Ripping audio from youtube?
Is it possible? What I'm after is the audio from this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4gs4rSL5Os Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() John Mayer just asked me, personally, through an assistant, to sing backup on his new CD. |
As far as I know you have to first download the .flv from youtube -> convert it to .avi -> rip the audio.
I can do this for you, as well as write up a more extensive how-to if you want. edit: it might not be necessary now, but here's my rip: http://www.sendspace.com/file/08pm34 There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I very quickly recorded this with audacity, so I can't guarantee that it sounds quite right. (I can't tell myself; the headache I have is preventing me from thinking too clearly.)
In any case, here it is. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Seanne and Snow, I really appreciate this. Great live track I've been trying to get for a while.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() John Mayer just asked me, personally, through an assistant, to sing backup on his new CD. |
You don't need the transcoding step from FLV to AVI, you can use mplayer to extract the audio stream (which is MP3 most of the time) from the flash video file.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
