iTunes Crossfading problem

Hi there,

So I've been having a problem with my iTunes, v7.0.2.16 on Windows XP Professional; it plays normally except for when the crossfade function is turned on. If crossfade is on, every time it goes to a new song about three seconds in the song starts to get garbled, jumping back and forth with another random point in the song and where it's supposed to be. After about 15 seconds the song plays normally. I've tried changing the value of the crossfade time and the sound enhancer but the end result is the same every time.

Any suggestions? Please, no "iTunes sucks use ____" comments. Thanks in advance.
