Possible to remove the voice singing from songs...?

Hi

Does it exist any audio softwares that removes/lowers the singing sounds from songs? I'm asking because not all songs has instrumental versions.
I want to try to sing a few songs and upload them to YouTube

Jam it back in, in the dark.
Thanks to Fjordor for the funny image!

The best you can do is find a software filter to suppress frequencies that fall in the human vocal range on the center channel (most vocals fall in the center channel). The trouble is, there is legitimate audio information that is non-vocal that falls in the same range of frequencies, and those will get suppressed as well. There are also difficulties with vocals that do not occur on the center channel (left or right echos, or other vocals).

It can be done, but it probably won't sound very good at all.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

QFT

I've done some custom editing on this very issue, and let me tell you, it is VERY HARD to get something that sounds good. And it really depends 100% by the way the source song is mixed. So SongA might de-vocalize well, but SongB wont at all. It's completely uncontrollable.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Guess I shouldn't try it then
What about a site for instrumental versions of popular and old classic songs?

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Try Adobe Audition & Yogen Vocal Remover

I was speaking idiomatically.
