Different User Preferences on Different PCs

So I use my profile both here at work, on my laptop, and on my desktop, and since I think our user preferences are saved in a cookie on our computers, I was wondering if there would be a way that I could set up a different look for the board on each computer?

Like, I'd want no avatars/sigs for my work PC, maybe lite set for my laptop, and full normal board settings with my desktop. I know it's possible for me to set it each time I change computers, but it would be nice to have a simple way for it to remember without me screwing around with it.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I'm not too sure of this, but I believe preference settings are stored in the database. This is only based on looking briefly through the database information of SMF and phpBB3, though. But I'm fairly certain that I'm right.

I'm not saying it isn't possible, but just saying that it's more than just "add stuff to a cookie."

There's nowhere I can't reach.

It might be a security risk to save settings like that through a cookie, or a big headache (what happens if you have multiple settings, and the cookies expire?) but it would be super awesome if this was possible. I'm so sick of switching between images on at home and images off at work.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

This would indeed be awesome. I have all images off all the time now simplt because I got bored of switching them back on at home.

I don't mind images off normally, until acer does something wacky with gifs or something. Then you're missing out, you know?

How ya doing, buddy?

I remember suggesting something like this a while ago and I'm pretty sure others have as well. If we can do this, it ought to be done. There are too many users that need this.

lol <3 u so much lurker

acer tags to enable wacky funtimes through this filter would be awesome but defeat the purpose, where's that damn bouncy approve gif when i need it? =)

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
