Man, time has not been good to Eva at all. =/

That demo was the shit. I love how the mags now have multiple pages that you can flip through. I wonder if there's different issues or if they're all the same. And I like how lifelike the opposing armies are, like the one guy getting scared and cowering just before Snake came to the rescue.

Hopefully by the time this comes out the PS3 won't be a piece of garbage. This is really making me want to get one.

Fingers crossed that games featuring antropomorphic antagonists aren't outlawed in Germany when it comes out... >_>

Am I the only one finding the ball-buster-knockout move a bit... I dunno... Strange? Seems this certain kind of slightly immature humour is seeping through more and more japanese media lately... (Or I'm just getting older... You never know...)

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Aside from the live demonstration of MGS4 and officially unveiling Vamp, Kojima also revealed another character returning: Eva:

http://tinypic.ca/files/uyfzjzamjknzexnwnz00.jpg
Holy crap! I did not expect a return from EVA at all. Haha, her bust seems smaller. Hmm, I wonder if she has the hots for Old Snake, haha.

Theres also a new Metal Gear game for cellphones where Sony will also release a special MGS edition phone with the game pre-installed. Alot of announcements about MG products including figures, food, drink, clothing...everything! I'm kind of wondering what these are as they seem like the Medicom 12" figures but I don't recall MGS2 Snake and Raiden ever being released so hopefully this is a new line:
Spoiler:
Hmm, they look more like resin statues to me. From the little sign in the pic it says "Ultra Detail Figure"... be cool if they are as poseable as the medicom ones (though doubtful).

Ahh, anyone know if there's a guide yet to the beta sign up?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

You're kidding, right? She was mid-twenties in SE, making her around 70-ish in MGS4. She does not look in her 70s, more like her late 40s.

(Or maybe she got facial surgery alongside her implants, or something)

I agree. It was unexpected in MGS2 and MGS3, which made it a 'WTF' kind of funny but now its too over the top. I can see the immaturity of this being abused online.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

That's actually an incredibly effective (as you can imagine) way to incapacitate someone. There was an old Chinese martial art I believe that had a move named "Monkey Grabbing Peach", and it consisted of pretty much grabbing the jewels like a thief in a museum. Supposedly it had variations that involved removing them ;__;

But anyhow, it doesn't strike me as humorous in nature. Strikes me moreso as a very ruthless way to down opponents. (but it will be funny nontheless)

How ya doing, buddy?

Wow. I have never had an urge to get any sort of action figure what so ever, but that Big Boss one sure is tempting.

If only they sold them at Target in the toy isle for like $7.99...

Just checked out the gameplay footage. Looks incredibly fun, I like how there's also a cross hair for when you're in over-the-shoulder view. Though I'm kinda bummed that Kojima didn't demo how weapon customization would work in the game.

BTW, in the new menu system (which was manufactured by Hal Emmerich, heh), Childbrowser, there's actually a Weather, Temp, as well as Wind speed/direction reading there. I wonder what that's gonna be for.

Man, I hope a demo pops up real soon on the PSN, as I don't think I can't wait till early 08 to get my hands all over this.

What's the beta sign up for? The online portion of MGS 4? And yes, I'd like to sign up to if someone figures out how...

Damn. That's the best looking game I've seen since Ace Combat 6. I like the part when he dives backwards and kills the guy on the roof. But the new "shimmy" sneaking move you can do when you're lying down looks idiotic. It looks like he's humping the floor. Too bad I'll use it against the new Metal Gear.

Also, is Eva going to be on My Friend's Hot Mom or what.

The gameplay looks pretty damn good.

One thing bothers me though, at certain points of the video....the movie Batman & Robin popped up in my head. Snake moving that shinning ass with that tight suit makes me wonder if Joel Schumacher was involved in some way.

Also, if this game is going to be epic, as they said it will be, they need to put Big Boss back in the game. Not as a corpse, but as a living individual. My prediction is that Snake and Big Boss will become one entity, the same as Ocelot and Liquid did.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

That movie was shit hot sexy. But somebody please tell me that the little 'shimmy' move didn't replace the old military crawl sneaking move.

Part of me wants to buy the game right when it comes out, but part of me also wants to wait for the re-release of MGS4: Subsiteancestance :/.

Well I finally just watched the HD version of the gameplay clip. Aside from being fawking good looking and happy at how solid and smooth it looked, one of the big things I really liked what the whole sound design and effects especially in the background. It just added a whole lot more to the immersion and I can't begin to think what it'll be like when playing the actual thing in my home...after I pony up the $500 for a PS3 first that is.

I was worried that we'd have to deal with more menus to access different camouflages as well as using the Octocam when they switch to the statue camo but then that was until I saw the capture of the menu and what they must of done beforehand and what you'll be able to do in the game:
Spoiler:

"Save Camo Pattern".

Yeah but for arguments sake it's possible they're tagged via the nanomachines which every PMC is supposed to be stuck with now and Snake's nanomachines may have something that simply overrides that. Of course it really doesn't matter since at the end of the day Kojima is finally giving the option that the fans have been asking for since MGS1.

It doesn't. You can see the old crawling move being used early on in the video when Snake crawls to the edge of a building to scope an enemy on the lower ground.

Now to make everything perfect all they need to do is announce a date for the demo and a NA release for this...

...and I'll be happy.

Holy crap! The demonstration footage is on the Japanese PSN! Downloading now (638 mbs)!

Now, we just need a damned downloadable demo!

EDIT:

Heh, on the merchandise side, looks like they're also making MGS1 Snake and Ninja Kubricks as well as MGS4 Old Snake and Raiden, plus a new MGS3 Big Boss. They look pretty cool, might try to get them, seeing as how I missed out on the MGS2 Kubrick.

Spoiler:

BTW, anyone else read up on the new MGO? One of the Konami reps described it as a "hide-and-seek" game. The new SOP system sounds interesting, you can find/see location of your team mates on the map (even if a wall/box is in the way, you'll get an x-ray sort of view of em). Apparently the SOP system can be used a weapon as well. When you kill an opposing player you can tap their info link and find out the location of the player's team mates. Another new neat feat. is that you can attack while you're on the ladder now too. They also added the ability to choke, not sure if I like that (sees the potential of it being abused). Oh and the game now supports 16 players total, making it an 8-8 team match.

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/807/807583p1.html

I wonder if MGO will be released before MGS4... The closed beta testing kinda hints at the possibility. Ahh, whatever as long as I can get a taste of the gameplay, be it from MGO or MGS4.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Perhaps there will be real-time weather and winds that will affect the battle field?

Saw the demo video, and it looked awesome, and I'm not even a major MGS fan, I only played MGS3 and it was using my boyfriend's save with unlimited ammo and shit... (I suck ass at stealth...)

But yeah, this game will defintly be a major hit for itself and the PS3.

It's a possiblilty! Ryan from Kojima Productions, and the same guy who hosts the Kojima Productions Report, said he's trying as best as he can to bring the set stateside. The thing only retails for around $60-70 and hell, even the import that was on Play-Asia is now completely sold out.

Yeah, gamersdye has up the HD 720p video up for download that is around the same size. I'm probably going to end up watching the thing a dozen times just to catch all the details...like say what looks like the option to switch between different ammo for the weapons.

The Kubricks look great especially Old Snake but I'm mainly after the Medicom guys. I passed up Big Boss when he was released with MGS3 and regretted it ever since so this time I've got my preorder in for both and won't miss out.

That Metal Gear collection is a waste of time, and only something that Japan would buy.

If they really cared about the anniversary, they would have remade all of the games in 1080p and 5.1 audio.

The gameplay was nice, but I hope that they implement more awareness in to the enemies... But I'm sure they'll do just that. The foes seemed very dense, and I figured Kojima would've made use of a silenced gun to down one of the fellas. Instead, SNIPER RIFLE BOOOOOM. Another guard strolls on by~

Looks real slick though. I just hope that this one scene doesn't turn out to be a special, staged gameplay scene =p Meaning few other scenes are as active as it. Because that seemed pretty cleverly played-out.

It seemed like the demo was being played in Easy mode along with infinite ammo and godmode which was more than likely for the sake of the presentation. Kojima did the same thing when demonstrating MGS2 & 3 as well.

I noticed when watching the video again that there is some weapon customisation in the clip, it's just Kojima skipped it during the cutscene when Otacon gives him the grenade launcher attachment. Just take a look at the weapons HUD before and after the scene and you'll see the upgrade.
