What, you found some gold? Tell the others, we'll all eat gold tonight!
So hey, the precious 128-bit generation is reaching its end. Sorta, I mean, GameCube and Xbox have pretty much been dead for quite some time now. They're officially alive, still pumping out a whopping handful of games every now and then, but we all know they're dead. Though PlayStation 2 is a beast and will more than likely continue on for another few years, the developers aren't going to toss it many exclusive big budget titles anymore. The store shelves will eventually mutate into a slew of ultra budget games, just like what the PSone became during its final struggle to survive!
So what have you missed out on? There's been an awful lot of games this generation! A lot of games flew right under the radar, getting ignored in favour of more important titles at the time. And this is the best time to pick some of them up as stores clear out stock! Don't worry, my rambling is going somewhere (it's not really), basically it's like an underrated games thread. I think we had something like this in the Sony section before, it was pretty cool. Recommend some games that haven't been all that popular, but are well worth the awesome time to pay a few bucks for. Enlighten us! Excitement! It doesn't have to be a multiplatform game, it can be exclusive to one of the consoles. Doesn't matter! Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube, Dreamcast, even Game Boy Advance (it's not 128-bit but it's dying too!). Please don't come running in and list games that everyone and their dog knows about, no "SMASH BROS. MELEE, HALO 2, GRAND THEFT AUTO!" or I'll shake my fist. So hard. SO HARD. It might shatter, and I'll cry. So hard. And please write a little bit about the game, tell us what it's about, what console(s) it's on and stuff! Maybe chuck in a screenshot! If you just list the game title and hit submit it's gonna bloody well be deleted. Here I go with my GUSHING RIVER OF PRAISE for two games! And yeah I'm just being an ass with the box art.~ ![]() Hulk: Ultimate Destruction It's on Xbox, GC and PS2. :] Forget the first Hulk game (the one that followed the movies storyline and played like friggin' Metal Gear Solid), this one is a real simulation of HULK SMASH. Go batshit insane in a pretty large city! Oh there's a storyline and stuff, missions and all that, but the main reason to play this is to just break shit. You earn 'smash points' by.. smashing stuff, these can be used to buy new moves. Some of them are hilariously awesome, like being able to flaten a bus and use it as a skateboard, or catch rockets and throw them back at the enemy. Cars can be picked up and hurled around, people can be punched in the gob, buildings knocked to the ground (some of them), it lives up to the name. Hulk can jump REALLY HIGH, too. It's pretty fun just leaping from roof to roof, you can also run right up the side of a building, it's crazy. Sometimes you'll see inflatable balloon mascot things, you can pick them up and jump off buildings and float around town. Take in the sights while robots shoot at you. Mmmm. Personally I have fun picking up random people and putting them on top of a building, then watching them run straight off the edge and try to catch them before they hit the ground. HULK SAVES THE DAY! The game also has bonus missions all over the place, ranging from playing golf with a lamp post as your club in the park to jumping off buildings and trying to land on the target below. It's a great game to play in short bursts! ![]() ![]() ![]() Second Sight Everyone's a winner for Second Sight! Even the PC! Developed by Free Radical (the GoldenEye and TimeSplitters duuuudes), the game completely bombed, sales wise. Possibly because it went up against Midway's Psi-Ops which launched at roughly the same time with a much bigger marketing push. Both games focus on psychic powers (of doom). Second Sight was one of the few games that actually drew me in with the story even though it's not that great, you start the game knowing as much as the main character, shit all. No memory, what an original story! You wake up in a secret government medical facility looking like crap, and suddenly KABLAMO telekinesis. You're able to move stuff around with your mind, wow! Throughout the game you'll endure interactive flashback scenes, travel all over the place and gain more psychic abilities. From being able to 'take over' other people to projecting an image of yourself so you can go explore the level for a short amout of time without the worry of being shot to bits. The ragdoll physics are pretty fun while picking up enemies with your mind and slamming them against walls over and over again. You can use guns, but pffft, guns. Some levels have slight platforming elements and puzzles to solve (with your mind!) It can get pretty freaky and dark at times ('sup mental asylum), but there's still humour to be found! Like, walking up to a computer, not knowing the password, he'll type stuff like "I DON'T KNOW" in, or "THE PASSWORD". I dunno, I really enjoyed the game. ;_; Only paying $20 at the time helped, too. Really nice music as well! ![]() ![]() Hey Q, I bet you thought I'd put SOS The Final Escape in here! Maybe later. =) Jam it back in, in the dark.

Castle Shikigami 2-Probably well known to shmup fans, probably new to everyone else. Classic overhead-style shooter with sweet 3D graphics, special attacks and multiple characters. Only $10 or so and is surprisingly easy to find used.
La Pucelle, Growlanser Generations*, Ys: Ark of Napishtim-Three of the "lesser knowns" in the RPG world which are among my favorites in genre. Pucelle was the first SRPG I played since FFT and I really liked the character-driven story (as opposed to FFT's plot-driven story) and the myriad of options available (it was my introduction to Nippon Ichi). Definitely deserves more than being in Disgaea's shadow. Growlanser II (a PS1 game released as a PS2 game, actually) is another strong character-driven RPG with multiple paths, a great storyline and a very unique real time battle system (not to mention some of my favorite character designs) I'm amazed how much I missed the first time around. Haven't torn through III yet, but that's more out of wanting to wait and savor it.And Ark of Naphishtim was a more action-oriented Zelda 3 and was just a good time to play through. And technically, Suikoden V, because no one outside of the series' fanbase probably played it, but definitely worth of recommendation/mention/pimping. And one I discovered by complete accident: Tiny Toons Scary Dreams for GBA. Didn't know what to expect from the ROM, but it was a fiendishly clever (and difficult) combo-laden sidescrolling beat-em up. But with helpers (ala Marvel vs Capcom 2)! It's kind of button-mashey, but it's strategic mashing at the same time, since you're being hit from all sides and your partners die if they get hit too much. I couldn't get past level 2, but I had a great time getting there. This is one I'm definitely going to try to pick up an actual copy for myself, though I much preferred using a full joypad for it. Oh and it's by Treasure...Just thought I'd throw that out. There's nowhere I can't reach.

Ecoo the Dolphin (DC, then PS2) - I know everyone's heard of the game, but not many people have actaully played it. It's a long and difficult underwater adventure. Like all the others. But the 3D imagery and the wonderful ambient music bring this game to life unlike any other dolphin game before it.
Wow. That's all I can think of right now. ![]() This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Infernal Monkey you just made a fool out of yourself by not mentioning Dreamcast, the initial and best 128 bits console on your post.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
![]() This is easily the best fighting game Capcom has made since Capcom vs SNK. You choose from one of several quirky anime-styled characters (The ambitious pilot, Falcon, the giant bandit guy, Gunrock, the stereotypical samurai, Ryoma, etc) and fight in arena battles for posession of the Power Stone, which grants you a single wish or something. Just about everything can be used as a weapon. Chairs, tables, potted plants, it can all be picked up and thrown at your enemy. In addition to these, there are various weapons that spawn on the battle field or in treasure chests like bombs, rocket launchers, swords, giant hammers and flamethrowers for maximum lol. Some unlockable weapons are a gattling gun and a nyoi bo. (Not unlike Goku's in Dragon Ball.) Once you collect three Power Stones (Not to be confused with the wish-granting one. These are different. Somehow.) you go into a cheap overdrive transformation mode where all your attacks are stronger and you get two super moves for massive damage. Wang Tang apparently is a Super Saiyan and knows all of Goku's moves, as evidenced by his "Big Dragon Ball" (Spirit Bomb) and his short Kamehameha bursts. ![]() The boss characters are the pirate, Kraken and a pro-wrestler-looking man named Valgas who uses the Power Stone in the final battle to transform into a huge dinosaur/mutated Tetsuo creature that starts the fight with a big mouth beam that takes off a good chunk of your health if you don't move in time. It's sequel is meant more as a party game, with 4-player battles a la Smash Bros. which would probably be better if the camera didn't pan out so far you couldn't see your characters. This great game has hardly gotten any recognition except from the few people who actually played it. Before I actually got it, my cousin and I would play the one level with two characters over and over on the demo disc that came with the Dreamcast. Hopefully the PSP release will garner a little more attenion. I was speaking idiomatically.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
In that case: Project Justice. Amazing it hasn't been ported to another system yet. This is how to do the whole Street Fighter EX thing right. Just a great looking and playing fighter...Lot's of crazy moves, but plenty of strategy is needed as well (or at least a good sense of when to pull the double or triple team trigger). I'd love to see a sequel to this one.

Power Stone is great and all but who can forget Capcoms only good 2D style 3D fighter, Project Justice! (The REAL sequal to Rival Schools) IMO this is the only game to truely catch the gameplay of the capcom VS games in 3D. It's all in here: Super jumps, air combos, double team supers, triple team supers, and *GASP* a pretty interesting story!
EDIT: Awesome! Me and Goldfish posted at almost the same time and about the same game. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Technic Beat
for PS2 by Arika/Mastiff 1-2 Players --- ![]() ![]() ![]() A rather unknown game, many people haven't heard of this one ever. It's a rhythm game, with a relatively unique style of play. Before you lump this in with DDR or whatever, the method of play is not even close. You press buttons with the right timing usually to the song, in correspondence with the rapidly expanding circles in order to perfect explode them. The result is a vibrant screen full of flashing epilepsy, and a usually pleasant melody, which you can subtly tweak to create your own arrangements of! The song choice is somewhat questionable with several unknown originals, but you'll be pleased to find a lot of Namco remixes which should be familiar if you're an old school Namco gamer, or have ever played Taiko Drum Master. Mappy, Dragon Spirit and Ridge Racer, just to name a few, thankfully obliterate any thoughts of putting in licensed crap to try to arrange. You can play against another player, or even cooperatively to try to complete the song (which is harder than you think, trying to decide the most efficient way to allocate yourselves over circles). There are a couple of different characters to pick which are sort of built-in difficulty modifiers on their own with some characters being rather difficult to play with. I actually don't recommend Technic Beat for anyone who isn't into the genre. It's quite a unique experience. The Adventures of Cookie and Cream for PS2 by Agetec 2-8 Players --- ![]() ![]() Why not 1-8 Players, you might ask? You're screwed if you have no friends, because in this game, teamwork is VITAL (unless you're one of those crazy hardcore gamers, and have beyond-exceptional controller aptitude). What do I mean? The screen is split into half and you are a a bunny on one half. The other bunny is hopefully controlled by another person, and you two have to work together to beat a level. For example, you pull a switch in order to unlock a gate on the other person's side of the screen, so that they may proceed and help you when a similar obstacle is encountered. Pure genius, and pure insanity! Let me tell you, this game is NOT even for kids. Kids would cry at the difficulty of some of the later levels. Even more innovative, you don't even need 2 controllers, since two of you can share a controller! How's that for originality? Highly recommended. How ya doing, buddy? |
EDIT: Also on NeoGeo AES and CD.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Gotta put in Ghost Hunter for PS2. I had never heard of it until i saw it in the second hand bin for 8 bucks. I figured i'd try it out, and was pleasantly surprised. So far it's got the best voice acting i've ever heard in a game, and maintains an interesting gameplay environment. It gets a little repetative, but i personally have no trouble overlooking that. I highly suggest it as a buy it if you see it for cheap title.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
One of my favorite games during this generation was Rez. It was a unique experience which can be replayed over constantly and won't become old. The style runs a lot like Panzer Dragoon, an on-rails shooter. It's pretty easy to pick up and play. One of the few reasons to own an xbox was for Jet Set Radio: Future. While I enjoyed the first game, I didn't really like the style. I thought the second one had a better OST, and it waas so much larger. The original's great, really, but the second title did everything right. The controls, music, customization of tags, everything. I spent so many hours on this game you'd think I were playing an RPG. Panzer Dragoon Orta is a title you're either going to love or hate. Not everyone digs the restriction of on-rail shooters, but there's ways to counter this without it being a free-range game. The language is beautiful, and the story well told. Thes econd chapter is especially stunning with the plant life and different creatures. This game's moderately difficult as well. There's a game which once in a blue moon, delivers everything you could possibly want. A great story, multiple endings, extreme customization, funny humour, post-game activities, and Item World. Disgaea is just the kind of game which does this. The characters are well designed and detailed, and as are the levels (which were hand-drawn prior to being turned into actual stages). The game's 2D feel is great, and the sheer amount of hours you can get out of this title is absurd. Gitaroo Man is one of the most entertaining and hard games I've ever encountered. The main game itself isn't hard, but Masters Play is fucking ridiculous. The range of songs ranges anywhere from jpop to rock to jamacian. I think it does a good job of being a unique, quirky little rhythm game which seemingly went under everyone's radar. Okami is a visually stunning japanese-esque title. It's rare that I see games of this kind venture outside of japan, but I'm glad it did. I haven't completed the game myself, but the story so far is great. I'm loving the graphics and the cel-shading they've done on this game. The screenshots here don't do Under Defeat any justice whatsoever. This is one of the last games released for the Dreamcast, and one of the most beautiful ones too. It's a helicopter vertical shooter which allows you to change your angle of shooting in a 90 degree radius. You can lock it into place by continuing to hold fire, and you can deploy a "pod" which also shoots at things if you refrain from shooting for a certain period of time. One of the most beautiful and difficult games of this generation is Ikaruga. Some say that chaining is all that's going for it, but ultimately they suck and don't realize that this is about BLOWING SHIT UP. As hard as the game is, the incentive to clear the entire game on a single credit remains. It really tests your eye coordination as well. I just wish Treasure would release an OST of Ikaruga because Ikaruga's OST is fucking amazing and really fits the feel of the game. And surprisingly for a shooting game, it has a rather detailed story. There's a fair few games I'm missing here. Honorable mentions are Mushihimesama, Ace Combat Zero, F-Zero GX and Shadow of the Colossus. I'm trying to avoid games I haven't completed/played thruogh since I can't give a proper opinion on them. I'm forgetting a few others as well, but whatever. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
BORDER DOWN
![]() ![]() ![]() Created by G.Rev, a company composed by former Taito employes that worked on the best PSX shmup G-Darius, also from Ikaruga and Under Defeat fame (BTW kudus to Elixir by mentioning both these games and Rez & JSRF). Its a horizontal shmup that focus more on shooting and dodging than anything else, there's no power ups, strange transformations or whatnot. Just plain shoots and a powerfull laser. Also as these are the same guys from Darius, this game also features various 'paths' called borders. I would explain the game further but it's 1AM here and Im sleppy, maybe tomotrow I'll go in details. I was speaking idiomatically. |
RAMPAGE: TOTAL DESTRUCTION
![]() Available for Wii,, PS3 and GCN! Sure, people say the Rampage series are horrible repetitive, BUT SO WHAT. Who doesn't like to be a giant monster, destroying skyscrapers and everything else not nailed down, eating silly pathetic humans in your wake? This new version of Rampage comes with lots of new monsters in addition to the classic 3 (Lizzie, Ralph and George), including warthogs, sharks and a jackalope, each with their own stats for jump, run and smash. Each monster has preferences for certain foods. Only one monster likes to eat cats, for instance. Buildings can now be climbed from the front, in addition to the sides, which makes destroying them even better! Of course, the humans are trying to stop you with a zillion soldiers, tanks, helis and even bombers! The dialogue from the humans are hilarious. My favourite is "You can't eat me! I'm a lawyer!" Fun fun. ![]() CUBIVORE/ANIMAL LEADER ![]() An oldie but goodie! A rare gem on the GCN, this is like a 3D version of EVO for the SNES, but it stars cubes! Lots of it! CUBES! You are made up of cubes. The enemies are also made up of cubes. The whole darn environment is made up of cubes! Even the blood is a square! Eat, sleep, mate! CUBES! ![]() THE END What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Additionally this game scored a 5.3 and it isn't available for PS3 like you say. FELIPE NO |
Well, the Wii game just came out (obviously), and it has the exact same title, so I just added it in. It's for PS2 and GCN as well, so it fits the requirements. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
ALIEN HOMINID
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() One of the wierdest games of the past generation is Alien Hominid, it plays just like Metal Slug but you are an yellow alien that was shot down and robbed by the FBI. It's for XBox (PAL), GC (NTSC-U), PS2 (Both regions) and a crappy GBA version. A Hi Defenition 720p version is planned for XBox 360 Live Arcade. Graphics are all 480p resolution (that means no scaled up 320x240 sprites) handrawn with this strange style that resembles to a 10 yrs old kid drawing with a lot of jokes on the background. I don't play it that much because I don't like Metal Slug 1 bullets and you're dead gameplay, but you have enough lifes to finish it and you can continue from any completed level. A very intresting game if you have in mind that this was Behemoth (the creators) first game and started as a flash game! And check this out -> Co-operative gameplay! Oh Yeah! Jam it back in, in the dark.

I don't think Disgaea counts as a buried treasure there, Lix.
That said, this list needs a heaping dosage of ![]() I'm not kidding, either. It's an underwater action game that involves you using your sonar to track enemies. It's not particularily complicated or deep, but it's good solid fun. I got it because I was at a friend's house and they had it, and they didn't really like it, so they just gave it to me. It's surprisingly decent and I recommend it to people who are looking for something a little bit different. Not a lot of games feature underwater combat anymore. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Then suddenly a year or two later, everyone wants it again. Prices of Disgaea on ebay are ridiculous, even though Atlus has reprinted it a few times. The demand for the game is pretty insane compared to the day of it's release, which was 2003. Back then nobody cared for it, and the game slipped under everyone's radar. I remember just buying Phantom Brave because it was made by Nippon Ichi, the same guys who made Disgaea. Since I didn't have a credit card and I couldn't import back then, I actually paid full price for a game that was like one which I really wanted. I was desperate. But Phantom Brave was a pretty good game as well. Aside from the "you will vanish in x turns" thing, fuck that. The story was subtle though. I liked the characters and art, which prompted me to buy La Pucelle. I think all Nippon Ichi games are either fan purchased, or extreme cult classics. Mind you, the japanese sRPG genre isn't that huge. In fact, I'll dare you to find another sRPG made in the last year by a company who isn't Nippon Ichi. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Yeah, I've never actually seen a copy of the first one around here. Not that I would have wanted to pay $100 for that butchered PAL version anyway. But surprisingly I've seen the PAL Disgaea 2 in a number of shops in the past week (even comes with a soundtrack CD!) Also major <3's to Sub Rebellion, Skills.
![]() Billy Hatcher GaaameCube. It was one of the few true exclusive third party titles for the system but it still got shoved out of the way. Poor Billy Hatcher. It's by far the best thing Sonic Team's done in 3D, that might not sound like much but the game is really quite cool. You play as a goofy kid in a chicken outfit who's an expert in rolling eggs around. That's the greatest hobby a boy can have! Little Pokemon rip-off type things can hatch from them to help you out, you can roll over enemies, you can solve puzzles with them. Eggs can do everything. The levels are... I dunno, they're very bright and happy looking, but not enough to blind you. It's nice. With a lot of Donkey Kong Country style barrel blasting bits and stuff to find. There's the typical themes, a pirate level, snow, beach, all that. Sure there's the usual Sonic Team bugs (bad clipping, spastic camera), but they're nowhere near as bad as they are in the Sonic Adventure games. Oh and the main theme music is both terrible and awesome.![]() ![]() I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Where is SOS The Final Escape? you've ruined my life Infernal Monkey ;_;
Anyway, heres a game I think alot of people skipped over. ![]() Bujingai Swordmaster ![]() ![]() ![]() I picked up this one soon after it was released hearing it was essentially a watered down Devil May Cry. It's a great hack and slash with some great areas and ideas. It may not be perfect but it was one of the more fun games I played this generation. I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() Welcome to Silent Hill

Genji: Dawn of the Samurai (PS2)
![]() I loved this game. I had so much fun with it, even though it was short. There were two playable characters--Yoshitsune and Benkei. Yoshi was quick, wielded two katanas, and had a lot of very acrobatic moves. Benkei was gigantic and wielded either a huge club or a naginata. Each of the weapons were aesthetically different as were the armor, so your characters' appearance was ever-changing. Combat was quick and fun, and Kamui was awesome to use. Kamui slowed down time and became a button-pressing minigame wherein you could utterly defeat your enemies in slow motion. Cool. The game's environments were really well done, too. ![]() ![]() ![]() Zone of the Enders: 2nd Runner (PS2) ![]() Mech-based combat at its finest. Within my own gaming experiences, the targetting is near-perfect. Lots of enemies on-screen, each with different methods of fighting. Some of the mechs were close range, some were long-range and ultra long-range. ZOE2 used anime cutscenes and while the dialogue has been criticized for being awkward, it's still understandable. Graphically, it uses a bit of cel-shading on 3D models, making some of the colors a bit more vibrant and the explosions incredible. Another short game, but loads of fun. It even has a versus mode and a ton of unlockable side missions, even a 3D take on Gradius! ![]() ![]() ![]() Legaia: Duel Saga (PS2) ![]() I had a lot of fun with the first game, so I instantly went and snagged this game. The battle system is obviously the best thing about it--you use combinations of left, right, up, and down attacks to figure out new combos, of which you can chain together for massive damage. The characters have special attacks too, but the only magic-user is a girl, and she uses (instead of up, down, left, right) earth, fire, water, and wind. Pretty cool. Graphically, Legaia 2's not overly impressive, and the voices could use some work, but not too bad. Casino-based mini games and even an auction house will keep you from being too bored. There's also an arena and a flower-watering competition...thing. Really fun game though. ![]() ![]() Also, I want to second Megalixir's post about Okami. This game is amazing, comparable with Zelda on every level save for Zelda being a series. This game will likely be the only one. Artisitically beautiful, cel-shaded graphics replicate watercolor paintings to give the game a very mystical, ancient feel. Combat's a blast, where Amaterasu can wield a few different types of weapons -- reflectors (shields that guard, but also swing like a sword), glaives (huge swords) and rosaries (beads strung together which can either be used like a whip or fired in succession). The music is fantastic, the characters range from being absolutely hilarious to quite serious. Issun, though, has got to be the most perverted and funny sidekick ever. For an NPC, he's actually got a rather deep and involved story that ties into the main plot. Well done, Clover Studios. And saving the best for last... Dark Cloud 2 (PS2) ![]() This is what every sequel should be. Truly, over 100 hours of gameplay would make you think "repetition" and admittedly, there is some. But it's good repetition. It's an action-rpg dungeon-crawler hybrid sorta sim city thing. You go into the dungeon and find treasure, get the key to unlock the door, and pick up stuff called Atla. All the while, you gain experience and level your weapons up to greater power. Once you get stuck in the dungeon, that's often a cue to go back to the town and start rebuilding it after a colossal disaster ruins the world. You recreate towns and once you get them completely rebuilt, you can travel to the future and see what affect your present has had on the future. It's really cool stuff. The whole game is cel-shaded, making everything look very vivd and sharp. There are loads of minigames too--fishing, a weighing contest, a fish race, Spheda (a golf-like minigame), and really just fooling with the Atla and the towns. DC2 also has a relatively deep and inviting invention system, where you can create new weapons, clothes, items, and stuff for the main character's robot, Ridepod. That's the coolest part of the game. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? Reading -- Bleach, Claymore, Chun Rhang Yhur Jhun, NOW, Zero: Beginning of the Coffin, Black God, Twelve Kingdoms (novels), History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi Watching -- Bleach Playing -- Fable II, Valkyria Chronicles, Guitar Hero: World Tour, Star Ocean: First Departure, LittleBigPlanet, MegaMan 9, Mirror's Edge

![]() Sonic Adventure 2 Released 5 months after Dreamcast announced its bowing out of the hardware aspect of video gaming, this game had it all: Fast gameplay, lovely, vibrant graphics, VERY good music/OST--though the story was pretty much the same...Dr. Robotnik uses *such and such*/creates *such and such* to take over the earth. But it was a formula that seemed to never fail in Sonic Team's 10+ years of the blue, spiky-haired furball. Though, after SA2/Battle (GCN), things went to the trash with Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, and the newly released Sonic the Hedgehog for nextgen. The all around shoddy gameplay and botched controls SOMEHOW made its way to the nextgen Sonic, making it the worst outing from Sonic Team...EVER. FELIPE NO ![]() [ SCHWARZE-5 - Helger Collins ]

Those look like the three worst games I've ever seen Southjag.
![]() This is the best game on ever ok. The fact is, the playing of this game, beating off on drums, is already more fun than most videogames but then mixed with the most polished 2D platformer released since the Super Nintendo and you have the best game of all time. It's the ultimate in pick up and play, literally anyone jsut just start beating off and make Kong walk around and demolish shit in his way. And then it has this combo system making it one of the trickiest games to master. I've seen Grubdog play it and that shit is insane and the fact is, NovaX has higher scores than him over at the NWR leaderboard. But see for yourself. ![]() Here's Dk beating the shit out of some cunt. Look at him go! THis is awesome. ![]() Look now he's riding a motherfucking bison! Can you do that shit? NO OF COURSE NOT BECUASE YOU'RE NOT EXTREME LIKE DK! ![]() And here he is, flouting platforming convention by walking to the left of screen. Have you tried that Mario? OF COURSE NOT YOU WEAK PLUMBER! ![]() WHAT FUCKERS DEEMED THE PS2 A GOOD SYSTEM FOR THIS? Mashed is the greatest multiplayer game on a console. On Xbox at least, the PS2 version is severly limited by the PS2's pathetic number of controllers. You can share a controller and play it but me and my mates tried that and it was extremly gay, we might as well have started kissing. Whatever, this is MicroMachines, but in 3D and not shithouse. ![]() Here's everyone, wetting their pants in anticipation at the amount of fun they're about to have. ![]() LOOK AT THIS! Fucking hooning around that corner. See that on the pink car? That's a minigun. Bitch ain't taking shit from anyone. It's on PC too! What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
![]() Sengoku Basara 2. Take Dynasty Warriors 3 + 5, add 8000 soldiers per map, japanese characters that possess different elemental attributes based on ancient japanese stories, and play. This game's a lot like Bujingai, Dynasty Warriors and Otogi all in a sense. Bordering Dynasty Warriors more though. The original title was released in america as Devil Kings, which was just a senseless "smash everything you see" game that had absolutely no story whatsoever. Basara 2 seems to have quite a large story and it's easily playable even if you don't know japanese. The characters and their different attacks are unique, such is the combo chaining system which can reach 500+ providing you've got skill (some characters have low range, for example.) I'm really enjoying playing this game. And for the special price I got it for, I can't complain. The story might be a little farfetched for some (even if you don't know japanese, it just appears as "HEHE, I'M AT THE TOP OF THIS MOUNTAIN, FIGHT GUYS THEN COME FIGHT ME") but it's colorful and well presented. Dynasty Warriors' series is neat too, but it gets a little drab after awhile. This game would immediately fail if it were to come outside of japan. Simply because the director said that if they were to release it outside of their own region, they'd remove the story and indirectly make it a drawn-out fighting game. Much like Bujingai, some things are just better off in japanese. Jam it back in, in the dark.
