Rita's is ass compared to some of the local varieties I've had. I still remember one of my favorite childhood memories was going to the Vet to see a Phillies game and getting a lemon water ice on those really hot days when we had seats up in the 700 level and there's no shade in sight.

You should be fine getting a job that pays around $10/hr. In Pittsburgh you can split a pretty decent two bedroom aparment or a house for as little as $300/month a person, utilities are cheaper (except for gas if that's what heats your place, try to get somewhere that it's included or has good insulation), as should just about everything else. Just get used to having worse tasting fruits, though. Nothing beat what I would get from this farmer's market out in Irvine.

I was talking about UC Santa Barbara, actually. I flew out to there and Caltech to look at them for grad school and just couldn't stand the people at Santa Barbara.

Also, if you think public transit in Irvine was good, wait until you get out east where you've got the SEPTA system in Philly. You can take local transit to New York for pretty cheap or even out to lots of the suburbs for just a few bucks.
Yea, Ritas is is good, but not even close to the best. I used their link because I don't know of anyone else that has a website.

How ya doing, buddy?

I hadn't even realized that Italian ice is a regional thing until you made that post, too. A google maps search for both "water ice" and "italian ice" only returns Ritas places for the entire Pittsburgh region.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I didnt get the chance to really read this until now (and even then I skimmed it... daaaamn), but I have to admit Divest, what you're doing with the move takes a lot of guts and I respect that. While I dont believe that moving away fixes every problem, getting a change of scenary definitely helps when life throws shit like this at you. I'm looking forwards to it myself when I move to NYC after college, but thats still another year away (le sigh).

It sounds like you've already settled on the move, and reading this thread has made me realize what a great asset GFF can be for its members. You've already had a couple people offer assistance, which I think is amazing. Definitely cool.

Sounds like RR and Dragoon know more about the area than I do though. Good luck! =)

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Yes. Most definitely. Why do you think I like this place so much?

It's helpful members like Dragoon and others in this thread that really do make things just a bit easier.

I was speaking idiomatically.

After reading your situation, I have to agree with a few things Dragoon came up with. Here are some of my additional thoughts.

Take this as a life experience. Shit happens. But that doesn't mean you have to take it and agree with it. Harsh as it sounds, it seems like you let yourself get walked over like a mat. I know you're in a difficult situation, but no person, whether in a financial crisis or not, deserves to have shit flung at them unless you are stirring the mess itself. Since you're an innocent party, you shouldn't have sucked it up and got on with your band's unfriendliness (calling your guitarist back and agreeing with him is one). And since a band needs to have all players on good terms to be good, it seems like they just don't care about you or the band for that matter. In this case, you're better off finding another band. They made you out as the blame-for-all kid, and I'm surprised you stuck it out for as long as you did. Bad thing, you avoided confrontation by agreeing with them or apologizing for things you didn't do, and that just adds fuel to their dickery. You don't owe them anything. Tell them to fuck off and leave.

If you should learn one thing from this experience, it's to toughen up and don't be afraid to confront people when things get unfair or you feel you are unjustly treated. There are nice and mean people in this world, and you just ended up with some serious dickheads. That doesn't mean there aren't anyone out there who'll treat you like a real friend. For those kinds of people, you build a reliable network. As for the assholes, just ignore them and move on.

As for moving, go for it. You're better off with someone else than your guitarist.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Crazy ass weather.

Well, I suppose this thread holds no purpose anymore.

The friend that I was supposed to move out there with fucked me over and now I'm not moving anywhere.

I guess moving would have been too good. You know, can't be happy, afterall.

Thanks for your help guys, but since it was all in vain I'm closing this thread. Sorry for making you waste your words. =/

They were heeded though. Thanks again
