Somehow you guys manage to miss:

Oingo Boingo
The Smiths
Simple Minds
The Thompson Twins
Ozzy (I know you mentioned Sabbath, but the Ozzy solo albums with Randy Rhoads were fucking awesome.)

There were also a lot of awesome Genesis albums released in the 80's.

However, unless the majority of you guys are way older than me, there's no "reliving" as the thread title suggests. I didn't get into listening to most of these bands until late high school, which for me was the late 90's. I mean, Only a Lad came out the year I was born, so it's not like I was rocking out to it then.

I guess you could also count NIN since Halo's 1 and 2 were released in the late 80's.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Really, most of the '80s music I listen to is either American punk/thrash or highly experimental electronic stuff which doesn't seem to be what you're looking for.
A lot of the 80's stuff I listen to is punk(ish) too. Bad Religion started in the early 80s as well as The Pixies. The Damned and The Replacements are some of my favorites but my absolute favorite from this era is Mission of Burma. You guys also missed The Cult somewhere on that list.

However, the bulk of the 80's stuff I listen to is the disposable pop that was released in those times. It's my guilty pleasure. SHUT UP!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Whenever "The 80's" come up, the first song I think about is The Hooters - All You Zombies. Love that song, awakes many memories

Whoops I misspelled it. I'll correct it...

Oh, someone called in during my DJ shift and requested for them. I actually never heard of them. But he was also asking for the Stranglers, which I played instead.
For shame. Get thee a copy of Too Dark Park, asap. One of most mind blowing albums you'll ever hear.

Hey, I had them on my list! Can't believe I missed Oingo Boingo though.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Heh, nothing wrong with that...For the most part, I find the majority of these pop acts far more listenable than the disposable stuff from the 90's and more recently, although there is a lot that isn't worth it. I just think of the 80's as a time of mindless, but talented fun...I have a much harder time identifying with anything that originated in more recent times (the 90's were none too kind to Cyndi Lauper or Iron Maiden either...). I guess I'm just a helpless victim of the New Wave scene...

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
I'm taking over this town...
I'm screaming for vengenace...
I'm shouting at the devil...
I'm not dead and I'm not for sale...
Ain't lookin' for nothin' but a good time...
