Square has always been loyal to the companies they make titles for, and have yet to jump ship on a console after making their choice for flsgship system. That said they also choose their flagship system based on hardware potential and Japanese market share (i.e. jump from N64 FFVI remake to PS1 with FFVII). Seeing how the PS3 have both of thoes locked down, I think it's safe to say that SE will keep the main titles on the PS3.

![]() Oh, and background downloading is pretty spiffy. It literally just sits in the background and plugs away. You can also queue things up. Apparently the downloads persist through playing games and movies as well. Additionally, developers have the code to access your PSN friends list within a game now, and so Motorstorm will be recieving an update to allow for in-game friend list functionality on Friday apparently. The next step of course is to allow access to the XMB while ingame, or have universal messaging/invites for all online games. Most amazing jew boots |
This is total speculation but Sony is calling the PS@HOME and LBP parts of their gaming 3.0 plans. So is that just their project name, or is that firmware 3.0 and there's going to be a big 2.0 update in between?
Secondly I can't get the folding@HOME to connect to the server. Is there something I need to set? Finally if it's possible to set up teams, perhaps we could get a GFF folding team going. FELIPE NO |
The console is released in the UK tomorrow. Being a PC gamer myself, I don't keep up with consoles, and even if I was to miraculously buy one it would be in at least a few years. What's the overall opinion like though?
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
I'm heading to GAME at midnight tonight to pick mine up. Think i'll probably get Resistence and Motorstorm initally, then VF5 next week. Can't wait, no sleep for me tonight.

well after reading that slayerx downloaded the update in 4min and that I look mine and in 15min I was only at 30% I decided to go wired...The cable was just long enough to go from my ps3 to my router XD and so I launch the download... 5min later it's done ; ; I knew it was faster but that much XD
but people that have the 60gb do you kind of feel bad to use wired connection when one of the "special feature" of the 60gb was the wireless connection? XD How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
Kind of yes. But since this is the same with all wireless connections I guess I can't really complain, seeing how I knew what to expect. The update downloads are the worst though, game demos of the same size tend to download quicker then the updates so I don't get it.
IMPORTANT For thoes who are helping with the folding@HOME project please check out my thread in Sony Scape. P.S. If someone could also make the folding@HOME thread and "important" one too, that would be GREAT! This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |

Just be careful on your way home, especially if you live in a not so pleasant area. Seriously you can probably expect a few gangs to be waiting outside the Game stores accross the Uk waiting to smack customers silly to get their shiny new PS3. From Gamespot

like I said either one I'll still get the game, what is worst is when one exclusive become the exclusive of another console... but that will surely surprise me if Square-Enix decide to go multi-platform for FFXIII, but I can already saw the publicity: Final Fantasy XIII the first multi-platform final fantasy! or something like that XD
Additional Spam: oh btw anyone know when all the new demo will be online? will it be today or tomorrow? or next week? XD Most amazing jew boots ![]()

It does make sense for Microsoft to bid against Sony aggresively in regards to FFXIII because it is the key to the Japanese market.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
This is true, however the Japanese unlike North Americans have a larger sense of loyalty and honor, even when it comes to business. I'm sure if MS does try to secure FFXIII that it won't be the first time that Square has dealt with the (FFXI). MS has already tried to buy Nintendo and Capcom, despite the large amounts of money so I don't think we need to worry about SE too much.

You have a point that is culturally true, but look at Capcom (DMC 4) and Namco/Bandai (Ace Combat 6), two power houses in the Japanese games industry; Square Enix could follow suit lest us not forget the jump from Nintendo in the 90's and a repeated statment of liking to develop for other systems. I agree with you, I still believe that it will stay an exclusive as Sony will fight tooth and nail to defend one of their jems, and it does seem once square make a commitment they do keep to it. But it would make sense for Square unlike the last generation to go multi platform because of the shear competiveness in the next gen market; they will be cutting off a large supply of revenue if they didn't. This is unlike last time when the PS2 trounced everyone they could afford for it to be exclusive to Sony. And that is very significat, so many boards I've read people are buying their PS3 to specifically play FFXIII but why pay £425 when you can pay £289 for the pleasure. It by no means is a disaster for Sony but alot of people will opt for the lower price tag. One thing for sure is if this is true it does give consumers great choice without hurting their wallets with not having to buy another system just for those few games they want to play, whether it be Sony, MS or Nintendo. Midnight launch was a complete disaster here apparently.

![]() I guess that's what happens when you think you can get away with charging ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS and not spend a cent on advertising it. ![]() Jam it back in, in the dark. |
hmm yeah my friends in Europe are pretty pissed by the fact that Sony think 1$us=1euro which is not the case...
I'm not sure if this midnight sell failure will be bad for Sony. let,s see how the ps3 will sell over the next week... one thing I heard is that the European playstation store opened today and people from NA created some european account and manage to get the free casino royale blu-ray that came with the ps3 (the movie is still not realease there). There's 500 000 copy of this movie for about 1million ps3 in europe and only the first 500000 will get it. So I feel bad for some people that may not get it because of that... What I don't understand is the movie will probably be in the B region code, so unplayable on japanese and us ps3 >.> on another note, I saw some people playing oblivion, can you guys tell me how it is on the ps3? I try it a little on PC but I don't know it seem more appealing to have it on a console and the ps3 version seem pretty good but I'm not sure if I should get it... How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
The PS3 version if perfect. It is the game with some of the extra content and the Nights of the Nyne expansion. It has improved loading times and performance. Further draw distance. Improved textures. If you've beaten one of the other versions there's not much reason to get it for the PS3. However I had it for the 360 and I couldn't play it because of the stuttering performance, so I just waited for the PS3 version. I'm glad I did.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
great I might buy it then ^^ but is it true that the ps3 version will not be able to get any extra download?

That's not true. Bethesda that they will have downloadable content, they just don't know when or how yet.

http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/5...311copygm7.jpg http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/2...321copyek3.jpg I don't know all this haystack is coming from how SONY and SQUARE would lose customers and whatnot. They simply do not care, they do what they gonna do, and thats how they roll. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
we all know that FFXII is for ps3, what we are saying now is there's some discussion that FFXIII might go multi-platform, so it might be release on the 3600 too...
oh and great for the oblivion download. I think I'll pass by the Ebgames next week ^^ FELIPE NO ![]()

Whatever. Multiplatform or not, I always get the source version of a game, unless they actually take the time to make the port as good or better then the source (ie. Oblivion -PS3). It may be selfish to some, but when it comes to games all I really care about is MY experiance and that popularity stuff can go to hell. However I never let facts be mixed with conjection and that's been happening a lot lately with people and the PS3.
I just wanted to post this up for you Inhert and for others who are interested. GameTrailers just posted their 360 VS PS3 comparison for Oblivion which you can either look at it as a VS or simply for improvements, doesn't matter. Noticable parts are people in general, draw distance details, and X360 object spawning in plain sight. Unfortunatly they don't stick with any one scene to show the stuttering of the 360 area loading and the near nonexistance of the PS3's. However we know they're there, that's all that matters. wow, have fun not playing games. Ewww...look at the 360 popping in that geometry over the hill and on the ps3 its already there! The textures come off looking better in some of the 360 scenes though. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
On the news tonight, they had a short article about the PS3 in NZ, claiming 4 million dollars (NZ) worth of preorders are already placed.
I smell bullshit everywhere. No fucking way can a country of 4.5 million people preorder an estimated 3636 PS3's here. Unless sheep suddenly start buying consoles.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
The launch over here was also nothing short of a total train wreck.
How ya doing, buddy? All I'm saying is that if the laptops of the future are not in the
shape of chibi genie girls then I'm going to be sorely disappointed. |
The launch was not very well received here either. It seems the stores were struggling to sell them, I did see 1person enquire about them though, I think he might have actually bought one too.
It seems the guys down in London got the best deal. Link
