Beverly Hills Cop 4 is coming!!!

With the first two being among 2 of my favorite comedies of all time, this comes as great news!

http://comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=17753
Quote:
Eddie Murphy will return as detective Axel Foley in Beverly Hills Cop IV, working with Paramount in collaring Lorenzo di Bonaventura as producer, reports Variety.

The new regime at Paramount is keen on reviving the classic action-comedy franchise. Murphy will work closely with the studio and di Bonaventura in reinvigorating and updating the once-lucrative property. The project is out to writers.

Murphy, who will next be in theaters with Dreamgirls, has always been attached to star in the fourth installment.

The first two pics in the franchise, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and his former partner Don Simpson, did enormous box office. Beverly Hills Cop collected $315.7 million worldwide, while the sequel earned $299.6 million worldwide.

The franchise ran into trouble with the release of Beverly Hills Cop III in 1994. The movie grossed only $44 million domestically.
Good to know Eddie Murphy is back to doing some decent roles for once!

More like 50.....ish!

I don't care, this is the only sequel of an older film I've been itching for. Axel Foley is one of those characters who could probably still work as an older man. I can't wait!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Eddie Murphy has a career still? His brother Charlie is more popular and famous than him right now. (IMO)

yep can't wait been romoured for such a long time now. Good to hear something solid now. Murphy doesn't look 50 at all.
And please dont make it so kiddy like the 3rd, it was a complete joke. I really hope they bring the others back, the mighty trio must reunite.

Last I heard Tarantino was considering directing it.

his brother is nowhere near as talented, his popularity is largely thanks to Dave Chappelle

I was speaking idiomatically.

Hmmm, interesting. I am surprised to see that he would reprise a role from all those years ago. Well, I guess its something to see since after all these years they can have some sort of fresh idea.

I only watched one of them so the whole premise of the show isn't my greatest of knowledge.

Well this could make for interesting watching. Having the gang back together again would a good thing for the film. I just hope that they put a decent story into it.

Also, according to IMDB, Eddie Murphy is 45.

Jaws

He-man, lol just kidding but Fox axed that idea recently.

Would be kinda interesting to see a Brazil type movie, always loved that film.

Haha. Charlie Murphy being Charlie Murphy in a Beverly Hills Cop movie would be hilarious. For about twenty minutes. The idea still made me laugh, though.

I don't know if I wanna sit through another one of these movies. Eddie Murphy irritates me nowadays, and honestly, the only thing the movies had going for them was that Axel F song. Oh god, I've gotta go download that.

This is awesome, been waiting for this for a long time. Eddie is really talented but he has been in some iffy roles latley especially with all is family movies. Here is to hoping they keep this rated R murphy fun.

Okay, so theres a new Rocky movie due out this month.

Rambo IV is in the pipeline - something about Rambo coming out of retirement to save hostages from terrorists.

And now Axel Foley?

I suggest Axel, Rambo and Rocky team up to fight Conan, Remo Williams and Charles Bronson IMMEDEATELY.

Well - considering that Aliens Versus Predator 2 is taking place in a K-Mart - I think its only a matter of time before we find out who wins in a Conan/Rambo brawl.

This is interesting news. I hope the movie doesn't bomb at the box office like the 3rd one (though I personally thought it wasn't that bad).

I don't think I've seen the third one, but I loved the first two.

It's been nearly 20 years since the 2nd, and apparently the third one wasn't that great, but hopefully the fourth one ends up being as good as I hope it'll be.

I had no idea they made a third one!

Although Eddie Murphy's career at this point is just sad.

If they don't screw up where Beverly Hills Cop 3 screwed up, and the keep it in tune like 1 & 2, I'll be seeing this.

The biggest surprise to me in this thread is that there is, apparently, a Beverly Hills Cop 3. This reminds me of when I found out that there was a Home Alone 4.

Hmm...well I enjoyed the first 2, i'll look the 3rd one up.
