LOL Christian opening a door right into Hurricane's head.

"STAND BACK, THERE'S A NEW HARDCORE CHAMPION COMING THROUGH!"

and immediately pins him and wins the title.

Undoubtedly one of the most brilliant pieces of work they put together. Shame they don't bring the title back and do it again with the mid-card that doesn't have shit to do half the time.

Both of us using our defining avatars is like a blast from the past lol.
Raven has had the title 27 times
I don't recal Raven ever being in the WWE, just that Saturn was(miss that guy). But it just goes to show you the hardcore title and the 24/7 rule was an ingenius idea.

Quote:
The Tatanka of now? Either a jobber or a squasher of jobbers. The Tatanka of the past? He was undefeated for more than a year.
Yes the Tatanka of now. When he came back, all he did was job><. Every match, every. He even jobbed to that announcer-turned lame wrestler Miz <-that there infuriated me. Does Vince just do this to his wrestlers to spite them in some way?

Quote:
The Big Bossman passed away in 2004, a year after Curt Hennig's death.
Wow. . .

I'm going to put the blame on these passings on prolonged head trauma during thier years in wrestling. No wonder why Vince banned a lot of high flying moves(it's a start, and knowing him it COULD be a cover up that he doesn't want to admit, that US health care is eating him alive). Owen's death and Rick Rudes, got to me the most.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

He had one helluva match against Rhyno at Backlash 2001. The reason why a lot of people don't recall Raven ever being in the WWE is because the latter part of his career was spent on Sunday Night Heat where he took advantage of his genius promos (which sadly went nowhere). The last major feud Raven had was against Saturn, ironically. Both were released under humiliating gimmicks.

The old Tatanka's back or is there a new one? Yeah, I remember his undefeated streak. It was the first time I had seen something like that before Goldberg... Unless King Kong Bundy had something like it before Hogan "beat" him.

Haha, I just got a memory of Raven training the Sandman to be hardcore agian by stalking him at his home by the pool and so many other ridiculous things. Not sure if that's a WWE or WCW memory.

Owen's death fucked me up most. I remember it was Oct. 5, 2007 and I was at the Rio casino at Vegas when I heard about it. Fucking horrible. First time a wrestling death had hit me. I think if Bret Hart were to die one of these days I'd give up wrestling altogether. Growing up who were the big heros of oyu guys?

Yeah, it's the original Tatanka. His undefeated streak was one of the best of the 90s, because he was actually defeating guys like Shawn Michaels.

Raven training Sandman probably happened in WCW when Sandman was known as Hardcore Hak. I can't recall Raven training Sandman in ECW, because they had a feud. In WWE, Raven arrived and departed before Sandman arrived for the new ECW.

Owen dying was messed up. It was one of the most shocking deaths, because he was at the top of his career. It's crazy how both British Bulldog and Brian Pillman are gone too. The Hart Foundation only has Jim Neidhart and Bret Hart left. Bret dying would suck too. Both of those guys were great wrestlers. Being Canadian myself, Bret Hart winning the WWF Championship means a lot. When I was growing up, all my heroes in wrestling were the big names such as Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, Sgt. Slaughter, Ted Dibiase, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Bret "The Hitman" Hart, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Junkyard Dog, The Undertaker, British Bulldog, King Kong Bundy, Jimmy Snuka, Big John Studd, George "The Animal" Steele, Ricky Steamboat, etc. There are so many that were my heroes.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Bret hart is on the top of my list of heros as I was growing up. I memorized his theme song(even the remixes) and would hum it to myself before I went to sleep. One thing WWE Raw vs. Smackdown granted me that the other wrestling games(except for Wrestle Mania and Royal Rumble for the SNES) didn't was being able to unlock not only him, but his intro music along with him. And I used that for my made character, blasting the volume .

Million dollar man, hope he lives a long time. He had that sinister/cocky laugh that just won you over every time. I enjoyed a good bit of Paul Orndorfs(Mr.Wonderful) matchs. I didn't care much for Sting until the last few months of his career when he turned into his own version of The Crow. Razor Ramon(Scott Hall) and Shawn Michaels, that MADE the Ladder Match and Wrestle Mania X is still my favorite cause of that match. I'm a fan of Michaels forever, but his age has taken away his charisma.

Of all the old school wrestlers I enjoyed watching, I'd pay 1000000000 dollars to see Randy Savage wrestle again.

Bret dying would have a huge saddening impact on the industry. And, you know Goldberg almost made that a reality.

How ya doing, buddy?

Spoiler:

Okay...so all the title belt matches at the RR were Face wins

But what's up with taker winning the rumble...
To me, that doesn't make any sense unless at No mercy Kennedy gets the belt due to interference from MVP and then at WM23 its Kennedy against Taker or something, unless the rumors are true and this is going to be takers last hurrah.

But it would have made more sense for Michaels to win it, then have Cena drop the strap to either Edge or Orton then it continues the DX fued between DX and Rated - RKO

But Tatanka never actually fought Michaels during that streak... Did he?

Does the Undertaker still have that undefeated at Wrestlemania shit going for him? If so, maybe this is it. How good is he nowadays? Fucking guy has to be the senior as far as wrestling for the WWE nonstop goes. That not counting, Michaels is ancient. Who are the current champions, and which will Undertaker face? An Undertaker vs. Kennedy match (though his promos are funny) match sounds ridiculous to me.

My favorite wrestler has to be in generations. My first was Macho Man. I cried from the fury seeing Hogan beating him EVERY MOTHERFUCKING TIME. Big Elbow. Hogan kicks out. Hogan starts getting stupid (going wild, and at this point little OO is screaming at Savage to stop trying to hit him and just get the fuck out of the ring until Hogan settles down) punches, big kick, leg drop and pin. Hogan wins. FUCK THAT SHIT. You guys realize Macho Man has never defeated Hogan in his life? Kinda like Hogan had never beaten the Warrior until that gay WCW shit. I loved Macho Man man, which started for me when he was the Macho King beating down on Dusty Rhodes. When he came back with that new look after being reinstated (REINSTATE!) by Jack Tunney and eventually beat Flair for the title... Those were good times.

After Macho Man it was Bret Hart. Watching his great feuds with the Bulldog and his brother, going apeshit when he beat Mr. Perfect for the IC strap with that awesome modified sharpshooter at (I think) some Summerslam. Or winning the same belt from Piper. The Yokozuka scandal. Faggot Hogan once again coming along to steal a hero of mine spotlight. The Jerry Lawler feud, that prick Michaels winning the Iron Man match... Damn it Hart. The Montreal Screwjob.

After the screwjob in 1998 (or was it 1997?) I had no favorite really. Until HHH started his new angle in 1999 and especially the peak at the Stephanie-McMahon era. His return in early 2002 and my personal favorite time when he betrayed Austin as the dude that hit him with his car. AUSTIN, IT WAS ME. IT WAS ME. I'd love to be able to betray someone that way. I'm still a fan of his, but its just not the same anymore. Macho Man always keeps in great shape, why wont he come back?

Ah, so much to say. Better just shut my trap now.

Actually...Cena's lost the title twice, once to edge and once to RVD.

RVD probably would still have the championship if he didn't get busted for pot and suspended for 30 days, due to that incident, the title was dropped to edge and then back to Cena.

Right now...there really isn't anyone for Cena to feud with.

Nitro is feuding with Jeff Hardy and MNM is feuding with the Hardy's
Carlito is feuding with McMahon (which is kinda funny)
Masters if feuding with Super Crazy
Rated-RKO (edge and Orton) are feuding with DX (Michaels and HHH(before the quad tear)
Kenny is feuding with Dykstra
And Khali is about as easy to understand and Eugene so theres no way they're going to give him the belt.

So there isn't really alot they can do about the WWE title. For some retarded reason they decided to take Kane off of RAW, although its understandable cause they had to end the Kane-Umaga angle some how, but it doesn't give Cena anyone to really face. Although it would be kind of cool if they did give Khali the belt and then revive the Taker-Khali angle one more time but ~shrugs~

Cena will keep the WWE gold until the Iraq war is over. Because you know, a soldier always keeps fighting until the battle ends. This is the only reason he still has the belt, to appeal to all the "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" people out there.

Cena and Orton needs to start up, and Orton needs to take the belt. Then of course, Edge gets pissy when Orton has the gold, leading to the eventual breakup of Rated RKO. Since Michaels is pissed off with all of them anyway, this would give us a Fatal Four Way at Wrestlemania for the title.

Least that would be somewhat entertaining.

But Tatanka never actually fought Michaels during that streak... Did he?
Yes he did. He beat both Rick Martel and Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 8 and 9 during his undefeated streak. After leaving the WWF and returning, he hasn't been able to gain much success.

Yep. The Undertaker still has his undefeated Wrestlemania streak. I haven't been watching the WWE as of late. I just can't really get into the new product. Last time I did see the Undertaker wrestle, he was still pretty good minus the suicide dive he used to do over the ropes.

Yep. I remember all of that. Macho Man was awesome and his flying elbow drop was done in such a stylish way that it didn't seem like just another elbow drop. Back when I was a kid, Hogan was one of my favourites so I didn't really care what was going on as long as he won or something. Nowadays when I look back and see all the greats that were buried under Hogan, I cringe. Big John Studd could've won the WWF title, Mr. Wonderful could've won the WWF title, Mr. Perfect could've won the WWF title, Ted Dibiase could've won the WWF title. Geez. I'm glad Macho was able to win both the WWF and WCW titles though.

After the screwjob in 1998 (or was it 1997?) I had no favorite really. Until HHH started his new angle in 1999 and especially the peak at the Stephanie-McMahon era. You serious? That's news to me. I can't remember HHH betraying Austin. I do remember that Rikishi hit Austin with a car back in 2000 or something. I remember HHH and Austin teaming up against The Rock and I remember HHH betraying Shawn Michaels. I never really liked HHH.

Kenny Dykstra is feuding with himself? LOL. Nah, I know you meant Ric Flair.

Royal Rumble last night...did anyone else feel that the ECW guys were out of place there? It just didn't seem right for them to be there. One of two things needs to happen...either ECW needs to die or they need to become a separate brand. Since neither is gonna happen, the ECW originals need to get their asses out of there and save themselves.

Out of the feuds that Slash gave, I think the Rated-RKO vs. DX one needs to end with Randy Orton and Edge eventually feuding against each other. That would leave Michaels to go after the title against Cena, because let's face it (and you won't enough of this from me) Shawn is long overdue for another title shot/reign. Where does that leave Umaga? Personally, I'd like to see him feud with the Great Khali. The only thing I could see wrong with that is it could end up in a manager switch. :P

Now my heroes growing up? Back in the late 80s when I was born there were three. Macho Man Randy Savage, the Ultimate Warrior, and my favorite back in the Federation era...Hulk Hogan. That so-called "shit" that he did against Savage was him Hulking up. Hogan for the win.

Btw, I'm watching Raw now and seeing Val Venis jobbing. Man, and he was the IC champion at one point.

After those guys left, I think I liked Bret Hart and Luger. Then HBK when he went face and won the title at Wrestlemania. However, then there was someone who was as big of a hero to me as Hulk Hogan was and that was Stone Cold Steve Austin. The man was hilarious, he basically didn't give a damn. The Rock was alright for a little while.

Now...I've gone back to HBK and HHH (before injury). Ugh...Cena in a Subway commercial. I still have a little respect for Cena, but that's gonna dwindle until he loses the title...but not to Edge. For the love of God, Edge doesn't need the damn title again.

Val Venis still jobs? That sucks. Last time I watched Val Venis, he was on Sunday Night Heat. I think he won a couple of matches against CM Punk, back when Punk was still in development or at least trying out for WWE. Venis was IC Champion about six years ago.

As for Edge being the WWE Champ -- I don't understand why they give him the title in the first place. The guy lost the title both times to Cena and has never had any successful title defenses as WWE Champion. It just makes him look ridiculous. He's somewhat of a good heel though.

Wonder where Michaels fits into all of this...With HHH out, there is going to be a massive scramble to reshuffle, which is probably why Undertaker is getting the sudden push.

The last major feud Raven had was against Saturn, ironically. Both were released under humiliating gimmicks. "

Actually, Raven was starting up some sort of gimmick after having his hair cut and wearing a dress. INterestingly enough, he continued to wear the dress/kilt in NWA. His potential sure wasn't used though.

"Owen's death fucked me up most. I remember it was Oct. 5, 2007 and I was at the Rio casino at Vegas when I heard about it. Fucking horrible. First time a wrestling death had hit me. I think if Bret Hart were to die one of these days I'd give up wrestling altogether. Growing up who were the big heros of oyu guys?"

Slightly confused about the date. Oct 5th 1997 was Pillman's death, (I think). It was a sad day...both of them. Iremember natively looking at my 'rents and saying something like it was an angle...when my parents corrected me and said it wasn't pretend. Owen's death was horrible, and given how much I looked up to Bret (and good to see other fans of him too!) and 'disliked' Owen (in the way that a healthy kid would get behind his fave wrestler against another) it brought up so many memories. My biggest is being sick with a horrible flu on Christmas, not even wanting to open presents, but wanting to listen to Bret cut a promo for his match with Diesel at the 1995 RR.

While I only saw him in the tail end of his career (beating Austin for the US title), I liked Steamboat for his honorable methods. Sting was awesome too, as was Diesel, Michaels, and Taker. I still remember in 8th grade listening to my teacher, but more thinking about the big matches coming on that Monday evening. Gosh, and I remember having a routine too...up by 9 to watch Saturday Morning wrestling on WCW, then in the evening for the Main event, followed either by WCW or WWF depending which was on Sunday. Next was Monday with Raw (until Nitro showed up). Good memories..

I agree with Storm. Almost. I forsee it being Trips getting SUperkicked by Michaels at the ten year 'We miss you Bret! Ha ha.' reunion of the infamous Montreal incident. Why Michaels? Cuz everyone knows Trips would turn heel so why not do something like Sting~Hogan (everything thought Hogan would turn heel when it was Sting).

Spoiler:

Everyone is immediately saying Taker Vs Cena. Hold for a second. Remember Batista two years ago? He was going on Smackdown! beating down JBL, giving the impression he'd go to Smackdown! for his main event. IN the end, he stayed on Raw to face Trips and win the strap. Same deal here I am betting...

Yeah, I know. He arrived in the WWE as his old school version and then about a month in, he started to dye his hair with red streaks. That lasted for about a year (2001) and then in 2002, he dyed his hair blonde, braided it and started wearing the black kilt. However, that wasn't the way he went out. One of his last matches was against Jeff Hardy on RAW where Raven came out to only his coat and that was it. The rest of his attire was traditional black trunks with black boots and he looked nothing like the Raven that we all knew. This was Raven trying to get over with the company by trying something new, seeing how he was being buried as his original. It didn't work, sadly.

I still hate the WWE for labelling him as just hardcore and not suitable for other divisions. Even WCW used Raven quite a bit. He won the U.S Heavyweight Championship and Tag Team Championship there for crying out loud.

Never watched NWA, but Raven made his mark in WCW hands down. If there was a '50 greatest WCW wrestlers of all time' I'd vote for him.

Yes he did. He beat both Rick Martel and Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 8 and 9 during his undefeated streak.
How could I forget one of the better intercontinental(spelling -.-) champions in it's histosy. Rick Martel was a very entertaining heel.

Mortis - I had thought about saying that instead and it actually seems a lot more likely to happen.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Rick Martel wasn't Intercontinental Champion (unless you were talking about Shawn Michaels), his Strike Force partner Tito Santana was. Rick Martel was a former WWF Tag Team Champion. And yeah, he was indeed a great heel. There have been a couple of imitators of the "model" gimmick, but all haven't been able to reach the level of Rick.

Oh yeah, another great heel was Greg "The Hammer" Valentine.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Good God I can't believe HHH has had the same injury again. Judging by his physique he doesn't even seem to be hitting the juice as hard, if at all, this time around so it's hard to understand why. Anyhow, HHH isn't always heel after coming back from an injury, he wasn't in 2002.

I can't believe Tatanka beat Shawn Michaels. How long was this streak for... Sounds like at least a year before he lost in the cheesiest way to that cheesy fucking German Ludvig Vorga or however you spell his last name. Just so Lex faggot Luger could later be America's heroic savior. But I keep forgetting that around the time that he beat Michaels HBK was still just a midcarder at best. Great heel though.

You serious? That's news to me. I can't remember HHH betraying Austin. I do remember that Rikishi hit Austin with a car back in 2000 or something. I remember HHH and Austin teaming up against The Rock and I remember HHH betraying Shawn Michaels. I never really liked HHH.
Yeah, it happened. Not sure on dates here but at some point Austin was hit by a car in a parking garage. All anyone knew was that the driver was blond. Months later Austin comes back and immediately starts investigating who hit him, fucking with every blond wrestler he can find. I remember the date here was Nov. 6th 2000 because it was my friend's wedding and I had taped it.

Eventually, at the end of the show, Austin corners Rikishi and for reasons I forget assumes he did it. Then HHH runs out with his sledge hammer and beats the fuck out of him. Eventually he just gets in his face with a mic while Austin's laid out and starts screaming IT WAS ME AUSTIN. IT WAS MEEEEEEEEEEEE.

HHH's confession aside, I can't remember if HHH actually drove the car or paid Rikishi to do it. Some time later, after feuding, they became a great heel tag team before HHH hurt his quad... The first time anyway.
Shawn is long overdue for another title shot/reign.
I'd love to see that.

You were just another brainwashed child, not realizing the abuse that was going on with that yellow bastard. (In Spanish that's what I'd call Hogan when complaining about him to my mom).

However, then there was someone who was as big of a hero to me as Hulk Hogan was and that was Stone Cold Steve Austin. The man was hilarious, he basically didn't give a damn. The Rock was alright for a little while.
My favorite scene including these two was an in ring microphone work between the two. Austin was hitting the Rock with his "what" shit and the Rock was rebuking with whatever his current gimmick was. It ended up, to me, a stalemate but it was great.

For the love of God, Edge doesn't need the damn title again.
Better than Cene no? I think heels like Edge are refreshing. I like Lita too. =O
I wonder when we're getting the 20 DVD Royal Rumble boxset...I will be ordering that when and if it comes about.
Man, when I was little I used to love the artwork on the tapes. A ton of wrestlers COMING AT YOU TO RUMBLE. Are the current Rumbles still drawn this way?
Slightly confused about the date. Oct 5th 1997 was Pillman's death, (I think). It was a sad day...both of them.
Shit, you're right. THAT was the first death that fucked me up. Owen died at some point in mid 1999 I think. BTW, you Mortis of old or the new one?

Rick Martel and his Boston Crab. What a fag. But I do vaguely remember him being an IC champ... You sure he wasn't Erisu?

These talks of Raven are interesting. The thing that always baffled and amused me about Raven when I heard about his persona in ECW, when ECW was still underground, was that he was that faggot manager Johnnie Polo or however that went. Fucker beefed up and turned out to be a great wrestler. Shame what happened.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
