Damn the people who already set insane time records in Lemmings. I've tried to redo the floater level over and over but I can only finish in about 18 seconds (top scorers finish in 17).

Are you thinking about just returning the damaged box without opening it or why are you posting these pictures?
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
looks like a 60% chance nothing even touched the ps inside, dragoon.
On an unrelated sidenote, is it just me or does the flow of games seem very low ? It seems like nothing is coming out and the whole lineup of launch titles is crappy. What's the point in releasing the system early then? Just wondering. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Same with most console launches. Wii honestly had a rather weak initial lineup as well (albeit with more quality titles than PS3's), and their release forecast is almost nil until Spring 2007. It tends to go that way, though there's still plenty of good things to play till then on both the new consoles and existing ones.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
I cop'd my ps3 today. 60 gig, new/sealed and hidden somewhere . 2 of them. I didn't bother reading all the posts but I am wondering if the models that we get after the first release are still defects or something. Mine is just laying there collecting dust. Askin what games are out there. I was looking at Genji at least .Anybody play that game yet?

So has anyone tried using their PS3 controller on a PC yet?
http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=45209 I'm curious to find out if it really works as a standard USB controller that games actually recognize or if the few posters who couldn't get it to work weren't just butterfingers after all. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |

Also, I ended up enjoying Lemmings more than I thought. My first (and until now, only) experience was the SNES game, which I only rented but certainly enjoyed. I read about different variations in the sequels (some that worked, some that didn't), but I'm glad the PS3 version keeps the core gameplay of the SNES game. It's also very clean and colorful for a mini-game, and I like the option of being able to zoom in and fast forward. The fact that the Lemmings are cuter makes it all the more tragic when they explode, drown, or splatter from a great height. Also, does anyone know a site or forum that regularly updates on the features of PS3 Linux? I burned the Linux into a DVD, but I haven't bothered to use it since my new LCD lets me hook up my PC to it, thus eliminating my primary interest with YDL (the emulators). I did read news about someone managing to upconvert PS1/PS2 games, so I'm waiting for an update on that. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Got the controller working on my PC with that, thanks Just got done playing some PSU with it.
How ya doing, buddy? |
But is it wireless or USB?

USB. My computer can't read bluetooth.

Out of curiousity, Did anyone get a movie with the ps3? I got HD Talledega Nights XD.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Yes. Unfortunately it's a lousy transfer as far as Blu Ray is concerned. For a look at what the format is capable of, watch Corpse Bride, Monster House or Ice Age 2.

well yes all first shipment of the ps3 was coming with the same blu-ray movie Talledega Nights (which I still didn't watch and don't plan too) but the Eb games where I got it was giving another free blu-ray movie and you had to choose it from a little pile. I immediately spot the only copy of The fifth element and took it XD

Awesome news on the controller Cobalt. Tried any other games with it? Jam it back in, in the dark. The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even. |
Nah, I don't really have any emulatory things on my computer though now that I have a working controller I may nab an SNES one and give some stuff a whirl.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
BTW, I'm looking forward to your feedback on what the controller works/doesn't work with, Cobalt. How ya doing, buddy? The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even. |
Pretty much any movie made before the DVD format can't really be improved upon from the original. However almost all movies since then are shot with digital HD cameras that have much better resolution then that of a DVD and take gigabytes of strage to hold, these are the movies that will be able to use BR, that and animated films as pointed out earlier.

The PS3 controller looks to be compatable with any application/game that accepts controller input. I figured out what all the button labels are, for those interested:
B1 - Select B2 - L3 (Stick click) B3 - R3 (Stick click) B4 - Start B5 - Dpad Up B6 - Dpad Right B7 - Dpad Down B8 - Dpad Left B9 - L2 B10 - R2 B11 - L1 B12 - R1 B13 - Triangle B14 - O B15 - X B16 - Square Right Analog - Z-axis (for PSU camera control mapping) What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |

That is correct.
Sorry if I was confusing you though. But I meant that for there to be a large difference from DVD to BR it has to have been done via digital recording, where as you pointed out, a DVD can be made from a film source with improved quality, however if you use that same film for a BR version, it'll look pratically identical to the DVD version. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Maybe I'm wrong, but as far as I know, the first movie that have been completly shot with digital HD cameras is Star Wars Episode II - Attacks of the clone, and that was in 2001.

I love the PS3 with a passion and its game quality is going to be threw the roof when more come out within the year. But there is one thing I have to complain about and that is the controller. First, I actually wanted the "BAT" a rang style one just because it was new and interesting. But the old design works for the PS2 and PSone so I cant really complain about the design. My complaint really has to do with the removal of the rumble feature.
Come on Sony, are you telling me that just because the two systems (i.e. six axle rotation and rumble feature) cant live together with an on\off feature? I want that rumble feel again, it is what made the game just alittle bit more involving. Sure tilting the controller to fly around is fun, but I want to feel that grenade explode next to me. That is my only complaint at the moment with the new system along with launch titles kinda sucking it alittle too much. There's nowhere I can't reach.
