Aren't they already releasing this game in March or something?

By that time, people would've played PW:AA - Justice for All and know who the hell Franziska von Karma is anyway.

Either way, top game on my list for that month. Period.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Theme Park DS announced. :]

Pretty much just the original PC version, but that's a million times better than porting the crap factory that was Theme Park World!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

DS game recommendations?

I've played a lot of great DS games but I am at a point where I don't know what to get next. There are a number of DS games that interest me, but I was curious if anyone had played these and could offer any feedback on them:

Contact
Yoshi's Island 2
Megaman ZX (loved old-school MM, and Castlevania-style maps)
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Children of Mana
Deep Labyrinth (I enjoyed King's Field)
Mario 64 DS (never played the original)
Lunar: Dragon Song (huge fan of the Sega CD games)
Sonic Rush

are any of these "must haves"? Do they have a lot of replay value and/or long main quests? Am I missing anything from this list?

Currently own:
New SMB, Advance Wars DS, Final Fantasy III, Brain Age, Mario Kart, Mario & Luigi:PiT, Castlevania DoS/PoR, and Nintendogs.

I'm looking for games which:
are new iterations of classic games (Castlevania, New SMB)
have a lot of single player replay value (AWS) or has a single playthrough that lasts a couple of weeks (FFIII)
is something new and different which you can only enjoy on the DS (Brain Age, Nintendogs).

Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

Merged! Basically, stay the hell away from Lunar DS (even if it's free, stay away) aaaand get Phoenix Wright. It's the best thing to come outta Capcom since the NES Megaman box art. Sonic Rush is also pretty cool, just get ready for a lot of bottomless pits.

I asked this in my journal, but I guess I would get the best answer here.

Should I take the plunge with the first Phoenix Wright, or just jump ahead to the sequel (which is coming in like 2 months right?)?

OH MY. A website.
I've been keeping my eye on the release date of this game for the longest time, hoping and hoping that it would come earlier than 2007. I really hope they don't even think of cancelling or delaying this, although it's sort of nice to release it at a time in which I'm not interested in most other games.

I've never played the original, but I wonder if they will have added lots of new cards, or if this is merely a port of the NeoGeo Pocket version. Either way, this is the next game I can afford to be fanboyant about.

ashaman, I've never played a King's Field game before, but from what I hear most people who have enjoyed Deep Labyrith as well. I did play Deep Labyrinth myself though, and I can say that it does fit most of your criteria.

The game consists of two different scenarios, and they are both pretty lengthy (it took me at least twenty hours for both of them, meaning the game took me about forty hours in total to beat). As for gameplay, you use the touchscreen to do everything, including casting magic, which you have to draw on the screen yourself (similar to the game LostMagic, though, especially for someone like me who can't draw, this game is much more forgiving if you mess up).

And SOLDIER, you should definitely play the first one before the sequel. I don't know how many references the second one is gonna have to the first one, but you should play it first so you can catch them all. Plus, it's just a good introduction to all the characters and the world in general. It's also one of the best DS games ever, and probably has more stuff than the second one will anyway, since it has one case more than the second one does.

Get these. Only bother with Children of Mana if you liked Chocobo's Dungeon.

Since you have Portrait of Ruin you're capable of importing, so get Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan as well. I'd recommend Densetsu no Stafi 4 if you enjoy Kirby-style platforming.

I wish I could get Portrait of Ruin to work for me ;_;

But isn't the first NA game not actually the first game in the series?

Not sure where you heard that.

We're getting the games in the correct order, at least so far.

I mean, sure we never got PW as a GBA game (its original format), but we're getting the DS remakes in normal order.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Well mostly we seem to be getting things in the right order. Except the fact they're making number 4 directly for the DS (which makes sense). I would assume that 3 would perhaps get remade before 4 gets translated, but who knows, maybe we'll just jump straight from 2 to 4.

OP, they most likely will not release 4 out here before they make a remake of 3 and release it out here. I'm not even sure if Phoenix is even in the fourth game so I wonder if they'll just rename it.

How ya doing, buddy?

No, I don't think Pheonix is. From what I've heard they're trying to make more of the "Ace Attorney" part of the second game's name and try and carry the series on under that title. I believe Phoenix may not even be in 3. If could be arsed to look things up properly I could tell you for sure, but I can't be arsed right now.

Phoenix is in #3. You just don't play as him in the first case, because it's a flashback to a time when Phoenix was under trial.

You're right though, they've pretty much renamed it the Ace Attorney series, which means they probably intend to bring GS4 over one way or another.

Hey guys this thread totally needs some box art because I'm going through my folder at the moment and I'm bored (that's the secret behind going through the folder in the first place). Here are some upcoming games for various regions!

Yes, they're back!

I can't wait til Digimon Story 2 comes out here. Boxart looks spiffy.

That pinball game looks to be more of a "let's build your own pinball machine!" than actually playing a pinball game.

There's an upcoming game that looks interesting that I've never heard of before until yesterday. It's called Spectrobes, and is a monster raising game along the lines of Pokémon. What's unique about it is that you can colour customize your monsters and with the online connection, you can DL new monsters, clips and other stuff. Also, you can unlock new stuff with cards that come with the game. New cards are planned too, but they're supposedly totally free. Ya can't beat free, man. It's being developed by the same guys who did KH: CoM.

Yeah, Spectrobes looks pretty cool. A original IP from Disney on a video game system is a pretty rare sight. And it's by the team that made Pokemon Pinball so that's something! :]

Also hey Katamari and Klonoa confirmed for DS.

lolol it's some spot the difference game called QuickSpot.

Surprised nobody thought of making one of these for the thing earlier.

Hmm. Taiko no Tatsujin, Katamari and Klonoa. I'll just take some random guess and say it's being done by Namco.
