The character depicted is actually the main character!! So if nobody jumped at the sample then I guess no one's heard about it.

Hint: It's a 13 episode series (recently concluded) and a sequel to an old '75-'76 TV series.

Oh, and the original creator of the original series is Go Nagai.

Armed with that, I'm guna have to guess something to do with Getter Robo? I haven't seen the show itself, but if i recall the character in that shot looks VERY much like one of the characters from there. if not it must be GEKIGENGAR :P jk, but ALL of those Giant robot animes from back in the day had the SAME design for the main character, so its really annoying trying to identify which is which unless you have seen the show

Absolutely correct, especially when you take into account that at least 90 percent of all robot anime in the '70s and early '80s were created or designed by Go Nagai. I guess that "hint" wasn't much of a hint after all....

Yup, Acer's got it. It's Koutetsushin Jeeg, the 2007 sequel to the original 1975 Koutetsu Jeeg created by Go Nagai. The sequel takes place 50 years after the original.

I can't understand why hardly anyone is subbing this. I only managed to recently find a fansub group called Build Base Subs who have seemingly only subbed some episodes upto the end. Some episodes only have the subs made by them and you have to download the raws seperately to watch them...

that water screams Mars Daybreak to me for some reason....Ive only seen part of the first episode, so i cant even venture to say why. I should get on that, its still on my HD, but the stupid power here has been very iffy, so its hard to get ANYTHING done if you need power

that reminds me of the boat race between two companies that were competing to design a new boat from Daphne in the Brilliant Blue.
The design of the boats were pretty unique and it looks almost like it
