the battle animations have a really... pulpy look to them. The cast, while nothing stellar, is interesting and has a few people who really stand out (Lin). The story sometimes gets too caught up in lightening the mood and usually ruins the post-apocalyptic atmosphere they initially set up. However, as far as gameplay goes, the CO Powers and new CO Zones are not particularly enjoyable to me. You spend far too much time trying to meticulously prepare a safe entrance of your CO onto the battlefield and not enough time trying to kill the enemy. Anything that distracts me from my goal in such a way tends to kill the enjoyment. Fantastic for people who play multiplayer and online a fair amount, but not so much for sad, lonely people like me. I ended up trading it in, and instead purchased... ![]()
![]() No More Heroes! This was actually purchased before Dual Strike, but I wanted a clean transition from Days of Ruin to the next game. I'd been waiting for the game for ages, and I had convinced myself that the game would only be a so-so one, getting mostly 6s and 7s from US reviewers. To my delight, the game turned out to be much more of a critical and commercial success than I had anticipated, and it really is an enjoyable game-- I found it strangely entertaining to go out and kick dumpsters for new shirts. Easily up there for best third-party game on the Wii, although its competition is a little lacking. ![]() Next up is Nobunaga's Ambition: Rise to Power. Or, as it's better known to fans, "the game Koei took four years to publish in North America." The game's from 2004, and its age does indeed show in both its graphics and its execution. Some strategy elements that have been in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series for several entries are shockingly missing from Nobunaga's Ambition, and it kind of leaves you scratching your head. However, there are some elements that have always been exclusive to this series that make things interesting (like the ability to choose a profession for your created character), so it has some things going for it. I just don't know why Koei didn't bring over a more recent entry into the series. ![]() Tales of Destiny: Director's Cut came out a couple weeks ago, and I decided to give it a spin. It's all still totally fanservice for all the Leonfags out there, but the A-LMBS (aerial linear motion battle system) or whatever the hell it's called is still an enjoyable and fast-paced way to fight. I just don't think it's worth the money if you purchased the normal edition of this game. ![]() Ah, Lost Odyssey. About everyone and their mom has been talking about this one, and I decided to pick it up for a friend. It's... traditional, that's for damn sure. It's 1999 all over again, playing all those Playstation, turn-based RPGs that were a dime a dozen back then. The story has been painfully predictable thus far, but the short stories about Kaim's memories are well-written and typically enjoyable to read. The problem is that they take about five to ten minutes to read, and a lot of times it's jarring to go from running around in a dungeon area and suddenly reading page after page of text. I'll reserve judgment on this one. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I just ordered a few more games from ebay. I picked up Tetris Attack for $6.50 in near new condition. This is clearly my favorite puzzle game I have ever played.
![]() I found Brave Fencer Musashi for PS1. I remember loving this game as a kid. It should arrive on Monday. ![]() Lastly, I got Klonoa: Door to Phantomile for PS1. ![]() How ya doing, buddy? |
Let's see... I bought a 360, and as such, I had to have bought some games for it! I bought:
Blue Dragon: I haven't heard much good about it, but, hey, I wanted to give it a shot. It's interesting thus far. I like the class system that's set up. Lost Odyessey: Which, for some reason, I cannot spell. I really like it thus far. Looking into the main character's memories and dreams are very interesting. Dead Rising: It was cheap, and I heard it was fun. Well... it's okay. I'll let my lover play that one. Bioshock: Haven't played yet. Also, for little apparent reason, I picked up Sonic Heroes for the Gamecube. I think I was enjoying Sonic Adventure 2 Battle a bit too much when I decided I wanted that game. Ah well. ~~~ Oh yeah, nice grab on the Klonoa game, scotty. I was speaking idiomatically. |
