I believe this whole Y2J returning for No Mercy has a lot to do with the early selling out of the PPV. I mean they sell out..but it was a week after it was announced. Thats usually for WM lol.

And if they do that angle with the countdown while the WWE title match is going..

Wow, I can't believe Val Venis made an appearance on there tonight. It's crazy to see that he was an IC champion in the late 90s and now he's...I dunno. He should get another push.

Brian Kendreck.. I foresee a decline in this guys career. Or a fued with Paul London way down the line. Too early to tell now, but the past couple of matchs, he's been the weak link, which is NOT normal for me. LOL @ the moonsault off the ring apron by London. That mess was amazing. Looks like Umaga isn't going to mess with HHH while he has that hammer =D.

Val got many many many pushes in his career. IC champ, RAW manager(I think), etc. I see he is still good with the mic. I HOPE THIS GUY ISNT SLATED TO JOB to Marella of all people. :/ *look around*

Cena's injured. He's going to see Dr. Andrews to see how bad it is. Seems to be shoulder-related that happened in his match with Mr. Kennedy. If it's really bad, Orton's the new champ...

I can see it being more towards Jericho than HBK. I cant really see HBK coming back using some "savior" promo, especially considering how much they promoted his "retired from being kicked in the head too hard by Orton".

I dont think theres any evidence supporting that its not Chris Jericho, aside from the obscure new number sequence. Oh well, either way its win-win.

As much as I'd like to see Cena lose the title, so hopefully he'll become ruthless and battle rap, much like he did earlier in his career, having to give it up because of injury would just be...bleh...cause seriously...there haven't been any explosive title matches for a while.

Batista, Rey and Khali was bleh cause Khali can't wrestle.
The ECW title is more like...an OVW title IMO.
Taker beats Batista for the title and has to give it up to Edge due to injury
Edge gets injured and has to forfeit the title.

But now that I think about it too, any time Cena has gone into a high rated match he's always injured.

Cena v. Umaga LMS -- Cena has busted ribs.

But it would be really WEAK to see Cena lose it because of injury.

Dr. Andrews said Cena could miss between six and eight months of action. Cena was injured during his match with Mr. Kennedy Monday night on Raw. According to WWE physician Dr. Ferdinand Rios, Cena's injury was more serious than initially thought.

"He has a complete tear of his pectoralus major muscle," Rios said. "Because he’s so big, [the tendon tear] is behind the muscle. It was hard to diagnose."

Rios said Cena will be hospitalized for a few days to learn the rehabilitation procedure he must undergo. His arm will be immobilized for a week and then therapists may allow him to start moving it so that the arm doesn't become stiff.

Rios said that Cena is so dedicated to WWE that he wouldn't be surprised to see him return sooner than later.

"I suspect that John might be able to come back sooner [than most people with this injury], as he’ll train vigorously," Rios said.

Before visiting Dr. Andrews, Cena had said last night, “No matter how serious the injury, one way or another I’ll be ready to compete on Sunday.”

But despite Cena’s vow, WWE officials will not allow him to compete at No Mercy. Therefore, he must surrender the WWE Championship.

WWE officials vow that there will be a WWE Championship Match this Sunday at No Mercy and a new WWE Champion will be crowned.

Obviously WWE isn't going to throw their trump card -- Jericho -- into the picture...so maybe they could be "Orton will be facing an unnamed opponent at No Mercy" or something. That'll DEFINITELY bring in ratings...for people who don't know it'll be Jericho

Because of the nature of the title's abdication, whoever wins the belt will wind up being a transitional champion.

Despite being perpetually booed by bored fans, Cena is still Vince's golden child and whoever replaces Cena as champ will bear the stigma of not having truly earned it. This is bad karma for most of the headline wrestlers like Orton, Kennedy, Umaga, HHH, etc. The top-tier wrestlers all have too much clout to be that champion, the one who got the title only because Cena was injured. The fans don't respect that kind of victory, no matter how convincing and grueling the actual match appears. In the end, it's about wringing money from fans and they're just not going to shell out the dollars for lame duck-champ merchandise.

Watch the belt go to a semi-unlikely star, such as Carlito, Snitsky or, haha, Val Venis. That star will receive a small push and will later have to job to one of the bigger draws in order to put the strap on someone credible - most likely HHH.

Kennedy is a rough wrestler, alot like Ahmed Johnson(in other words you REALLY get hurt). The injury got worse when he did the STFU. Once he forced that arm to lock with the other, I know that was it. Just me - but Kennedys fast tapping was probably to keep Cena from fucking that arm up. Cena made history though 2 fold. WWE title for a year and in the end, he lost it to nobody.

As for Randy Orton. Big LAWL if this guy still doesn't get the title. Double LAWL if as the result of the injury, he's now to serve his suspension since his long coming title push flew out the window AGAIN.

Defintely a shame. After such a long title reign, it only seemed right that Cena lose it to someone.

If Orton's suspension was truly delayed, then he'll get it now with someone being a shock champion. The question is, who would be the shock champion. Maybe HBK? He's been rumored to have gone through some training with some younger wrestlers a few weeks ago so that would make you think he MIGHT be on the mends. And he has history with Orton, so it would only make sense for him to get payback by beating Orton, AND getting one last shot for the title.

A shame they couldn't have had Y2J attack Cena to put him out. Would make perfect sense storyline wise and would give Cena a feud to come back to.

The list of top faces is rather small now. Trips, um, err, hmmm. Ok, so trips is about it. I guess they could turn Kennedy face, and then re-turn him back to heel when Cena makes his return (or have Cena come back as a heel in annoyance for the fans booing him after he got injured, by accident, by Kennedy). The only problem is Kennedy's rep is shot after what has happened the last few months,.

And how ironic that the angle was trying to have Coach strip Cena of the title, and all was said and done, he was stripped of the title anyway.

Oh and Slash, McMahon DID win the title about ten years ago. He beat Trips and ended his first reign with help of Austin. I'm more surprised McMahon didn't just beat Booker T for the WCW title so that he could say "I held all the titles".

I hope Cena trips on a banana peel and needs another surgery the day before he comes back to a WWE ring. Anything to prevent another "OMFG, Superman!" PPV match or another wigger interview that tries so hard to channel the Rock (and fails miserably everytime) or the ridiculous "I'm so mad, I can't speak and just randomly beat up people" shtick. Anything to get some people I actually want to watch every night on RAW fighting for the title (yes, Orton is higher on my depth chart, but barely).

Edit: And LOL @ Val Venis with 10%. What the hell is up with Carlito not even with 1% though!?

The injury was already bad, but he had to finish the match. I'm sure the finish was originally called for the FU, but probably had to use the STFU for a "safer" finish. Remember the first quad tear Triple H had, but still went on with the rest of the match, including Jericho putting him in the Liontamer on the announce table. The other option they could have had was have Cena lose, but eh...

Also I second the LAWL on Orton.

Cena's out 6-8 months. This is almost terrible. The main eventers are each going out as one is coming back in for the same amount of time. I wanted Cena to lose the title, but not like this.

I'm going to go ahead and perdict between two outcomes.

1: Mr. Kennedy vs Orton. Kennedy wins and announces at No Mercy (or Raw) that he's the REAL son of Vince (or Hornswoggle's brother to keep Swoggle in the storyline)

2: Jericho/HBK returns and wins the title. Maybe DX is reformed if HBK comes back (or turns heel against Triple H, I don't see Trips being heel again for a while, if for the rest of his active career)
