I'm told he is the reason for the delay into Feburary, is that true? If so, death to sonic. Secondly, I think this shows that the current development team is weak of the loud cries of various fanboys crying for their character to give in. They need to learn to 'stay the course.' Rather than to cave into the demands of the terroristsrabid fanboys.
Whoever told you this, hunt them, hunt them down! And shoot them. They're bitter Sonic haters. The delay was made to cut down on possible glitches and prevent interference on Mario Galaxy and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games.

If they were really weak on the fanboy demands, we would still have wavedashing.

Hee, I'm still quietly hoping there is no Final Destination level. Nothing but varied, dynamic levels for the tourney fanboys. Oh, the wailing and lamenting would be glorious.

We're going to meet tourney fanboys when we play online.

FINAL DESTINATION.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.
Touching butts had been banned by the evil Headmaster Frond.
Suddenly, Tina Belcher appeared in the doorway.
She knew what she had to do.
She touched Jimmy Jr's butt and changed the world.

No.

Final Destination maybe considered bland or boring, but its just such a simple stage you can't possibly go wrong with it, especially if every now and there you absolutely MUST settle a rivalry with a friend to see who is truly the best at super smash between the two of you. Whereas a dynamic stage gives your friend excuses as to why he/she lost. Final Destination in my opinion is best summed up as fair.

Sure, Final Destination is also the stage of choice for tournaments but that doesn't mean its a bad stage, anyone who thinks so is just being obtuse by simply hating everything that is related to tournaments simply because they don't have the mad skills/weren't able to choose some cheaty stage where they could abuse some character's traits to win any tournaments.

Although, I do agree that wave dashing being banished is a good thing, it was a super stupid and annoying little glitch that got blown out of proportion and over hyped, albeit somewhat useful.

Except, of course, when your preferred character had projectiles and your opponent's didn't. Which, unsurprisingly, is why Sheik, Falco laser spammers, and Samus crouch cancellers were tourney fanboy favorites. If anything, Battlefield is the stage that comes closest to being "fair", but certain characters will always have advantages at certain stages.

And then there's the aspect of being able to adapt to various stages that most tourney fanboys prefer to be blissfully ignorant of. I've always wanted to somehow sabatoge a tournament so that they can only play at Poké Floats, just to see how many would forfeit. With all items on, even. *gasp!*

"Forget this I'm going home to pwn some n00bs at Counter Strike."

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

In all honesty, I think "tourney" people are a minority and slightly a laughing stock to regular players. Majority of them that I encountered are just arrogant.

"I can play this game better than you, therefore I must be better than you at life"....

I don't get what comes around with that mindset.

I'm not saying all people who are tourney are like that, but I mean there are some arrogant people out there, like if they don't have it their way, they just say "Screw it".

Oh, I agree, I think I just have abnormally bad luck in meeting the more annoying of them (mostly through school, but a couple of my friends and my own brother joined their ranks). So I'm hoping my luck doesn't transfer to Brawl's online matches.

On a similar note, even if they do get rid of wavedashing and other current exploits (wavedashing being the least among them), I have no doubts that there will be plenty of new exploits to find in Brawl. =/

The big one that's been found by EFA attendees is something called the Ink Drop, which is a kind of drop cancelling. I'm not a tourney fag, so I don't understand it.

Oh there's a final destination. I'll call it Smash Stadium. The level in subspace where you fight Petey with the caged peach and zelda. I am just assuming of course...because of how final destination was introduced in melee. If you look at the level its just a simple wide flat platform.

Also here's where you can find your "tourneyfags" - Smash World Forums
The amount of bawwwwing that goes on in there over the changes in Brawl can be pretty funny to read, but I always end up feeling stupid and sad after doing so.

I think that Final Destination's size is such that even if you didn't have projectiles while they did you'd still be able to close the gap quickly enough so that the other player shouldn't be able to put on too much damage. I'll say that while Final Destination's open top terrain does lend itself towards projectiles, but as long as you know how to dodge and dash, its a very puny advantage.

Also, I always though Fox, Shiek and Samus' popularity was due to their speed and combo ability (moreso Fox and Shiek than Samus), not because of their projectiles.

Um, I'm not following your logic here. Because it's huge, that makes closing the gap easier how, exactly? Besides, it's not about putting on damage, but disruption.

Moreso Falco because his laser causes flinching, and the same thing for Sheik's throwing knives. Yes, their speed and combos are the primary reason for their popularity, but their projectiles can be quite a bonus if used correctly, especially at Final Destination.

Samus not so much for speed, of course, but because crouch cancelling works especially well with her. Her projectiles aren't as good, but can still be helpful for disruption... again, especially at Final Destination.

Yes, I realize I sound like a tourney fanboy. I've been around them too much. ._.

The problem with all those projectiles on a completely flat stage like that is that they have complete advantage. You're so busy dodging their shit that as soon as you air dodge they just quit their barrage and come head butting your way. It was a favorite tactic of this really good Samus player I knew. She had it down pat. And if you don't know just how to dance around her just so you're just gonna end up getting raped. I found dynamic levels to be by far more fair since everyone is on their toes on varied ground which allows players to get better foot holds at different locations.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Huge? Final Destination? What? You clearly must not have played on Temple much... Although maybe in comparison to say, Yoshi's Island's main platform but still...

I can see your point with Falco there, but I still feel its possible to gain distance on him, after all dodging isn't the only available solution to making projectiles miss. You can always take a hit or two with the shield or if your character is good at it, jumping.

A valid tactic, but in my fights where the other player does that I just make sure that the closer I get the more often I shield and down dodge to leave fewer openings until I'm in range to go for the melee blow. But I can see how that works since thats how I used to beat a rather annoying Marth player, which was to constantly pelt him with projectiles all the while scooting backwards and laying down bombs over and over again.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

You know, if I had an opponent that was so predictable who used the same tactic OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER again,
I'd be overjoyed because then I'd know just exactly what to do
OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER again in order to beat his ass. But maybe its just me who likes easy wins.

More like, in comparison to practically everything but Temple, Final Destination is huge. And Temple is far from being flat. But, you know, thanks for the retarded insinuation that I haven't played it much, that really helps your argument.

Note that I never said I didn't want Final Destination in Brawl - in fact, I do. My argument was simply that it isn't the most fair level. You clearly must not have played against any players who are good with projectiles.

I like all levels and all characters dude. I just don't like playing the same thing over and over. Even though she'd kick my ass because she was good at least I got to do different things. That's why I play random character and random level every time unless someone has a hankering for a specific level. If I were to ever take tournament play seriously I'd have to be a Bowser player because that would have to be awesome and while difficult the challenge level and hilarity of Bowser would make it fun. Plus Bowser players get lots of respect. Not as much as Pichu players I'd imagine though.

But hey, at least we have on thing in common, the desire for FD to return in Brawl. It was just that FD seems like such a small platform to me and projectiles have never really been too much of a problem, so you're maybe right, maybe I haven't played against good projectile players. But by no means is FD a terribly projectile-overpowering stage.

Funny thing is whenever I play with my friends we always start out playing SSB with random stages, all items on, classic Super Smash. But eventually over the course of several games small petty rivalries emerge and before we know it there are grudges to be settled and the stage selection magically shrinks to pretty much just a small handful of stages (Final destination included and probably the favorite) and items are all of a sudden nowhere to be found. It always somehow devolves into that.

Heh, I've had a few folks who were like this and it definitely does suck a good bit of the fun out of the game. Randomizing certain things like AcerBandit mentioned is a blast, especially when you set items to high.

So what we have gained from this whole argument is that Yggdrasil is an idiot.

I'd have to agree with Starman though, Battlefield would be the most fair, but that doesn't stop it from being horribly uninteresting and the same goes for Final Destination. I am definately under the belief that better players are those who play with more variables and can act and adapt accordingly.
