Zeta Gundam Trilogy

Camille Bidan highest junior rank expert to pilot a mobile suit. He then gets himself involved with AEUG and meets his Zeta Gundam

Quattro Bajina : Also known as the Red Comet and a ace pilot , Char Aznable and a few other names such as Casval Daikum and Edward Mass. During the One Year War of 0079, his Rival, Amuro Ray had a long battle with each other and faced many earth federation troops, and now he teams up Amuro to defeat the titans. As he disguises himself as Quattro Bajina, he helps both Aeug and the Earth Federation to put them in their place by becomming char aznable.

Emma Sheen : Accused as a Spy, Lt. Emma joins Camille and Quattro to fight against the titans.

Ensign Reccoa : in this movie, you'll see her in more action with her mobile suit and fighting along side with Camille and Quattro.

Gundam MK2 - piloted by Camille Bidan.

Gundam Mk2 and Hyaku Shiki(Quattro's mobile suit)

summary by ann
Quote:
87 years since the day when mankind first immigrated into space colony along the orbit of Earth, militarism had etched into the corrupting Federal government, once victorious in the One-year War, 7 years ago. In response to this situation, an initially anti-earth collision, A.E.U.G., started its moves. Chaos might be raveled again, and disturb the pseudo-peace of populated solar system, destroy youths and their romance. Heroes and the wise who experienced the One-year War might survive and fight with, or against each other's might, once again.
Zeta Gundam (to me) is a masterpiece. The Movies are a remake from the original 50 episodes, adding a few new scenes, enhanced character designs and probably the voice acting was redone by the same voice actors. I remember watching the series a few years back along with other Gundam animes like Mobile Suit Gundam Trilogy,0080, and 0083 around the time when Gundam Wing aired on Toonami. Though the movies (A New Translation and Lovers) looks like its missing a few things, you can hint at whats obviously going on if you saw the series.

Both movie 1 and 2 are subbed. For some of those people that dont like the original animation and can't handle it, watch the movie version if you want up to date animation and sound.

edit: editted a few information thanks to Rei no Otaku .

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I'm a giant Gundam fan, and Zeta is my favorite out of all the series. I have to say though that the movies were a huge disappointment. I would not recommend them instead of watching the series. Too much stuff was cut to squeeze 50 episodes into 3 movies. Though the worst travesty is the ending to movie 3.
Spoiler:
Kamille doesn't get brain fried by Scirocco, and instead we get a dumbass happy ending. Completely unacceptable in my opinion. If you want a happy ending you shouldn't be watching a UC Gundam series in the first place

You have a couple mistakes there in your post^_^
Quote:
Quattro Bajina : Also known as the Red Comet , Char Aznable and a few other names such as Zion Daikum and Casval Mass. He's one of the strongest Newtypes close to his One Year War Rival, Amuro Ray. As he disguises himself as Quattro Bajina, he helps both Aeug and the Earth Federation to fix up the Titans.
Zeon Daikun was his father. Char's real name is Casval Daikun. The Mass part I'm guessing you got from his sister, Artesia Daikun who went by the name Sayla Mass for a long time. Also Char is actually not a powerful Newtype at all. He's an excellent pilot, but most of that comes from his own skill. He is a NT, but compared to the likes of Amuro, Kamille, Haman and Scirocco he's not much of a NT.
Quote:
Zeta Gundam - piloted by Camille Bidan.
Actually that picture you have there isn't the Zeta Gundam. That's RX-178 Gundam Mk. II. That's what Kamille pilots for the first half of the series. In episode 21 he switches to the Zeta. Same with the last picture there. That's the Mk. II.

Finally most of the animation is old. Only some of the scenes were redone. So I wouldn't bother watching the movies instead if for some reason you didn't like the old animation (which is stupid since it looks fine).

There's nowhere I can't reach.

oooh yeah i forgot about that ^^;;. in movie 2 he gets the zeta. my mistake. also.. about movie 3..

Spoiler:
ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS THAT HE DIDN'T GET HIS BRAINS FRIED??!!!

im still gonna see it but if its like that then..damn ?

at least i got to see haman khan reanimated.

edit : yeah i know some of the scenes were old but you know..these days we got some people who are too gundam seed-addicted and they would do whatever to compare that with classics.

i await the movie versions of ZZ Gundam since thats the ONLY anime i haven't seen

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Zeon Zum Daikun is the full name of the father, and Casval Lem Daikun the real full name of Char Aznable. Char did apparenly go by "Edward Mass" at some point, I think that's mentioned in the novels.

I won't be watching the movies any time soon. The series was fine by me, and I don't like the changes that have been made.

Yes. Sayla makes a very brief appearence, and even has one line. The line is an old one from before her voice actor died.
Spoiler:
And yup, Kamille comes out of the battle with Scirocco unscathed. Him and Fa fly off together. It's ridiculously lame.

ZZ was a huge disappointment. The first half of the show is a complete joke. For example they made Yazan comic relief... One of the most ruthless pilots in Gundam history-.- The second half is quite a bit better since Tomino came back onboard, but it's just too little too late. It'll probably be released on DVD in the US after they finish the Z single DVD release.

The one I'm waiting for is V Gundam. An excellent series, almost as good as Z. Unfortunately Bandai seems to be too wrapped up pleasing the SEED fans. Ugh, I despise SEED. A disgrace to real Gundam.

V Gundam was truly another classic. i got that in a dvd collection . subs aren't that bad.

What pisses me off the most is that out of all the shit Bandai does, they NEVER ever talk about Gundam X. what gives there? X was a good series too despite it being cancelled in japan cause of eva.

so ZZ was a disappointment, huh? i really liked the opening , but the part where char and judau open their mouths was funny. i dunno. i only caught one episode of it. that being where judau found camille and thats pretty much it.

I never liked Gundam SEED. the very first opening of that show was good but after that, it sucked. what is it with all the sequels and specials.. god i wanna see a true Universal Century or Alternate Universe. or a Future Century..something like G Gundam. i wouldn't mind another mobile fighter. btw did you ever hear those old news about other stuff they were suppose to work on?

Mobile Soldier
Sequel of G Gundam or something different.

really..SEED gundam is not needed . i always thought of it being a mix of MSG and GW >.>...

Not that I really disagree, but are you actually saying that you don't find Yazan comical to a certain extent in Zeta? I found him to be amusing because his character was so much larger than life... He was a serious character, sure enough, but I couldn't help being amused by him.

I can't agree that it was too little, too late. I'd rather see ZZ redone with some changes, but it moves the story forward. It also has one of my favourite Gundam designs. I love the Double Zeta Gundam, in it's various forms.

Seems I could be mistaken. I didn't recall any mention of it in Mobile Suit Gundam, but then I've not seen the movies. Series only.

He was amusing in the sense that all psychos are amusing. That's about it. Kind of like Luca Blight from Suikoden 2. Yeah, the part where he made that woman act like a pig, then killed her, was sick but it was also kind of funny. That's how I saw Yazan. They turned him into someone no better than the little kids. Just there to elicit a laugh. I didn't like that at all. Not from the same guy who took out like half the AEUG pilots by himself, and even fought Kamille on equal footing at one point.

I'd like to see it redone too. Scrap the entire first half, and remake it. I'm sorry, but I don't watch Gundam for comic mischief like Judau stealing the Zeta every episode and Bright having chickens dance on his head. As for the ZZ itself, it was a neat design but it was far too bulky for me. Nu Gundam will always be my favorite.

It's the contiuation of F91. F91 was supposed to be a complete series, but it got squeezed down into a movie, and is pretty much unfinished.

Yea Crossbone Gundam is a continuation of F91. It's also one of my fav unites to use in Super Robot Taisen games.

You know, I find that fans of the original Gundam are usually the main haters of SEED. I personally love the old school Gundam stuff. Z is my fav, and I must say, SEED is downright garbage. I couldn't bear to sit through it... Anyone play Mobile Suit Gundam vs Zeta Gundam for PS2? Best Gundam game ever.

That's because we know what good Gundam should be like.

It just annoys me because everytime you want to talk to someone about Gundam they always talk about Wing or SEED. Two of the worst shows ever. UC fans are hard to find outside of Gundam specific places T.T

I guess it sorta depends on which one you see first. Oh, and note that Federation vs Zeon is in MSG vs ZG. If i'm not mistaken the american version of MSG vs ZG is three japanese games in one. I guess that's why it has that hellacious amount of content, and replay value.

I only knew about Char being Edward Mass from Tomino's comic found over at MAHQ's website:

I'm Quattro!

Pretty funny. Other comics are here.

It's not out on DVD, but it's out there on the net... it's worth watching. I mean c'mon, it's not great, but it doesn't suck entirely. I haven't yet seen it all though. It's just variable in quality enough to make me leave it until almost last

Quote:

Sequel yes, sidestory definitely not. It's quite a significant chapter in UC Gundam history... there are manga scanlations around, somewhere. I doubt they will ever animate it though...

This is true, and I wasn't making a point about his character in ZZ so much as I was just making a point that he was also an amusing character in Zeta. I think that's part of the reason why the ZZ scripts sort of badly misjudged how to chacterise him. That and the fact that Tomino had decreed that ZZ would be a more light-hearted anime, to offset the ending of Zeta.

i actually thought Gundam Wing was a decent AU series along with Mobile Fighter G Gundam being in second place. I mean i can sorta see the relation-the design of Zechs Marquise being a replica of Char Aznable. i totally respect the show for not being so kiddish or anything SEED-like. thats what saved the show. the characters and their attitude.

damn, i almost forgot about Gundam 08th Team. With that kind of animation, i didn't mind at all. It fit the characters mood, the tanks, weapons and lookin at the Gouf Custom in a up to date design (also piloted by the man Norris Packard). Its Gundam animes like these that get me interested. When i first saw seed gundam. i was focusing more into the characters...they didn't impress me like the UC characters did. when there's a war starting.. all of a sudden, a boy/girl finds a robot and gets entangled in a battle . I wish there was more to what happened with Shiro and Aina after their little story and battle against Ginneas. Even though its no longer needed .. they should've made a cameo appearance in Char's Counterattack.

edit : as for the Gundam games. i enjoyed the adventure ones for the ps2. but I loved the fighting games more . Battle Assault 2 was great to play. is there a 3rd game for it?

Yes there's a third battle assault game, but it's all about SEED, and it plays quite different from what I hear. I wouldn't call MSG vs ZG adventure at all though. AT LEAST give it a rent. One of the best things about it is you can play the entire timelines from Mobile Suit Gundam to Zeta Gundam with just about ANY character from either seires good or bad. That's not even the best part though. You can hit branches that let you change the course of history, and have crazy alternate "what if" storylines. For example (spoiler if you havent seen either series:

Spoiler:
I got Lalah to survive through MSG, and got to play with her in this very crazy Z gundam route. There's also a very insane route that has Zeon lasting into Z Gundam timeline, and Amuro, and Kamille are a part of the Titans.

VERY crazy, and fun stuff in there. The game also has a INSANE amount of suits to play with. ZZ Gundam is in the game too. I figure this is a game mainly for Gundam fans though. Someone who's never seen the series might not think much. Oh, and one last thing. The game retains ALL of the original music. They have Ai Senshi playing during the Jaburo mission. They have that awesome ending song that I forget the name of play during the last battle with Zeong. This game is just the total package, and ultimate game for any Gundam fan. Ok that's enough praise, and me going off topic. -_-

I got a question about the movie:

Spoiler:
Does Four survive longer?

I don't really know much about BA3. I've only been told a few things.

EDIT: Did a quick search. It's a mix of all series like before, but I hear this one plays VERY different. I wouldn't know personally though because I have yet to play it. Here is a list of the suits in BA3:

Turn A Gundam looks so strange. It would look out of place in there. -_- I actually wanna watch the series though. It has my favorite opening song (Century Color) other than the original Gundam opening. Just watching them all reach to the sky in the original Gundam opening is enough to make me crack up.
