Is that the giant green penis in a chariot with a dozen tentacles sprouting from the scrotum? A friend of mine got that as the secret character in one of those One Coin SMT figurine series recently, and damn that was freakish. I think it was called Mara.
Yes, it would be Mara.

It is both awesome and disturbing at the same time.

EDIT: Although now that I think about it... I guess the social link endings they added for FES would make it worth a purchase, aside from Episode Aegis.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I'd get FES. All the extras seem interesting enough. And with 30+ hours of gameplay? I'd be willing to dedicate my time into it again, I've already done 30+ hours on P3.

After looking at what exactly Episode Aegis is, I'd definitely buy it. That's actually pretty damn cool.

What's this (Element) Break bullsnot the Tartarus bosses are using now? It neutralizes your resistance to their element so they can 1 shot you within the next 2 turns. I start the battle with a Persona that has STR/NUL stat against the bosses specific spells, but they go and make that worthless after the battle's been going on for 10 minutes.. Then they kill me and I have to start over.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Not many bosses use that, but if they use it, switch in a Persona with Dekunda or use a Dekunda gem to negate those changes to your party.

Edit: Heh, finally managed to get Thanatos and without too much trouble, I got Die for Me! and Null Light on him. The Social Link was maxed so all I have to do is level him up once to get the 1H sword master skill, and if that wasn't enough, I got a peek at that level 90 Persona.

How ya doing, buddy?

Can someone help me out here? My copy is still sealed, and I don't want to open it right now. However, I'm tagging the US soundtrack, which I've done by taking the tracks from the JP soundtrack and tagging them if they sound identical.

I'm missing tracks 14, 15, 17, and 18. I couldn't find a tracklist of the US partial OST anywhere, so, maybe someone could tell me what the tracks are as described in your manual? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Just finished the game, and I have a few things to say:

- Aigis is pretty cool.
- I HATE one particular part of the final battle.

You're in for a treat, folks.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

This is one of the best games I've played in a while. I'm up to level 88 at January 6. I think my current personas I carry with me is,Melchizekdek,Metatron,Lucifer,Satan,Thanatos,At tis, Susano-o and Baalzibub. I got to floor 254 at lvl 71 I think. Then I just went to monad with Thanatos and used Die for me! on anything that didn't have repel dark. I think I gained at least one level per fight. I know if you get the 10 of wands you get around 20k experience from most of the enemies there.

You can also use Samsara from fusing Diasoujou with something to get Horus

Horus is one of my favorite persona because it also comes with Diarahan. Essential for anything.

In the upper 80's your xp drops in half in monad. If anything, keep away from samurai, tanks, the mage things, the castles and the large, sword holding statues. They all suck until you get Victory Cry.

I'm just curious. After you get Koromaru and company after that, are those random encounters of Death supposed to happen?

I could just be standing there for three seconds and then Fukka says, "I sense death!"

Is this supposed to be happening, or is Death still after me for a time I didn't encounter him?

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Is it a special floor or just a regular one?

On special floors (anything other than normal floors or the floor after a boss) Death appears in less than 2 minutes.

Even if you are in battle the invisible timer is still ticking.

You need to max the corresponding stat to date the girls (Academics to Mitsuru, Charm to Yukari, and Courage to Fuuka).

Stats are raised in all sorts of ways. Studying before going to sleep, drinking coffee, doing karaoke.

Finished this today. What an amazing game, definitely one of the best console RPGs of this generation (the best, in my opinion; way superior to Final Fantasy XII). Great localization too, and the voice acting was actually better than in the Japanese original, from the clips I've seen on YouTube (especially Aigis's gradually disappearing 'synthesised' voice effect).

I know that, wishful thinking aside, there's pretty much no chance of Fes ever coming outside of Japan, but if it did, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Or maybe I'll just download the Japanese ISO. Hell, I already want to replay it on New Game+, and I've virtually never wanted to restart a game right after finishing it, before.

Makes me regret that I never completed Persona 2 (I actually dropped it right after the first boss, for god knows what reason). At any rate, now I have to at least check out the other Megami Tensei games on PS2.

I heard FES actually lets you import your saved data from the original Persona 3 as a New Game+; which is great since most re-releases make you start over. Anyone else tired of companies making all these special/deluxe/substance/international/etc editions after you already bought the original? It always make me feel like I got the half-assed version now I gotta pay full price again for an upgrade..

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed (or enjoyed) this steady slide. Hell, even without the voice, her comments and whatnot reflected this too.

It's been said before, but the shrine thing is a good way to bump up academics along with staying awake in class/paying attention to the teachers/studying at night in class. It's probably the easiest one to boost, though to get a date with Mitsuru, max academics alone isn't enough. You've got to top ace the exams.

Well, given Persona 3's success, I wouldn't rule FES as an impossibility. ATLUS has showed an abnormal dedication to this series, and they might very well push for its release. But isn't it a smaller game, ie: expansion? Would they sell it for $20-$30 as opposed to the usual pricetag?

Getting ahead of myself, but still. Trying to be positive :3 Aard, I'm still a ways off from beating it thanks to intervention due to work... But what did you clock at in the end (how long did it take you to beat it)?

Uh.. that's because they created it. It's also the third most popular RPG series in Japan.

It seems like Atlus have no intention of releasing FES in English. I'm not going to hold out hope for it either. People don't even know Persona 3 exists. Then an expansion pops up and people go "wtf.", find out they need the original game in order for it to play, and say "forget that.". Unless they release the standalone version of FES, which would defeat the purpose of Persona 3 existing entirely.

Basically, they would have to release it as the append disc, forcing people to purchase the original, on top of the price being something like $20, and ~30 hours+ of dialogue to translate.. and for the amount of $20's they're going to be selling. It's financially not worth it.

I'm not really sure. I had 105 hours on my last save file, but it's not accurate because there were a bunch of times when I couldn't be bothered to go to a savepoint, so I just left the game on overnight or for the better part of a day. The actual time should've probably been closer to 60 hours, plus about ten more hours of unsaved time, considering how often I died in this game. So ~70 hours of actual playtime sounds about right.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

45+ so far. I just hit the 4th Block.

I haven't left it on too long, so maybe minus about 3-4 hours on that, and that would be my accurate game time.

For the sake of being a jackass, I just want to point out that Fuuka makes me think of Persona 3's voice acting as thousands of times worse than several atrocities throughout history. Yes, the Gong Show, American Idol, and Fox News... all quite possibly "not so bad" compared to Fuuka's goddamn American voice.

I like Persona 3, definitely not the Persona I grew up with but this isn't necessarily a bad thing as far as gameplay is concerned.
