Ahh, how to get rid of this virus/spyware?
I downloaded a game from this Chinese site; I scanned for viruses and everything (all the directories, files, etc.) seemed ok, but when clicked Setup...
- My Anti-Virus (AVG Free) found some viruses - My IE had these weird Chinese toolbars - My IE homepage was changed to http://www.kzdh.com - My computer was noticeably slower I uninstalled the things it added through Control Panel Add/Remove Programs, but one still remains (I disabled it) and I don't know how to remove it. Even when I reset my homepage, it keeps reverting back to kzdh.com. Scanning with Spybot and AVG again picks up nothing anymore. What should I do? >_< Thanks for any help. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Since it looks like you just have some spyware issues, running AVG isn't going to help matters. The best thing to do is use some other anti-spyware programs, like Spyware Doctor or Ewido or Trend-Micro Anti-Spyware or Ad-aware. Victory by volume is the simplest route for stubborn malware.
There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
I also recommend Ad-aware, it has served me well in the past. I also recommend changing your browser to Firefox. I did this a while back, and haven't had half the trouble that I used to with Explorer, but I did also ditch Norton around the same time, so this may have been a factor too.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
