Unreal Tournament MODs

I recently got access to a special room in the my school. And it has quite a few computers which only certain students are allowed (Plus, I have the key to the room <3) So I have about 6 LAN computers with UT and WarCraft 3 and later, I'll install CS - basic stuff; sadly, that's the only thing that the computer can handle. But anyways, can anyone recommend Unreal Tournament mods? Or good programs for Admin on Lan servers?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I'll just copy and paste the segment from a FAQ I made on BeyondUnreal Forums:

Quote:
Most people will say that, for realism, Infiltration is the best mod in that category. Other realism mods include TacticalOps, and Strike Force.

For class-based gameplay (a lá Team Fortress for Half Life), Weapons Factory UT and UnrealFortress are the more popular ones.

If you're looking for various other types of gameplay, here's a list of some other popular mods.
(Note: none of those links are guaranteed to work.)

Wow, I haven't played UT2K4 in about a year. However I know that Red Orchestra is an immensily well-made WWII Mod, so you may want to start there.

Many unique and creative Maps are also to be had... at point I had a great collection of them, but that hasn't been in a while. Maybe one day I'll get back on my Balamb Garden Level.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

If you're looking for gametype mods, I would definitely recommend StrangeLove and Rocket Arena UT. I only played Tactical Ops for a little bit, but you're probably better off with CS 1.6. As for non-gametype mods, look for something called "Crotch Shot". I've always found that to be funny especially what pops up after you kill someone with it.

StrangeLove is basically a redeemer that you can ride on and fly around with. Rocket Arena has maps that are a set of maps. Basically each level has about 5-10 maps and people can switch between the maps to enter different arenas. The arenas vary as it can be 1v1, 2v2, or Team DM (there's usually one of these). You'll start out with max ammo and all weapons I believe (minus the redeemer) as you try to take out your opponent. The winner faces the next person in line and so on. The objective is to try and get the longest streak...or maybe the most points. I remember having loads of fun with this mod...not sure if the final version was 1.60 or later.

As for the others, I have no clue...but it couldn't hurt to try them.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Defense Alliance is also highly recommended. If you guys want to play sandbox and screw around with fun stuff, try Unreal4Ever or random mutators.

I can confirm that Unreal Fortress is no more, although there is a teeny tiny fanbase out there that might be able to hook you up if you can find them. It was a good game.

U4E forever! I have UT99 installed on this computer and have been playing it recently infact. Overkill weapons are loads of fun in small tight maps.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Thanks for the suggestions! The only one I got to work was Arena UT which isn't much fun 1 on 1. Infiltration was too laggy and Fortress completely crashed my UT files. xD

Anyways, UT is still pretty fun right now. Btw, there was this one time when I accidentally created an Assault game with a friend. And both of us were defending and 14 GODLIKE bots were attacking. Fucking fun. Never knew how to do it again though. Anyone know how? =D

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Did you update the game to the latest patch btw? Should be version 436.

Yup, all the computers have been updated.

Btw, are there any fun/humourous maps? And Assault maps?

How ya doing, buddy?

For maps. You would do well to pick up the UT 451 patch, which still works on 436 servers and is a semi-official update. Assault is a blast; too bad they scaled it back in 03/04 and killed it altogether for 07. (Onslaught is lame.)

If you're creating a server, you should be able to configure your bots, and you can just change the teams they're on and keep team balance off.

How ya doing, buddy?

You might want to get a hold of the older Tactical Ops versions. Before they went retail, they had this cool feature that added the option to put TO weapons in regular UT maps. It's what makes the older versions more valuable imo but sadly I don't know the version number anymore. I'll look it up and post here if I find something, I want to replay it again

Check out Reactor 4's Real Time Movie Studio. Takes a little practice to learn, but you'll have endless fun putting together cool movies. Also, I loved Matrix Moves when I still played UT99 back in the day.

I'm going to have to check some of these out. I play UT2004 from time to time and loved the original UT.

Guess I'll throw in that I'm a huge fan of the Strangelove mod. =p Rideable nukes are awesome, and it gets quite chaotic. I haven't played it since school though (kinda like how I just go back to games like UT and SC periodically anyway). I think it's time to bring it back. I think I'm still in a Strangelove clan that's still pretty active. I wonder if they'll let me play again...
