Yeah, I had to abandon that and come back to it. I did the minibug (barheim passage) and Ithuno(Barheim Passage), Dustia(Esternsand) and then headed for Terror Tyrant(westernsand) and he was there YES. Finally.

Yagyu Darkblades takes a while. Try doing a chain of those bombs. It should eventually drop it.

Hey Soldier-----If you doing the hunts, before you go to the Crystal(In Giruvegan) to fight Omega, you might want to clear those Rare Monsters too that are somewhere in there. It would be a B**CH that you beaten Omega and left the Crystal to later find out that their are Rare Monsters up there too, to complete the Rare Hunt game.
lol! I just got it after 2 and something secs hours not chaining just walking around and getting the bomb to appear! :0)

I thouhgt it was gonna take m longer after reading some answers

im a happy biatch now lol now for danjuro and zodiac S.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

lol Saga....it took me 30 chains to finally get that dang sword. But for the "Danjuro" a rare monster in the Crystal(Giruvegan) drops the Danjuro. By the way, saga "NICE PIC"

here:
"[Rare] 342 Larva Eater (Gargoyle)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Where] The Great Crystal
[Spawn] Spawning this monster can be a test of you or your family's patience.
It spawns at many possible places: (1) Waystone VIII-IX, (2) Waystone
X, XII ~ XVI, and XX. The later spawn is a higher-level version of it,
but all other stats remain the same.

To spawn it you have to defeat more than 256 enemies in the Great
Crystal. Following the first spawn, you need to defeat 30-255 enemies
for each subsequent spawn.

[Drops] Low (3/6/8/12%): Danjuro

Note: This is the only way to get the best dagger, Danjuro. However, it is a
very weak weapon by then, and you will probably never use it.
"

Well.....Now I just defeated Zombie Lord and got my trophy.....Yipi Skippy .....that makes 28 trophys for me with 9 more hunts to go. When i get to the crystal that is where Omega, Ultima and the Rare Monster will get hammered. I am pretty much ready for that place.

Hey Metal Sphere----why you change your Avatar?? I thought the other one was tight.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Simo where are you?
Busy unfortunately and alas I haven't touched FFXII since last November....

What happened is that my work hours bumped up to 48-53 hours a week leaving very little time for anything else and to top it off I had a 3 year overdue vacation back home to England to worry about for the holidays. Even now my work is still a little hectic even without as many hours a week so I've just got bring back the motivation the replay the game after such a long break.

Looks like Metal Sphere has been doing an excellent job with the thread though.

Does anyone actually use handbombs or measures? I've tried measures and I found them completely useless, i'm guessing handbombs will be just as pointless. I'm 100 hours into the game and just finished the Pharos (which took me soooo long to finish). Oh yeah, can you really get the zodiac spear from a treasure in the mines? I read about it somewhere but don't know if it's true.

Apparently, yes. There is a map over on the game's gamefaqs page which details the location of the treasure chest in question (as well as everything else available in the Henne Mines), as well as the requirements for it actually appearing in the chest (namely being equipped with a Diamond Armlet).

However, the rate of appearance for this chest is supposed to be very low - and the rate of it actually containing the spear even lower, so yeah.

Yes. Leave the ozmone plains and then enter. Likely 9/10 the weather will be sunny. However, unless I am mistaken, the weather doesn't change from sunny to cloudy unless you leave the area entirely and pretty much requires the luck of the draw. Continue entering/leaving the Ozmone territory until the Ozmone plain has a cloudy sky.
Humm, I did back and fro between Ozmone and Giza plain for 3 hours now and still I haven't encounter this cloudy weather.... is this cloudy weather just means LOTS of cloud with the sun and the blue sky, cause that all I get in 3 hours.... OR

can I actually encounter this weather the 1st time I arrive Ozmone or I have to come back later in the game?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

After beating the game, I really have no motivation to go see this Yiazmat dood nor the Zordiak.
Do it for Montblanc, it killed his dear Master and left him and his brethren (The Moogling moogles at the gates in Rabanastre, Nono and Gurdy) homeless.

Quote:
Things I didn't like at all in FFXII:

1) Espers are a total waste in this game. They're fun to fight, but hell to actually use well. And the out come isn't worth it. [b]In the time where you spend to actually summon the bloody thing, you could have finished off the baddie with your regular attacks.[b]
Yup, they were essentially nice challenge battles but totally worthless otherwise. That last line sums up offensive technique that's not melee in this game.

Quote:
2) Strahl, what the fuck. I've lived with the fact that on PS2 FFs, you can't pilot the ship around, but FFX does it right. You can go anywhere you damn well please, even the most obscure places, with the Continental Circus -as well as get into the ship . With the Strahl, you're pretty much stuck to most aerodomes or some outdoor areas. Whatever, thank god for teleport stones, no seriously. Even the regular airliners you take from city to city are more acceptable.
Yeah, the Strahl was fucking ridiculous. I mean, this game was arguably less linear than FFX, the areas were much larger and the ship covers about 35-40% of the world? For example, anything South of Jahra/Eruyt you have to teleport or walk to. Salika, and the 2 Ns are off limits too. It's like they threw the Strahl in only as a means to get up to the final dungeon.

Quote:
It not like I'm a poor bastard to go buy teleport stones from Dyne at 100 gil a piece. All I can say is Balthier got ripped off, paying probably a damn shit load of gil to get the Strahl where it costs porbably close to 500,000 for that ship, where as I could get 99 teleport stones for a fraction of that cost, which would last much of my life as a resident of um, Rabanastre or Archades I suppose.
Remember, crystals only warp you to those you've touched before. Having a ship and using teleport crystals would work well, as you'd be able to expand your "crystal network" rather quickly. Otherwise they'd be worthless except for any place that you go to often.

Quote:
3) Only one dungeon that features you heavily fighting on a ship. The Leviathan is probably my most favorite dungeon in the whole game. I LOVE the smooth and sexy features of the interior of the ship, it's not gaudy, but very nice and futuristic.

4) Most of the other dungeons are rather forgettable. Raithwall was somewhat interesting with the massive interior as you go down the steps, as is the lighthouse of Pharos (which some of the interior was nice but much of it bland and forgettable). I really liked the entrance to the Stillshrine of Miriam, but inside was rather bleh.
I didn't have much of a problem with the Leviathan since that's kind of what I imagined the inside of a military ship would look like, and it matched what the exterior of the ship looked like too.

Quote:
4) Quickenings and special attacks. These "LIMIT BREAKS" or what have you are too risky to use, and most of the time basically act as a penelization on your MP, which sometimes is more vital than your HP. However, most boss battles don't even require this.
Don't use Quickenings. They're worthless, and are little more than a liability if you do. You're essentially resting the fate of the battle on your luck with the shuffle. Often times, this isn't enough to finish a boss.

Quote:
OFFTOPIC TO METAL SPHERE: The 4096D can only be bought in the Canadian Futureshops (basically Best Buy) but is an exclusive item. Most of the TVs now are sold out in my city and only a select stores have them. I don't have the money right now to get it, and my mom isn't willing to pitch in to get the TV, I can understand. I might have to fall back onto the 4095D, and miss out on the super sexy glass bezel. God I cum over that thing, and it's really the only reason I secretly choose the 96 over the 95. How is the Sharp Aquos TVs - I checked them up and they seem to be lacking heavily in the contrast ratio department?
If the only difference between the Futureshop exclusive and the 4095D is an aesthetic one, just go for the latter option. You're still getting the same technical performance, just without a bezel that's susceptible to glare.

Quote:
Still at any rate, this is the first Final Fantasy game that I can proudly boast that I've never seen the GAME OVER screen. Not even once (which I don't think I could have kept intact should I have faced off Zordiak or Yiazmat). After you level up like crazy in the Stillshrine with the Negalmuur up to about level 85, and get your party using "Save the Queen" swords, you're pretty much set for a total cake walk the rest of the game. The only boss that took me over 60 seconds to beat was the final final final boss. That took me about 240 seconds.
Yeah, with a half-decent Gambit setup you won't have to worry about dying, money stops being an issue fairly soon and the more you fight the more points you have for Augments. Heh, that Save the Queen comment was a riot. Try Tournesol, Whale Whisker and Masamune. The only reason it took more than 30 seconds at my level was because of the paling + cinematics.

You know... I wish there was a beastiary entry for "Occuria". That would be so damn awesome.
Holy crap, stop putting stuff into my mind, heathen beast! Imagine another optional dungeon Throne of the Gods, where you could get some uber-good weapons/armor for each type. On top of that, you could fight each of the Occuria and gain different entries for them. Imagine you fight them and during said fight they summon the scions of light. Of course, all this would be wrapped up in a beautiful but labyrinthine dungeon with level 89-95 monsters.

I had the FFXII avatar/sig for a good bit. I have to show props to another game that I had a fantastic time with. After this will probably be Rogue Galaxy though.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I just had a ball with twelve, and since there's an ungodly amount of things to do and keep track of, I decided to find out as much as I could. As for Ozmone Plain, try zoning from a completely different area. Are you trying to get Sylphi Entite to appear? IIRC, it only appears when the sky is completely cloudy and there's actual rain coming down. That way you can see its element in action (Wind).

Actually to be more accurate, I don't think I ever got a game over screen in FFIX either. All the others I have so far, at least once.

What is this Occuria? Marquis Ondore kept droning about it while I was sleeping. Does this have anything to do with Venat :3. As you can see, it's quite a surprise of how long I managed to stick with this game without even paying attention to the most basic of details. I'm just not the inquisitive type.

I have a feeling if you tried to fight them you'd get your ass handed to you royally. Remember how Venat manhandled Gabranth? And he didnt' even have to manifest. How could you even attack something you couldn't see, hear, or touch?

Occuria = Amaterasu, Yomigami, Nuregami, Bakugami, Kabegami, etc...

Spoiler:
The Occuria are the Gods spoken of in bestiary entries. They're the ones that gave Raithwall the sword to cut deifacted nethicite from the sun-cryst. Same thing they did with Ashe in FFXII.

Trick or force them into taking a physical form, much like Venat does. Any power they might use could be absorbed by deifacted Nethicite. Just saying, they're not nigh untouchable, there's a reason why they're cooped up all the way out there.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Well I am down to 4 hunts left . 3 is in the Great Crystal(Giruvegen) and 1 is in th Pharos (Luxillod). Next up Luxillod, then Great Crystal(Man I hate that place)

SCRATCH AND SNIFF -----I never had a game over either until I faced Zodiark. That was my first. But to me, to actually say you beat the game means you defeated every boss(Main story and Optional) including the hunts. Pretty much your whole Beastiary has to be complete.

But hey, if you don't feel like doing it....Great Job in beating the game.

I've had some time to resume playing and so I return to the thread! huzzah!

I think I'm going to ignore Zordiak. Ah hell with it, I'm just going to rush to the final bosses, I'm more than capable at level 85 now. At 170 hours plus, I'm starting to get um, bored of this. Time for Resident Evil 4!
Funny, and here I was thinking 90 hours in going to the Feywood (to find teh giruvegan) was too much, but I guess I'm on track then. Everyone is Lv.42-43, got most of the Grimores, and just got the -Ja spells... but still only two espers :\

In other words, a long ways to go for all the secrets.

I'm thinkin...Maybe I'll rush ahead to beat the game & see the ending and then go back to a save to get all the extra stuff.
Right now I'm trying to find this mark in the Cerobi Steppe, its a dragon or something that a Viera petitioned for, but I can't find it anywhere. What sub-area name should I look in? Nevermind, a FAQ at gamefaqs had the answer.

Oh not at all. I just got out of the Great Crystal and I'm 92 hours in. I'd like to say I've been trying to follow just the plot, but that would be lying so I'll say I've tried not to powerlevel for the heck of it. Though I do so yearn to fetch the Excalibur but I've no idea how or when I can open the Scorpio gate

There's quite a few things I'm not pleased about the guide book, and one of them is NOT HAVING MAPS WHERE THE GAME DOESN'T PROVIDE YOU WITH THEM - especially for the dungeons where navigation is of utmost importance - The Great Crystal. Instead they do point form instructions that tell you go up the left ramp to deactive the stone of prinny dood, go back down and touch way point MCXIXIXIXIXII and etc etc etc ad infinium. The point form instructions I don't mind, but for crying out loud does devouting a full page to at least a make shift map going to kill the book? This would have been quite helpful to even navigate up to Ultima/Omega etc...

Jam it back in, in the dark.

They probably meant the map at gamefaqs.com, not actually our FAQ section

YEEEEEEEEEEAH....well I am in the Great Crystal(Not using any help with this) and for some reason was so . Anyways I found my way out and now I just defeated Ultima. (My 13 ESPER is complete) . I had to use 3 Megaelixer for this b/c he used that magic thatr drains your MP.

I thought I was having a deja vu for a moment that magic similar to Zodiark but white. I also used 3 Mist on him and took him down.

If anybody can clear this up, why was it everytime I would hit him, his power would go down then back up? He didn't have reverse on me until his power was very low.

So far Ultima (Gone), Chrystal Night (Gone), and Evil Spirit (Gone). 2 Left: Omega and Larva Eater.

Ohh I managed to get the Excalibur and Stoneblade but not the Zodiark Eschelion. Anybody know where that shield is? Right Now I am at the Save Crystal (Thank You Lord) before Ultima. There is 3 path: Middle, left and right. Ultima was in the middle, if you take the right path, their is a waystone. Do not know whats on the left path though.

Thanks Metal Sphere for your response : ) Yes, I am trying to get Sylphi Entite to appear.

Well, I did go all the way to Giza and come back. I also tried walked between Gimore jungle and Ozmone Plain and neither of these works. Well, I have to say this is my 1st time visiting Gimore jungle but it seems everyone have seen that cloudy weather at least once on their 1st arrival. And I NEVER manage to see it. It has ALWAYS been blue sky, with a sun, and a little bit of cloud.

I also tried to visit Ozmome when Giza is dry and when it is wet. Still nothing happend... Is the weather change based on a %, or is it base on some other formula like [no. of steps you taken - a secret number]?

Well, any advice would be MUCH MUCH appericated. I have spent at least 10 hours to get that cloudy weather appear >_<

There is 3 path: Middle, left and right. Ultima was in the middle, if you take the right path, their is a waystone. Do not know whats on the left path though.
The Left path goes to a gate switch. I think it's Aquarius, which you use and then run all the way back to Aquarius 1 and access the Taurus gate switch. The Zodiac Escutcheon/Brave Suit chest is behind Taurus II.

No problem. I'd say just keep trying, maybe try from the Zertinan Caverns? I've found that entering Ozmone from there would net me the windy/rainy weather.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even.
