And what about heavy body, and mystic hat?
Should i use this combination just for the one who'll use the masamune in the endgame?

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

SO where can I get the other extremely powerful weapons? Also where can I get the magicks Scathe, Renew?

Um. What.

Yo Spatual, whats your problem :| I dont find that funny :| I was only askin for advice, thats what this forums for! Set your self up. Just cos im from Britain dont meaaaan i dont know how 2 play a game :| OK. I dont comment on whatever questions you may have to ask becayse i respect the fact that this is a forum yeah not some playground. SO groooooooooow up
Which you still did not answer my question, but forget it. And where did I state that you didn't know how to play FFXII. Stop putting words in my mouth. Thanks.

Moving along, I'm going to need to start saving some major gil, however, at the same time I'm afraid of selling off certain "precious" loot which may be required for the ultimate weapons. I'm sure I can find these required items in the guidebook (or even in the game itself for that matter), so I'll have to sit down and research it up a bit before cashing in. I'll continue my venture into the Necrohol of Nabudis tonight, and with the absence of any save points, vigilance will be my friend (almost as if the Roblon hunt, where, due to my chronic saving tendencies, somewhat freaked out as I almost forgot to get the Medallion from the rodent guy - forcing me to back track from the base of the hidden mountain up to the top. Man did I run like hell from the bones - they aren't hard, but I had a considerable accomplishment - that is beating Roblon - on the line.)

Zodiark:

- Equip Black Masks (Absorb Darkja, heals you), get them in Balfonheim
- Equip White Masks (Absorb Shining Ray or whatever it's called, heals you), get them in Balfonheim. Just switch out to the appropriate mask (mainly Black), keep the defensive suite up constantly, keep an eye on his palings to figure out what he's vulnerable to, and don't hit him with elemental attacks.

Scathe - Necrohol
Ardor - IIRC, Burrough in the Barheim Passage
Flare, Renew, Hastega, etc.. - Make sure to check the shop keepers in the Dalmasca Westersand/Estersand. They sell these after the Pharos.

Weapons:
- Tournesol (2H Sword) (Bazaar, there's guides on how to make it)
- Durandal (1H Sword) (ditto)
- Sagittarius (Bow) (ditto)
- Scorpion Tail (Hammer) (ditto)
- Golden Axe (Dalmasca Estersand/Westersand just before/after Pharos)
- Gastrophetes (Crossbow) (Steal from rare game Pallicant or hunt club reward)
- Danjuro (fucking dagger... oops. rare game Larvae Eater drops)
- Masamune (Katana) (Ancient Man of Mystery hunt reward or bazaar creation)
- Rod of Faith (Rod) (Hidden in the wyrm snout @ Bur-Omisace after completing the Behemoth King hunt)
- Staff of the Magi (Staff) (Steal from rare game Luxollid in Pharos Subterra B2F)
- Yagyu Darkblade (Ninja Sword) (dropped by rare game Bombshell)
- Volcano (best Handbomb, right?) (Handbomb) (Reward for Catoblepas hunt)
- Grand Mace (Mace) (Reward for Pylraster hunt)
- Whale Whisker (Pole) (make it in the bazaar)
- Fomalhaut (Gun) (chest found in the room where you fought the Antlion mark. UNEQUIP YOUR DIAMOND ARMLET, also found in the Henne Mines secret section)

Don't worry about throwing things away. The vast majority of items for weapons you create are only for said recipes and nothing else, meaning you'd only be accumulating loot in the bazaar for the creation of said weapon. If you need money bad, just check everything in except for whatever items you want to make ASAP.

How can i get the sagittarius? And what about the masamune? I red it was among the 3 best weapons with genji gloves. So, is it outclassed by those 3 weapons you use?

3 Beastlord Horns - Steal 1 from the mark Catoblepas, steal 1 from the optional boss Humbaba Mistant (clown) and steal 1 from the Pharos guardian, Fenrir. Or, steal/poach from Humbabs in the Mosphoran Highwaste.

3 Sagittarius Gems - You see that Deadlands leveling technique? You can use that to make the Foobars that spawn in The Fog Mutters and the entrance to said map from the Slumbermead (as well as the one in front of that chest), respawn. Steal Sagittarius Gems from them with the cuffs equipped.

3 Moon Rings - Ash Wyrms in the Great Crystal drop these. Don't try it with the one in the Highwaste, as it's like the Adamantitan in Barheim, its level is too low to drop it with any frequency.

I use the weapons I use because of the areas I go to, that's all. I just don't like the way the Masamune is used by most of the characters (and the most popular choice is...Ashe, the one who looks the worst with it outside of Penelo). There's no point in having a high combo weapon when you've got:

- Damn Tournesol one-hitting things
- OHKO arrows
- Reflect-trick

That's why Vaan's main weapon is the Excalibur, and not the Whisker.

How ya doing, buddy?

I sell them in bunches, just to be safe, but the items required for most of these weapons are only used for these weapons, and nothing else. It remembers the amounts you put in, and once you hit the required number of this and that, the item will be made.

Sephiroth's Upper Crystal map

Man WTF - if you guys take a look at the Upper Crystal map I just posted, there's 2 tresure chests just below where it says "Map 2".

I was expecting to get the Excalibur from one of those chests. But even with Diamond Armlet equipped, I got friggin gil out of them! 2500 gil from one, and another 2800 gil from the other.

WTF is this shit? Can't the game even tell that I have 500,000 gil in my damn huge-ass pocket as it is? Such bullshit.... I bet there's gil waiting in the other treasures as well... LAME AS FUCK

One more goddamn Corpse Fly and I'll get the Whale whisker. 2 more Soul Powders and I got the Tournesol - oh wait! I need to go deep into the Henne Mines to try getting it? Wow WTF, the Abysteels will rape my ass before I make it halfway in....

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Just keep zoning and trying again. I know it took some people a few hours to get it, I happened to get it on my second try. So just keep at it for a bit and it will eventually pop up.

Well I have found it is a lot easier trying to get the Aquarius Gems in the Fewood. Still only have 2 of them but I didn't get one of them in Giruvegan so I guess I'll keep trying in the Fewood till the other two come around.

Ya, here's an instance for me: To make a Soul Powder:
High Arcana x1
Soul Powder x1
Wargod's Band x2

I obtained a Soul Powder after beating Ixtab (rank II) in a hunt a long while earlier in the game (given as a reward). I sold the Soul Powder cause I wanted the gil for upgraded weapons coming out in the market.

Later game, I sold only the 1 High Arcana and the 2 Wargod's Bands, and Wallaaa! "New bazaar market item available"

Sure enough, the Empyreal Soul was there for purchase. Most rare loot in this game is only used distinctively for one Bazaar goody. So yeah, I'm supporting MS's quote above ^^.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Yea I have found that since I don't need to sell things for gil anymore ( I have something like 1.2 Mill) that I will wait until I have everything in my inventory just to play it safe. I know that the game records what you sell for items and then creates them accordingly, but I guess that's just my cautious side. Maybe a little OCD but hey, whatever so long as I have the good weapons I'll keep doing that.

Edit: Well I finally got the Wahle Whisker, What stat causes for the greates combo levels? Is it speed? I have Vann, Balthier and Basch in my main party and have deicded to give it to Balthier. Atleast for now.

The Excalibur chest is the 2nd from the right on map two. On the approach you'll pass a map with a sole Shadonir, another platform, and then the map with the chest (over a trap) with one horse on the platform and two behind you.

Jeez. If you're complaining about getting hordes of gil, I wonder what your reaction would be if all you got was Knots of Rust, like I did (some gil, mostly knots)?

Corpse Flies are easy, Dragon Liches abound in the Subterra. It's not even remotely close to being a pain to collect. Aquarius Gems can be harvested not too far from where you get your Hell Gate's Flames.

Set your Gambits to heal at a higher percentage, cast things like Curaja on them or Sleepga. The problem is, if you're having this much trouble with Abysteels, you're not going to like the Hecteyes, or the Glaring Eye rare game that they sometimes leave behind. Heck, even the monster you're supposed to kill (Etems) to get the powder will probably toss you around a bit.

Go level a bit more, that often eases things up.

Cautious? Give yourself more credit than that! It's simply being safe rather than sorry, since you spent so much time getting these items, it'd be foolish to just up and toss them in without being sure.

Haha, yea I just know I would probably want to go ahead and jump off my roof (well not exactly but you get my point) if I did all of that rare-loot hunting and then found out I fucked it up somehow. Right before I sold my items for the Tournsol I went and saved it first just to be TRULY safe about it.

This may be related to my inclination to save after every little event or whatever, but I not only saved before I sold the loot, I saved after each step so if I messed up, I wouldn't have to go back to the beginning.

Edit: I just figured out a way to deal with the Wyrmhero Blade's atrocious speed: Berserk+Haste. I'm testing it out now, but instead of taking years to attack, now it's kind of like the speed between a gun and a spear. I don't think I can make it go any faster than this, plus the fucking noise is irritating (insert grating SNES noise).

Necrohol of Nabudis, what.

I'm starting to "like" this place now, meaning that I'm a bit more accustomed to it, but as a dungeon as a whole, I do prefer other dungeons as they don't seem so depressing ;__;. At any rate, I got the "Save The Queen" double handed sword and equipped it on Balthier. He looks super cool with it, and I love the sound it makes when I preps it for slicing action. DRAW STEEL BOYS. It does 100 damage, which is by far my best weapon I have so far.

I managed to take down the Fury and the Humbaba Mistant, the latter being extremely easy. Mistant thinks he's tough rough stuff, but really he's a wimp. I just casted dispel and sap on him, and with the newly acquired DH sword, easily dealt 2500-3000 damage per hit. He was down in probably not more than 6 minutes or so. 300,000 HP, what? The fury on the other hand I was somewhat worried about. It wasn't the chronic casting of berserk, but it was the casting of stop on my party, while I only had about 9 chronos tears in stock, and each time at least 1 or 2 of my party members would get affected by this. I was actually quite happy as it casted berserk on myself, as I got Fran to gambit FOE=Berserk --> Dispel, and each time it casted berserk, it basically stalled with the casting animation and got my guys to do a free 3 hit attack on it, since it basically just sits there for 2 to 3 seconds while drinking wine. LOL.

The only really enemy I hated was the Overlord, I think, which could sap your entire stock of MP from your bar. However, this doesn’t put me in as much of a dire position as I initially though. Just charge your guys up to about 60 to 70 MP, and that’s more than enough to survive the battle at hand. Select the party member with the lowest MP as the leader, as I find s/he will be attacked the most. As long as you have your MP augmentations from the license, you’ll be back up to half your MP bar in no time, everything from taking damage, dealing damage with MP, walking, and all that. I was amazed how quickly your MP can work for you if you actually USE it when it’s low.

Anyways, next up I feel like taking out the fatty esper in the waterways, as I hear that dudes easier than the Chaos guy.

The entire country (including the capital) of Nabradia got owned by the destruction caused by that first nethicite shard. Mist begets monsters, so you have lots of mist, lots of strong monsters (mainly based on those who died there). I love the music there, but it gets annoying when you have it screaming at you from 5 speakers. The Deadlands is creepier, though getting a Gravesoil Trophy from one of the rare game in there definitely bumped the Necrohol up a few notches.

Oh, and I hate the noise that 2H swords make when they're drawn. Sounds like Robocop hopped out of bed.

"Am I in the wrong game?"

Humbaba and Fury were remarkably easy. Just your basic defensive spells up, and just have at them. Of course, you need to be properly stocked, as Stop can be a bitch. Both of them went down within a minute or so of starting the fight (had to get the Beastlord horn).

Fearga? Some other monsters use that, like the Shadowseer for example. Thank God none of the truly irritating monsters use it, like Omega or Yiazmat. You'd be boned more than a streetwalker on friday night.

He is, just make sure you have Ribbons/Disable-immune accessories on. He can disable you, and since there's a fast-as-fuck HP drain on the field, this is not a good thing. I beat him before he could do his special (like Chaos does Aeroja) so I don't know what it inflicts. He summons Foobars too, Flan that are normally found in the Deadlands.

Just wail on him, keep an eye on your HP and heal any status effects and you should be gravy. Level?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

The Deadlands is creepier
Speaking of this, one of the most profound moments in the game for me was standing on the edge of the bridge remnant where the Nu Mou was. Standing there, looking out over the Deadlands, observing the waste, the seething Mist, the sun barely able to penetrate it even at higher altitudes, nothing more than an illuminated cloud at lower elevations, and listening to the mournful music playing in the background. "A Land of Memories" quickly became one of my favorite tracks.

Finishing the Bangaa beastiary entry really drove home the point.

How ya doing, buddy?

Amen.

I told you guys, if there's one bestiary entry you have to finish, it's that one. I was reading it and got pretty interested and the ending... damn. Needless to say, it was poignant how they did it. The destruction and how horrifying it must've been for those who didn't know their friends and family were gone, captured right there in that last page.

"Land of Memories" is particularly fitting, since Nabradia is little more than that even after just two years, it scarcely looks anything like the rest of the world (in fact, it resembles the Feywood/Giruvegan's exterior). The music is rather calm and lilting, and then it hits this eerie and jarring section that I always noticed.

What I remember rather clearly was when my sister noted that there little to no ruins in the Deadlands. Aside from the shrine, and the bridges, everything else seems to have been leveled (even the ground was distorted).

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?
