I'm still awake for this playoff game. Amazing game thus far really. Dallas really carried the play for the bulk of the 2 overtime periods (and even part of the 3rd). The Vancouver finally made some significant scoring chances in the mid/latter 3rdOT. Can't wait for the 4th OT to get underway.

Edit : Sedin twins ftw.

Finally, at the end of the 4th overtime, Henrik finally ends this game. Welcome to the playoffs, Luongo!

Epic overtime games are great...if you don't have to work the day after.

Man, what a start to the playoffs. While watching the Canucks game I kept thinking about how many times we would've lost by the end if we still had garbage Cloutier in net.

Thankfully, I don't have to work until Friday, so I was home free for this overtime thriller.

Cloutier wouldn't have even managed to get the Canucks to the postseason, let alone make the 70+ saves in a game one of over two games. Being a fan of a Southeast divisional team, all I can say is thank you for taking Luongo away from the Panthers. He was quite the thorn in the Lightning's balls most of the time.

It's too bad the game ended when it did; Luongo was 2 saves away from setting a new single game save record. =( Oh well, the win is still all that matters in the end, I guess.

Even though last nights performance from the pens was abysmal, there are some interesting facts to look at.

The Hurricanes lost their first 2 playoff games last year. One of those games being a 6-1 loss. And well the won the cup.

Another thing is the Senators have won the 5 first playoff games in their last 6 appearances and well we all know what became of their playoff runs.

How ya doing, buddy?

Well, I honestly believe that the first game in the playoffs has no bearing on the actual series and the matchup. I would say by after 2 or 3 games, you can get a better judgment on who is the better team or will make it past the first round.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'm kind of glad I didn't watch any games tonight and had to work, because looking through tonight's scores, no one I wanted to win won.

At least Detroit's up 1-0!

AWESOME! Islanders won a game! Looks like the guys who pick Sabres in 4 lost a point. Hopefully, the series is Islanders in 7 and then I get 3 points that no one else will get! Yay!

Damn, I got called into work to cover for someone and ended up missing the Bolts/Devils game tonight. From what I've seen in the highlights and been told, Holmqvist played extremely well and Lecavalier has been fantastic in the opening two games here. Of course, he along with Marty St.Louis and Brad Richards account for 85% of our offense.

So far, this has been a pretty thrilling pace for the playoffs. I hope it continues. Might/Should get to go to a TB/NJ game on either Monday or Wednesday.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Sabres - 1, Refs - 1

And I am not just referring to the wrong call that led to the powerplay, which led to the game winning goal. Hi Satan, nice holding the stick.

Crosschecks left and right no calls, roughings, etc.

Looks like Koharski got paid off again. Thats all right though since the Sabres will play too good the next three games for non-calls to even make a difference.

The Flames lost again. Hopefully they can turn things around at home and eventually win the series at game 7.

Yeah. Calgary has seemed pretty dead. Looks like some of their spirit has left since losing to the Lightning a few years ago. They just haven't had the same push and grit they had that year.

Man, Eaves just got crushed with a huge shoulder to the head by Armstrong; it looked like he was unconscious before he hit the ice. Hopefully he won't have bad post-concussion syndrome and will be able to return soon.

Hit was clean all the way, just too bad a guy got hurt like that.

Yeah well, who can win against the all almighty Ottawa Senators?

Anyways, I have to win my pool predicitions and that is, Ottawa is going to win this round in 6 games.

I know Emery has the talent to get all the way to the cup.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

What is with the Ducks and the Wild during the playoffs. At least we're actually scoring this time around. Please stay out of the net, Giguere. I dislike you.
