Apprently the hackers are getting more aggressive, PMs going back to zero and decors missing and other stuff have been happening to members at PSOworld, so I suggest people lock their rooms. I locked mine, nothing decent to sell anyway.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Oh god as if this isnt the worst of my problems, I'm having billing issues, and so does alot of people today, when we tried to renew our RECURRING subscriptions (being put on hold due to an error, how original and informative?), me and lot of people on the official PSU forums kep resuming it, and it kept going back to inactive. Can't even edit our credit card info.

God Sega, you screwed up Sonic by making a glitchy game, PSU is getting scrwed due to holes in programming, but errors that involve with BILLING, with real cold hard cash? Do they even know how bad it makes them look? This game is out for almost 2 monthes now, alot more in Japan, and there's a BILLING error? As if hacks arent enough, now I have to worry about my REAL money. I just hope it didnt bill me 10 times.

BTW Libram got his room hacked . Poor soul, his PM lvl 0 and all his decors gone... I hope he screnshoted his visitor log and then mail it to Sega. Thats what PSOWORLD is telling everyone to do if room has been hacked.

Don't go boasting about what you have on sale, what decors you have, your PM and don't advertise yourself as someone from PSO world.

And if your character starts spamming a website and profanity and racial slurs in bubble chat, you're getting chat hacked and either log off or switch servers.

I was speaking idiomatically.

If it bills you 10 times, you will get the money back.

I worry about Messenka(my PM) more than I worry about my decors since she is on my other character.

Locking your shop is ineffective.

My advice: Be real and don't bandwagon jump.

The funny part is that all of this began due to a dispute between two guys and their duplicated meseta on Ebay. The one guy was outselling the other, so in spite, the cheat method was made for public viewing, and all hell has broken loose ever since.

The Japanese hackers have been a lot quieter with their taking the client apart, and I kind of wish it would have stayed the same on our side of things. Oh well. Still going to enjoy the game regardless.

Weird, I didn't have any billing problems with the recurring one month, showed up normally on my card about a week or so ago.

Locking your room is ineffective, and so is screenshotting the visitor log; if a character is deleted, they will not show up any longer on your log. So if I created say Marcus, PM bombed Winter, then deleted Marcus afterwards, Marcus would not show up on the visitor log. I just created an alt and dumped my shop on there, so there's not much they can do :P. Still very annoyed I have to do even that though. We'll see how things go, maybe Sega will even fix it >_>

Actually some of them wanted to boast that they hacked the game, so they send a mail to the player they just stole, and they showed up on their visitor log. My advice is still try to screenshot if anything comes up suspicious, cause some of these guys are doing it for the "fame" too.

My PM is only lvl 4, and I have all my cash and decors with me. So I dun think there will be a huge problem on my end...

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Actually let me explain what's going on.

From what I know, locking helps to an extent.

First of all the first known method was believed to be related to the servers themselves. When universe traffic became heavy, the server had often times where they got confused of who was the actual owner of the room. So example: If you were to go back to your room, on days when there was heavy traffic, you might on a small chance end up in someone else's room with full access to their PM, storage, room decorations and common box. Its said that locking your room against this doesn't work because the server thinks you are its owner thus no need to enter the lock combination to enter. However by staying in your room or being offline will protect you from this bug. Of course landing into the room you want to hack is purely by luck and chance and HIGHLY unlikely you will get into the room you want to hack (but of course you will get jackasses that hack anything that comes into their way).

The 2nd thing that's been happening is that I hear is that hackers don't need room ownership to begin with to screw with you. Somehow they just need to be able to get into your room (via shop search or partner card), do some hacking and have access to your room and bam, PM zero'd before your eyes (if you were there while being hacked in the process) or do anything that the first bug indicated. For this part, locking your room does help to an extent (there are 10000 lock combinations so yeah) if you have a shop or if you suspect that a hacker may have your partner card. Another solution is to setup your shop on a dummy char and selll crap there. The most ridiculous solution is not to piss off the hackers.

I locked my room that's for sure. However we could setup a system here to sell items to each other or some kind of network to sell stuff.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

To clarify on the second method
They use a CE to bypass gameguard and edit the memory from there giving them the ability to claim ownership of the room they are in, and other things like meseta/item duping. They can't kick you out of your room for obvious reasons but they can do everything that you can do, except for room locking. They are being nice about it since they can empty out your common box and PM storage. They also have the ability to get your card without even having your card given to them. Much like the card hack in PSOGC(I was hit with this).

The only site that has a CE that was not patched because it is kept secret is owned by TMG. They are the real masterminds behind everything that has gone wrong since PSODC. Broomop and soulja were just wannabes. And let me just point out that the one doing this room hacking is the Admin of TMG himself and no one else.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Does anyone know if they do this, if they can take items out of your shop or change prices? I've seen yes and no. Everything else is kinda whatever since I moved everything to an alt, and don't keep anything in common storage.

I've not read about them being able to manipulate shops. If they can, I don't think they(TMG) will. There main focus appears to be meseta distributing(they sell meseta online) and PM bombing/room decor stealing.

You know this thread was such a nice change of pace from the bullshit whining over at PSOW.

Either way... keeping your room locked is a priority now. Even so.. I am surprised by the fact that there are still people willing to keep their room unlocked to sell stuff on their Main character.

Yesterday I bought 2 Cometaras for 60k a piece each I may be switching to wartecher soon so those Cometaras will come in handy. Now I need 2 Kikamis and 1 bow.

Well not everyone playing PSU probably broswes the websites or anything. I went 1 for 3 on my 8* shotgun board . Financially I'm right back where I started before all the synthing (about 80k), but I've got an 8* rifle, twin guns, and shotgun to show for it, so I suppose that's not bad. I think sometime in the near future I'll start to set up an alt character I want to start playing with as well. I'm off the next 5 days, so I should be on some.

Just wait for the REALLY rare weapons to come out. The economy will be jacked yet AGAIN! If you really wanna spend the time, you can get rich quite easily by searching for weapons with high % in player shops. Sometimes new people don't realize what they have there, and sell it for really cheap.

Daravon, is it possible for me to get your partner card? I also like to check out your shop sometime.

And I have a question, which is a better left handed range weapon to go with a saber, Handgun, crossbow, or machine gun? I'm a fighgunner.

Also what bullets should I get for said left handed range weapon and my twin handguns?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I personally like mechguns; to that end, I used Plasma Fury with it on my Ranger, due to being up close, the state it inflicts seems most useful there.

As to twin handguns, I use Twin Freeze on those (same character), just because I strafe mobs and fire those incessantly.

Just my recommendations. I got my Ranger up to 9, and Force to 20. Just trying to get the Force class to 10 so I can switch over to Fortetecher is taking forever. ;_;

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Well my alt's shop char name is Minvera, you can do a search by that if I'm not around.

-Honestly, mechguns suck. At later ranks ATA is a big deal, and mechguns just blow completely unless you're a fortegunner, but even then they're pretty meh. They do okay damage if you're hitting consistently, but you go through PP like nothing, AND they're stuck at Status Effect Level 1. If they went 1->2->3 they'd be alright. I can't think of any reason to reccommend them at all. They're pretty generally shunned by everyone.

-In handgun vs Crossbow, Crossbow will almost always in. They both have the same status effect levels (1-2-3). If you directly compare xbow/handguns of the same rank, you'll find that crossbows are a little stronger, a little more accurate, and have more PP. Crossbows have two disadvantages over handguns in your case though:
-Crossbows have a little shorter range than handguns. If you're using the ranged weapon just to hit them as you're running up to them, you may not like that.
-At lvl 11, Crossbows get 2 shots, however, they're in a fairly wide V pattern. This becomes awesome at 21 when you get 3 shots, but not so much until then. And you're going to be stuck at lvl 20 bullets, so not an option for you.

Basically you could saw the Crossbow is a better weapon on paper, but for your puposes at a figunner, it may be more akward than a handgun.

Edit: Oh, missed the bullet question. Depends on if you're going damage or status effects. Generally SE's are your main concern, since the elemental % on a bullet is only going to range from about 6-15%.

-Ice is awesome early on, I loved it the first few hundred hours. However, on S-ranks, Ice as a SE is pretty useless, since enemies will break out of it in 2-4 hits tops.
-Shock suprisingly takes over as probably the most commonly used bullet for SE's, because the duration is much longer, and it seems to be easier to apply it. With a lvl 21 shock shotgun (which only has lvl 2 SE), I can keep an entire room on LL S pretty much shocked consitently. Shock does not prevent all attacks, but it's solid.
-Fire is also a very useful SE at higher ranks. Even if you're fighting a fire enemy, if you get fire to stick, you do either 4%dmg for 5 ticks, or 5% dmg for 4 ticks (I forget which). This is a lot when enemies have thousands and thousands of HP on S-rank.
-Earth is generally pretty shitty (it does silence). However it does have some uses for sliencing the gohmons on S rank, and the temple people. It's good in general to have one earth weapon for those rare cases, as well as the fact that Parum is filled with lightning enemies. In your case though, since your guns are largely "backup," you may not need to bother.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I've got a guntecher and I wanted to ask you guys what you think of my set up

Crossbow (Fire) + Wand (Resta and Reverser)
Machine Gun (Lightning) + Dagger
Twin Handguns (Earth)
Longbow (Lightning)
Rifle (Ice)
Shotgun (Fire)

I'm thinking of replacing the dagger with another wand.

How ya doing, buddy?

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but after the month ends, do you have to manually subscribe for another month, or is it automatically renewed for you? Also, how long a break can you take before your character gets deleted? I remember people said that characters never get deleted, but I wanted to make sure whether that claim was revised or not.

I haven't been playing in forever, as I've been very busy in real life. Could I get a brief summary of what's been going on? Has the game gotten better or worse? More players to play with? More missions? Sounds like there's a hacking problem going on....

*sigh*... sad to say it, but it looks like I'll be leaving this game pretty soon. It just doesn't seem to be offering much these days. It's all too little too late. The only thing that really kept me going so long was the good people to hang out with. I'll stop by now and again to visit some people since I have a few months left on my account, but it looks like I'm just about done.

Instead of leaving permanently, I suggest checking back in a few months or so to see what's been added. Then at that time decide if you really want to quit or not heh.
