I don't see why they wouldn't return Falcon anyway... They even mention him in Goroh's post. Seems a little illogical if you add someone and not add the person they're rivaling to begin with...

Or even add anything from F-Zero and NOT include him.

That'd be like putting in the Lylat cruise stage and not including Fox.

(but they are doing it with Animal Crossing but who would want to play with a tiny ass mouse that bitches at you if you go away for a week)

Today's update shows Dedede's Final Smash, Waddle Dee Army.

These Waddle Dee are faster than the normal ones and there are those spiky Gordos interspersed therein.

Why does Dedede look like He-Man after he had the power? <_<

Anyway, I guess it's cool... I could imagine them wasting an update pretty soon explaining Kirby's Final Smash.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Oh, and best thing about that music from X update yesterday? It led me to some "new" versions of Totaka's song. Hadn't heard the one from the Frog game, Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion and the newly found one from X. Brings the total of unfound Totakeke songs to 2. Sup Wii Sports and Wave Race 64.

Chaotic, I dunno where've you been (in terms of updates). But they already explained Kirby's Final Smash a while back.

I don't think that they'll re-touch upon a character's Final Smash attack again. Besides the pictures pretty much give out the explanation. And I quote from Smash Dojo;

Spoiler:

The cook puts on his hat!

He takes out a giant pot!

Dinner’s ready! He rings his bell.

He tosses his enemies into the pot...

Simmers them gently and deliberately...

OK! Order up!

Once you take out the stock, your enemy gets blasted off.

But is that a real dish? Something like stone soup, maybe? Can you put just anything in there? Are you sure?

Shockingly, Europe gets screwed once again for the release date! Who could have possibly imagined?

Hotly anticipated Wii title Super Smash Bros. Brawl won't be coming out in Europe until after June 2008, Nintendo has confirmed to VideoGamer.com.

We thought something was up when we noticed the game was absent from Nintendo's updated schedule, distributed to media this morning. This seemed odd considering Mario Kart Wii, another high-profile first-party Wii game, was listed as coming out in Q2.

When contacted by VideoGamer.com a Nintendo spokesperson revealed that SSBB won't be out until after Q2 in Europe. SSBB is set for release in the US on February 10, 2008 and January 24, 2008 in Japan.

This is obviously bad news for European fans of the series. It means at best we won't be seeing SSBB for a whopping 158 days after its Japanese release, and 141 days after its US release.

The Nintendo spokesperson said: "If the game is not listed on the schedule up until the end of Q2 it is currently not due out until after that time."
You know what to do Europe.

Am I the only person that likes the idea of the pity smashes? I mean, I play games with friends to have fun, and it's always hilarious when whoever totally sucks comes out of nowhere and slams everyone with something.

It's kinda like when the person in last place gets a hammer/star combo. Normally you'd be going OH SHIT but there's always the chance they'll accidentally fall of the edge while trying to jump after you.

Well, at least you guys'll also be getting games that even are "TBA" in the U.S. Though, I'm sure you'd mostly want this game other than the two that were announced (The World Ends With You and Dragon Quest Swords).

lol Yeah, but mostly the enemies succumb to this in Event or Adventure Mode. Like when you stand at the edge, they just accidentally fall off the stage.

I'm also hoping that you can also perform Final Smashes in Adventure, Classic or Event Mode. This'll indeed give you the upper hand when trying to finish off your oponents quickly.

Well its Official, I pre-ordered the game @ Gamestop.

Now for a 2~ month wait. I'll be very distracted with a million other things until then so no biggie.
I wish they'd get some more level or character announcements in. Final Smashes are nice, but a lot of the stuff lately has been fluff.

I bet that with these countless pre-orders, when the game officially launches in February 10, 2008 that there won't be any in stock. And that in Japan there will be several pics posted on various game news sites of it's inaugural launch day.

No. I bet it would be like when Wii released all over again. Like the game may just be flat out be hard to find if no one has pre-ordered the game. Seeing as it will be one of the biggest releases next year.

Like I remember that one poster on GameFAQs posted a Toys R Us topic. Which they went into Toys R Us, and noticed several people being ticked off due to their lackluster knowledge that Brawl was pushed to February 10, 2008. Though, that's a different story.

Well, at least during the inaugural first week of release to the full month of February.

Got a new update for you guys

December 7, 2008

With Anyone/Basic Brawl
Spoiler:

The Wii is trying to connect in earnest! And it succeeds!

V

Here you choose With Anyone.

V

You could also choose Team Battle,
but we’ll choose Basic Brawl here.

V

You go straight to the character-selection screen.

Huh? We’re already at character selection? That’s right. You don’t make any rooms.

At this point, you’re already requesting a match. If you connect to someone, you’ll see their status at the bottom of the screen.

Character selection is limited to 45 seconds. If time runs out, your character will be chosen for you at random, so make your choices quickly so as not to make others wait.

V

Then you go to stage selection.

You can cast one vote for the stage you want to play. A stage is chosen by lottery from among those voted on by the players.

Also, the items that are turned off in the item switch are also determined by lottery.

V

Practice on Sandbag while you wait...

Then just wait until you get everyone together.

V

Then the match begins!!

Isn’t that simple? You don’t have to trouble with any settings. You just choose characters and stages.

Names won’t be shown and messages won’t be sent. Neither your identity nor your opponents’ will be known, so you can play without any worries.

By the way, have you ever had an experience in which your opponent was disconnected, and the match never came to fruition? Like when you started with four players, but ended up with only one?

I don’t like that feeling, so I’ve tried to counter it.

If you get cut off, your character will get taken over by the CPU without your opponents even knowing—it pinch hits for you!

V

Hold on! You can’t tell it’s a CPU!

That’s epic! Can we really do this? Wouldn’t you say it’s way better than having all your opponents drop out?

However, we won’t be swapping in CPU characters when you’re playing With Friends. Sorry about that.

And there is one more important thing...

When you have a battle mode that runs online like Basic Brawl, the problem of what to do with hidden characters arises. If one of your opponents chooses a character you haven’t unlocked yet, it will be spoiled for you immediately.

But even without this mode, given the proliferation of the Internet these days, the existence of hidden characters is going to get exposed anyway.

So, this time I’m moving in the direction of not being too hung up on hidden characters.

You can earn most characters by playing through Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary. For those of you who look forward to those encounters, I recommend you clear this mode before playing Basic Brawl.

And as the case has always been, I’ve made it so you can play the characters you unlock in battles.

How ya doing, buddy?

Also going to quote part of the update:

Easy enough. I haven't even connected the Wii to the internet yet, and I doubt I will anytime soon, plus I think people will play Subspace Emissary before even going for online battles.

Also, could this count as confirmation of all characters announced so far being starter characters rather than unlockables? (I think I saw previous posts saying that some of the characters would be unlockables.)

Just... two... more... months...

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Well, I think the majority of the characters (Veterans and Newcomers alike) are mostly done by playing those 1 player adventures. Like through the Subspace Emissary adventure.

Though, I'm pretty sure that there will still be some default characters that you can use as well. And yes, we only have two more months ^^. Which Japan has til' next month.

In Melee, I think you had that mystery character challenge you. After the adventure. If KOed them. The'd probably be a part of the roster. And gamers would probably just repeat the cycle until the roster was full. Or so I think.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

What's up with the character selection screen there? If those are the starters, I guess I was wrong in assuming that all of the characters announced so far are starters.

That's just an example. I'm pretty sure that there may be less than that. Because with any fighting game -- I'm sure that you will start out as many as 3-4 default characters.
