Saaawnic Rush Adventure

Quote:
SEGA Europe and SEGA of America today announced the development of Sonic Rush Adventure for the Nintendo DS. Sonic Rush Adventure will seamlessly utilise both screens of the Nintendo DS to navigate the high seas in search of pirate treasure, delivering Sonic's classic high-speed 2D gameplay in the ultimate Sonic handheld experience. Developed by SEGA Studios, Sonic Rush Adventure for the Nintendo DS will be available in Autumn 2007.

Sonic returns to the Nintendo DS in an all-new frantic adventure complete with dizzying dives, near vertical curves and brain twisting loops. Sonic Rush Adventure will retain the DS action that fans loved so much from Sonic Rush, as well as providing a new high seas adventure where Sonic clashes with ruthless pirates. Players will set off from Windmill Village as Sonic and blast their way through seven action-packed and widely diverse levels. Sonic Rush Adventure will make full use of the DS Download Play feature and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, which enables gamers to compete with friends in wireless racing and mission-based battles.

Players will speed through action stages to uncover valuable items and materials which all Tails to build new ships to help Sonic discover the high seas. With a fleet of up to five ships, including a submarine, water bike and hovercraft, Sonic Rush Adventure uses the Touch Screen technology in exciting new ways. Use the Nintendo DS Stylus to help control vessels as they race across the ocean gathering rings, performing tricks, and torching pirate boats, whilst engaging in fierce ship-to-ship battles. At the end of each level, epic 3D boss battles spanning both screens will test gamers skills to result in an ultimate showdown with the evil pirate, Captain Whisker (laffo).

Sonic Rush Adventure allows players to bounce, fly, swing, ride and run through grand environments of lush forests, an ominous ghost ship, snow covered mountains, pirate villages and a vast underwater sea cave. Along the way there will be a variety of enemy characters to battle against including robots, skeleton warriors, pterodactyls, and a robotic triceratops.
oof

So it seems to be Sonic and Tails only, which is good, and it's online.. but.. controlling hovercrafts and subway sandwiches? Oh man, that could be a mess if they break up the platforming too much. Who the hell is Sega Studios these days? The Shadow team? Please reduce the bottomless pits of doom in each level by at least 95%, love Infernal. Also I wonder if the Jet Set dude's doing the soundtrack again. RIGHT THERE, RIDE ON. :]

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Sonic Rush... Adventure? What, have they run out of game titles, so now they're just going back and combining their old ones?

COMING SOON: SONIC ADVENTURE HEROES RUSH BLAST AND THE TRIPLE TROUBLE SECRET RING RIVAL RIDERS BATTLE R

I also like how it looks worse than Sonic Rush. Where'd Dimps go? They actually managed to put together a decent game. Hopefully this will be playable too.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

This is sounding like another Sonic and the Secret Rings type story. Why isn't Eggman the bad guy anymore?! Sonic Rush got it right, why do we need a boss like Captain Whiskers?

However, the gameplay sounds promising.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

SEGA Studios is the former Sonic Team USA, developers of Sonic Adventure 2. It's led by Takashi Iizuka, who created the Sonic Adventure series and Sonic Heroes. I hear they're the ones developing the new NiGHTS.

Sonic Rush turned out good, so maybe this one will as well. I don't know.

Is Hideki Naganuma involved? That's all I care about, really.

I'd support that, just to see them fit it all on the box AND have Sonic in his typical tough guy/pansy 'caught in the middle of a dance' pose.

Because Sega's lost the plot. ='D PRESENTING CAPTAIN WHISKERS.

Here's to hoping that it's just another one of Eggman's creations or possibly Eggman himself under that robotic armor. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

SEGA Studios is the former Sonic Team USA, developers of Sonic Adventure 2. It's led by Takashi Iizuka, who created the Sonic Adventure series and Sonic Heroes. I hear they're the ones developing the new NiGHTS.
Alright, now it's starting to sound more promising. I loved the Adventure series and while Heroes didn't match up to it, it was still a good game. I want to say it's in good hands, but I'm not sure.

Probably won't be hearing any Crush 40 this time around, either. Damn.

Sonic Heroes is as close to I've gotten to getting everything I wanted in 3D Sonic (running around REALLY fast with decent level design), so I look forward to this.

I come home to see this!?

Villain disturbingly similar to Eggman, 2-D gameplay possibly broken up by submarine gameplay and the team behind this is Sega USA OH GOD NO THE FIRST 2-D SONIC FAILURE?!

The graphics look crap. The water surfing bits might be cool, like they were in Crash 3 yeah? As long as 'adventure' is part of the title, this game is probably destined for failure...

Hopefully because they're throwing the character design in the bin!

I'm not at all surprised about a new character coming in to play. They've been doing it since the Genesis days, but a raccoon? *sigh* I really don't see it happening but somehow a few Super Mario Bros. 3 fanboys are already going to be pissed about this. 10 bucks says she'll be able to fly.

That was their Secret Rings promise, and that took all their willpower, like giving up smoking! So now they're back on track to fresh new faces!

Infernal bumps another dead Sega thread today coz kksjfsjkfs Gameplay video. Looks and sounds just like the first which is good. Hopefully there are less pits of pitty doom. Still no sign of that stupid new character that's already a HENTAI SUPERSTAR.

One Piece knockoff? Sonic needs more crazy Gomu Gomu no/Gum Gum antics and Devil's Fruit before that happens.

Lovin' the bosses. And the level themes. Sonic CD and Advance 3 just might have something challenging them for most unique feel....

But I'm holding reserves on gameplay until it's in my hands when it launches two months from now.
