On that note, today's update is a little video involving Pit... ugh.

YouTube - Pit's Descent

Get lost, Pit. Nobody cares, you pretentious little Tetsuya Nomura-designed faggot. Make way for some A-list Nintendo stars, will you?
You're such a cool dude for burning pit like that.

Otherwise I really like how they're leakin stuff every night, it pretty much justifies my sleep schedual, I no longer feel guilty or disgusting staying up so damn late!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

As the video plays, you can just imagine "Hikari" playing in the background just as Pit falls. Nomura-esque alright.

Diddy's moves? Yeah we all know how he could be played. Diddy's inclusion was a no brainer so let's reveal some out-of-nowhere character or something about online. This thread will be housing crickets if they keep updates like this up!

Its already housing crickets :P

With Diddy's up+B, after someone hits you it looks like the barrels will act as missiles. What will happen when you are trying to grab the edge and someone hits you with a weak attack but repeatedly (I mean the move is canceled and you can do it again) Missile rain? :P

I was speaking idiomatically.

I don't think you can activate the barrels again until the ones that just flew off you crash into something. I was expecting it to be kind of like Fox's up+B, doing fire damage, but it turns out you have some control over its movement. I wonder how long it lasts.

I think they're exaggerating a little; maybe getting hit is easier to avoid than they make it seem.

Yeah, way to forget to officially list the character. :\

Oh well, maybe we'll see how he differs from Kirby.

Well, I knew that this was going to happen sooner or later. -__-

Eventually, they will run out of things to release that were already shown in the first two movies. The Mario Kart Circuit, Meta Knight's Halberd Ship, and Pokémon Stadium stages come to mind for things that haven't been shown, so be expecting those. I also believe that Snake and Snake's stage won't be shown because I thought I read somewhere that Snake will be an unlockable and Sakurai won't post unlockables.

This has been a piss poor week so far. Pit's Descent was already implied in the Subspace Emissiary update when it said "The Adventure mode also emphasizes character development. You’ll see many famous characters persevering under the weight of their personal histories..." along with screenshots of Samus in her ship, an Arwing, and a screenshot of the recently posted video of Pit and Palutena. So...obviously each character enters the Subspace Emissiary their own way....meaning that something like what was shown in the video is going to happen in Pit's story anyway. -__-

Diddy Kong's moves are interesting, but it doesn't surprise me that he uses his items he acquired in Donkey Kong 64, since that would be a good source to draw moves from. The touches they put on Diddy's moves are pretty neat though.

....Then we get Meta Knight with absolutely no more information on him other than him being a character along with a cheezy description.

All I can say is that this lameness better be building up to something GOOD at the end of the week.

How ya doing, buddy?

It does look official, seeing that I haven't seen any of those character renders made public before this cover... But no Sonic? Or is he a secret character hence can't be on the cover? Or they just gonna photoshop him in later?

Or worst, all he got is that lame Olympics game where Mario can outrun him, and is not gonna be in this?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

They're not idiots. They never have or will put a secret unlockable character on the cover.

That would defeat the purpose. Oh, and in before "ZOMG NO WI-FI LABEL ON THE CASE"

I think if Sonic were in the game they'd definitely put him on the cover. He's too much of a selling point not to.

Of course, this just gives me hope that he's NOT in the game (please merciful god). But I notice there's still a bit of empty space on the cover, and if Sonic's in the game then this must've been an intentional leak, because they're not going to reveal that secret in such a trivial way. They'll announce it firsthand, THEN you'll see him on the cover.

Eventually, they will run out of things to release that were already shown in the first two movies. The Mario Kart Circuit, Meta Knight's Halberd Ship, and Pokémon Stadium stages come to mind for things that haven't been shown, so be expecting those. Why does it have to be limited to what was shown in the first two movies? Why would you want to see them in the first place? There's much more interesting surprises up their sleeves from what I've seen. Stuff like that WarioWare stage should take second seat to generic stages like pokemon stadium, is that what you're saying?

Also, looking at the second trailer again, the Mario Kart stage looks to me like just a story mode stage.

Um, isn't that how ALL the characters are introduced? Just their profile with a bunch of screenshots at first. The moves/final smash usually come later (but MK's moves were revealed in an earlier update).

Ok, I'm pretty sure SSBB itself is pretty much the only selling point you need. All these updates and that cover are just a tease, if they started showing you all the unlockable stuff it wouldn't be a cool as when you unlocked it. This is why it's such a great game, there's so many surprises to be had. Don't expect to know much about the game until it comes out.

And they're not going to put sonic on the cover, I mean Sonic is pretty much going to blow people away if you do unlock him. I can just imagine the thousands upon thousands of people who suddenly saw "Incoming New Challenger" with sonic's silhouette. Screams and orgasms abound. Why would the creator take that glorious moment away from us?

How did you even get all of that out of that paragraph I wrote? WTF?

Alright, look, all I was saying was that some stuff that has been directly and indirectly shown in the released media so far has been re-released as an update. (E.G. Link's Final Smash, Castle Siege, Meta Knight)

Therefore, they will eventually run out of things that have been shown to post "updates" with, meaning we will get entirely new content without worry that tomorrow's update will be something that we already know.

I wasn't saying that I want to see the known content as updates (very much the opposite in fact), nor was I trying to make a comparison between stages.

You seriously need to work on your reading comprehension.

Yeah, you'd think that, but it's not. Even if they sell one million copies, they'd easily gain more than half that based on Sonic being on the cover alone.

Because it's a marketing strategy? If it causes them to get more sales then they don't really give two shits about not tickling your inner nerd with a 'glorious special surprise moment'. They will do whatever it takes to sell more copies, regardless of one or two nerds screaming "SONIC'S SUPPOSED TO BE A SURPRISE DAMMIT HOW DARE YOU NINTENDO >8(" on webforums. That's just how it works in this business. They're Nintendo.

You seriously need to work on your reading comprehension.

Because we're all marketing experts who know the target demographic with such certainty that we can conclusively proclaim that Sonic on the cover would increase sales by a factor of 50%

Snake's not on the cover either, even though we definitely know he's in the game. His inclusion is a pretty big selling point too, I'd wager. The absence of Sonic on the cover really doesn't mean anything.

While I'd like to be proven wrong (Sonic confirmed before game launch = SOLD), I still can't shake the feeling that his inclusion would most likely be kept a surprise. Besides, a few hardcores who unlock him at the blink of an eye could just spread the word. Game sells beyond Day/Week/Month one, word of mouth would only help.

There's no "expertise" involved here, it's just plainly fucking obvious. The demographic is gamers, so obviously, the more third party characters revealed, the more fans that will play it.

I think you may be overestimating Sonic's value as a selling-point considering the utter shittiness of the last, oh, every Sonic game since Sega stopped building hardware.

It's also pretty delusional to assume that Nintendo will automatically do the "obvious" thing. NOT naming your console something that makes people laugh when they hear it seemed pretty obvious at one point.

I know. I never said that he's a good character, just an extremely popular one. I personally hate Sonic with the burning intensity of the sun's core.

Yeah, that's the thing. Nintendo will do whatever it takes to get more sales, I.E.; giving their console a "non-threatening" (oooooh...) name so it won't "threaten" their new retarded target demographic of soccer moms and 50 year old catholic priests, or in this case, deluded, idiotic furries who consider Sonic 2006 to be the greatest game of all time.

On that note, this is actually the first real 'game' for their console more than a year after it came out.

What I'm trying to say is this:

You know that Sonic would be an orgasmic addition to the series, at least for the people who really believed he would be in the GC version of the game. Although it is obvious you hate Sonic for some reason, I can't say it's a bad thing, we all have our opinions. I can remember back to the last two games which had one surprise after the next when it came to unlockables. I really loved being surprised, as do most people.

Yes, this daily update thing is great, but it is just a tease! The guy designing it (his name escapes me) obviously knows how to get his fans excited, which is a great thing.

Sonic in the game would be a more than wonderful surprise and keeping it a surprise would only create more of a devout following to this already extremely popular title (which, like I said, would be enough of a selling point than just the cover).

And about the cover, I mean look at it, you got all your bases covered there. The solid characters everyone loves to see and a few of the new ones. I mean, the covers of the last two games where the same way.
