I wanted to change the name of my Turtwig in the beginning of the game, so I did...but then I decided not to. Little did I know, I put his name in normal casing (one cap and rest lower) and I completely forgot that the pokemon's name changes...so now I have a GROTLE named Turtwig. LOL.

Anyway, fun fun fun. I love Pachirisu. Gotta love PICKUP. Got 3 Hyper Potions already even though I've only ONE badge, i.e. not far.

I also decided to do the in-game trade for Abra, so I got it to evolve just for him to IGNORE ME. Kinda funny though, because it only has two moves so because I was trying to use confusion, he would teleport. Well, select teleport and he will actually do what you want, CONFUSION. Heh...although it only works when the pokemon has only two moves. And then there's still that random chance for it to do nothing.

And I also press START when trying to open the menu...it's annoying.

What route is Pachirisu in, and is it available day or night? I didn't see a single one when I played last night and I can only play for an hour in the morning. I work 11-7, which takes off a huge chunk of the day. Pick-Up is the best darn ability ever. Back when I played Sapphire, I had an entire team of Linoones picking up awesome items while training a teammate. They sure saved me a lot of money, I can tell you that.

At least you can change nicknames later. Wheee...

I got a cute little Buizel on my team. My little sister traded it over along with a Bidoof. They ignores me of course, (I forgot about that) but I do the switcharoo to level them up in the meantime.

Note: if I battle with other people, will my traded Pokémon still refuse to obey me if I don't have the right badges?

Oh, and I tried that accessorizing thing today. It's so cute! I dressed up Raine (my Buizel) and hung it up. If I mix records, I can see photos other people made. I want to see yours! ^_^ I haven't gotten a Friend Code yet. I'll set it up tonight :3

P.S. Can you make more than one photo?

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Pachirisu can be found in the field right next to the Valley Windworks building. I got mine during the day, though it can have one of two abilities, much like Ponyta.

It'll either have Pickup or Run Away. The latter of which sucks.

Also, are there any decent Psychic or Fire types before the National Dex? I want my Ralts and Abra, but I need to wait for Pal Park to get those. Got the water starter, but I can't really find a fire or psychic pogey yet. =\

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Ah I see. I was at the place you mentioned this morning on the way to work, but I had to quit as it was near my stop. Guess I won't get the buggers until tomorrow then, but I'll try tonight also and see if they show up.

Run-Away sucks. It also sucks that Furret has that ability and not Pick Up. In real life, ferrets love to steal things not nailed down and hide them somewhere else, so they would've been perfect for Pick Up. Bah.

As for decent psychics, I think my little sis said a NPC offered to trade his/her Abra for a Machop. I saw a Psyduck in the cave close to the town with the first gym. Never used them but people say Golduck is awesome, so there you go.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Abra is a "uncommon" pokemon that is roaming around route 203. There is also a NPC that will trade Abra for Machop.

As far as decent fires... the ONLY fire I've seen is Ponyta. Ponyta and the starter.

Neither of which are really decent =/

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

IIRC, the only fire type before National Dex (or at the very least, for a long time) is Chimchar.

BTW, the starters are lame due to their early movesets (except Turtwig, that line has the lowest speed of ANY starter to date). Just looking at Infernape, for example, you can see the sucker comes into his own real quick. Unfortunately, you have to wait a long ass time for that.

I have a Ponyta at present, but his being level 20 and only having Ember is pretty... garbage. Tail Whip AND Growl? Yikes.

But yeah, I'll go try to snag an Abra; though, I forget the best way to do it, due to that blasted Teleport. Are they just something you huck a Great Ball at and pray?

Psyduck should be interesting, at the least.

There are a ton of Ponyta from Routes 206, 210-South, 211, 214 & 215. I leveled my Geodude off of them :P

No good moves though (fire ones anyway)

Also the new Safari Zone sucks dick. What is up with this marsh crap, I sink every few steps.

Not too bad though I guess, if I sink in the right location where the pokemon I want is in I can infinitely stay in the SF until it comes up.

Best way to get Abra is to Taunt it, which will force it to stay around for 2-3 turns. Probably not long enough to get things done but it helps.

I've caught about 10 Pachirisus and only 4 of those had the pickup ability. They do appear at night, but they might have a lower encounter rate. I met a lot today in the morning. Yesterday night, not so much. Could just be my luck.

Meh, I picked up a level 4 Abra this morning by just throwing a Poke Ball at it. Caught it first try.

My method was undoubtedly more based upon luck than anything.

I haven't even started my game, but I read yelling "Gotcha!" into the mike will double your chances of catching a Pokemon. But you have to yell it the moment the ball comes in contact with the Pokemon.

Weird, but a random NPC mentions it later... I read it on Gamestop, so sue me.

OMG Thanks!!!!

Okay I am confused about something though, concerning the Pal Park or whatever it's called.

From what I stated earlier, I have five Linoones in Sapphire that I use for Pick Up. I gave them all four letter 'Z' names, like Zero, Zack, etc. I want to bring them to Diamond for item hoarding. Sure, I can use those squirrels, but my Linoones are special to me >_> I select them one at a time and they end up in the Pal Park, right? Then I have to go running around the park and attempt to catch all five? Then once caught, I can now use them whenever I want?

Oh and I caught two of those squirrels. They're pretty uncommon at night apparently, and both fortunately had Pick Up. I got Great Balls and Super Potions so far.

I want a Shiny Sandslash/Sandshrew so bad. Hopefully someone at GTC can trade me one. I got a Shiny Spearow and Fearow that I can give up. My Shiny Furret is off limits though ^_^

P.S. What Pokémon can learn Rock Smash and Cut? I need a HM slave!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Yeah. When you import a Pokemon from Ru/Sa, it's sent to the Pal Park, where it must be caught. The good news is that the balls have a 100% capture rate and that the Pokemon will be exactly as it was when it was in Ru/Sa. The downside is that once it's in D/P, it can't go back. Transport is one-way only.
There's no set time for how long it takes to find your Pokemon in Pal Park. I presume it's random, but I wonder if it makes you simply run around forever or if it sends an endless bevy of Rattatas and Pidgeys at you to keep dashing your hopes.

There are rumors that D/P can detect illegal Pokemon, such as ones caught with a Gameshark in places they don't normally appear, and mysteriously cause your Pokemon to "vanish" in transport, but this is unfounded. So if you used a Gameshark to catch anything, you should still be okay.
(And any smart Gameshark user will have used the Lavaridge Egg codes to acquire the Pokemon they desire, which circumvents any detection of hacking since eggs can hatch anywhere.)

Meh. It's night time here and I'm outside the Windmill Valley place. I'm running into Pachirisu left and right. They don't seem that uncommon in Diamond at all.

I'm gonna guess that Bidoof is a good HM slave. It doesn't seem to be of much other use. Kricketot can learn Rock Smash and should be able to use Cut also, so that's also an option.

Weird. I see mostly Buizels in that area, and rarely any of those Pachies and Sluggies.

I checked a pokedex at GameFAQs after you mentioned names, and wow, Kricketune is a better HM Slave than Bidoof, being able to learn Flash, Cut, Strength AND Rock Smash. Thanks for the help! Bidoof only knows Cut and Rock Smash.

Oh, and thanks for the Pal Park help too.

Stick with Bidoof.

At lvl 15 it evolves into Bibarel.

Bibarel can learn:

Cut
Surf
Strength
Rock Smash
Waterfall
Rock Climb

Just not:
Defog
Fly

I don't really intend on battling anyone, but if there's a particular Pearl creature you are looking for, I don't mind grabbing one (except Palkia lol).

4 Gyms done, but I couldn't progress because I did it at like 2AM so the person I am looking for is not awake at the time. Or maybe I'm not supposed to go hunt him down who knows. I'll find out later today. Might as well use the time though to train up my Alakazam for the 5th gym, although I thought about using Dark type, I don't have one. Well I got a Murkrow from Icetron but the Darkness moves take a while to get... and the evolved form gets superior moves (but no darkness stone at that point in time unless you have some Lv 31-100 pokemon with PickUp and get lucky - but that's alot of Pachirisu's to get, and hope they carry that ability before you train them :P).

The honey I smothered on like 5 trees should be picking up some creatures soon, really hoping for female Combee (12.5% what) and Munchlax.

Off to class I go, hopefully that stupid person I need to find will show up, because I can't go to the 5th Gym until I'm done with him -_-

Argh. I wish Game Freak would stop making new HMs. You only needed to use Waterfall a total of like, 2-3 times in the entire game. What was the whole point of that? Now I need more HM slaves for HMs that I'm only going to use once. Booo.

Oh man, addicting! It was turning daytime outside by the time I stopped playing last night >.>

I can't believe this Abra is gaining SP Attack at such a ridiculous rate! In less than 30 minutes it went from lvl.4 to lvl.13 thanks to Hidden Power vs. Rock monsters. Looks like I'll have my beloved psychic to keep for the entire game after all.

I decided to get a Magikarp despite the mass exp needed for lvl. up and being stuck with Splash until Level 15. Should I put in the effort now, or is there a area later on where the Magikarp you catch are level 15?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'd say it has more to do with what kind of fishing rod you're using as opposed to what area you are fishing from.

Oh no, I know that the Old rod only nets Magikarp but I remember they were either Level 5, or Level 15 depending on where you fished in the other games. So before, I just got a level 15 Magikarp so it would evolve into Gyarados with only 5 levels instead of 5. Unless I was just fishing with the Good Rod in a certain area.
