Vemp: new TBG single coming like wut (12th December).
Don't think ELT have anything on the release list at the moment, but I'm sure something won't be far away. Hopefully both will release new albums soonish. P.S. LOVE PiECE = <3 Jam it back in, in the dark. |
LOVE PiECE is <3, and so is Angela Aki's new album: mucho <3. The Tokyo Jihen album is alright. I'm not as high on it. As for ELT, they had that single back in August, one year minus one day after their last single; and they're releasing another single at the of this month. TBG's on pace for their first album in over 5 yearsprobably next year. I think some kind of best-of is coming soon though. Good times in the wonderful world of J-Pop.

It certainly is. I also agree that Angela Aki's new album is <3
My recent delivery of goods was: - YUI - LOVE&TRUTH (Single) - Otsuka Ai - LOVE PiECE - Angela Aki - Today - Tokyo Jihen - Variety - Maki Goto - How to use SEXY A pretty decent haul I'd say. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
And in my good-time-in-the-wonderful-world-of-J-pop high, I forgot to make mention of the latest m-flo remix album. It's alright, though it ain't no DOPE SPACE NINE. And while I'm a big fan of electronic music, none of the tracks really striked me as outright amazing, but some are still <3. The second disc was nice though, a joyride through the all that was and is the meteorite flow.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
For those following and interested in J-Pop from the late 1960s to just after 1989, the eighth volume of randomly chosen songs is uploaded.
You can download it here track list:
Any feedback on this and other volumes is welcome, whether you are curious about other works from certain singers or the era in general. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Oh wow, this place had no activity in such a long time.
Anyways, to those who listen and follow the music industry of Japan, I would like to ask for recommendations. I used to listen to a lot of jpop back then (give or take 3 or so years). I enjoy rock/alternative bands with female vocals, such as Do As Infinity, The Brilliant Green, Every Little Thing, Shiina Ringo/Tokyo Jihen, Yui, hmm, I like some Utada Hikaru (since her songs aren't really that rnb-ish, or too sugary). Basically if you think you know bands/artists that belong to the same category, I would like to try them out. I guess I just kind of missed the jpop sound, and would to listen to it again. Yeah, this thread sort of went a bit dormant. I guess I tend to discuss my J-Pop stuff elsewhere these days.
As for your request Mr Vemp, to be honest I'm still listening to a lot of those acts, since a lot of them are about (YUI's latest album is rather good). Actually Shiina Ringo has a 2CD album of B-sides out, I believe it is, which I picked up and would heartily recommend as it is ace. FELIPE NO |
I just discovered Evil Musume today. Haha! This stuff is awesome! XD
Also listened to YUI's and ELT's latest albums, pretty happy with them. Nothing that can make me go "WOW" but it's all nice and happy. Or something. Gonna get some other stuff to try. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
