I think this is the one that Kilroy is talking about.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=-14MKb1WnmM It's pretty funny. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
The best fucking part is when the baby bursts right through the window. That had me on the floor laughing.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
Love it.

Alright, that commercial IS hillarious but I still think all these companies need to start making ads that show the consoles doing something. :P

Not sure if someone has posted this but here it is anyway, http://www.gametrailers.com/player.p...pe=wmv&pl=game
That's probably the best PS3 commercial I've seen, it like a science documentary and it communicates the technology of the PS3 really well, explaining the capacity of blue-ray, the power of the cell, AND showing actual gameplay. It's just really well done and very professional, i love it. How ya doing, buddy? |
Umm...I didn't see any gameplay footage. Isn't that just the regular old rubix cube commercial? Unless something's wrong with my computer...
Or are you talking about the ads that are on www.playb3yond.com? They have the ones that talk about the cell processor and the capacity of the blue-ray. They have more in development as well, so I check back there every once in a while to see if they have any of their new ones that are supposedly 'coming soon'. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |

Oh, sorry it's the one in that page called play b3yond-capacity. For some reason it linked to the rubiks cube one. yea, what you described is probably what i'm talking about. The play b3yond ones are brilliant.
How ya doing, buddy?

Right, so I finally got photos of that little clock trick in the XMB.
![]() Noon, it's bright and colorful. ![]() Evening, a lot darker. I think this was around 7 pm. ![]() Midnight, everyone is asleep. Source is my entry on playing F1, Lair, Ridge Racer 7 and the full version of Resistance. All in finnish I'm afraid, but at least you have the pictures. ![]() TANK! What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
Finnish. I need to learn that language.
Seriously, your blog is the most awesome thing on the intertubes right now. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Those little clips on the play beyond site are awesome. Thanks for sharing the link guys.
The rubiks cube ad is kind of random though. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
Isn't a review for Genji 2 like out already? Gamespot and IGN gave it a score of below 7. Pretty understandable since it's basically another hack and slash with puzzle solving, now in pretty visuals!

Wow, those look absolutely terrible. Seriously, usually Japan has the most vibrant and fun game covers but these are just stagnant D:
I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
Saw ads for the system and games in the FutureShop flyer today (naturally, all numbers listed are in Canadian dollars). Apparently they're only getting the 60GB version, and is retailing for about $660 (if I remembered correctly). You can also buy X-Men 3 Blu-Ray for $19.99 with it. The prices for the PS3 games are $59.99, which doesn't seem much (if any) increase from how much newly released PS2 games cost (bit of a relief, though probably subject to change with the likes of MGS4, FF13, etc).
They open at 8am on the 17th, most likely to be a line up that morning! What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
FELIPE NO ![]() - What we all do best - |
Visited the EB yesterday that I preordered the system from. Got it clarified that you don't need to pay it in full to absolutely get your system, just pay the rest when you pick it up on launch day. Also set in stone (preordered) my two launch titles, Resistance and RR7.
It was kind of amusing... the noob clerk to the experienced one: "Hey, do we preorder PS3 games?" "PS3?" "Ye-" "Of COURSE we do, let me bring up the SKUs" (To me)"Alright, that was Resistance and what again?" "Ridge Racer 7" (To exp. clerk)"What's the number on Ridge Racer?" "For what?" "PS3" *me shaking my head* Meanwhile there was some random guy in a suit returning FFXII, complaining that the battle system made him feel like he was watching a movie. And the experienced clerk agreeing, that she hated that. I had half a mind to step in, but thought I aught to just get my receipt and head out. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Christ, 7 days left. Where's Metal Sphere been?
Genji 2's score is expected, given that it's obviously a PS2.5 title. It seems set in stone that Resistence has zero chance of sucking, which is more notable news, but I'll be checking this sunday's ads to see if any of the stores will sell it slightly cheaper or offer a bonus. One thing I've been meaning to ask; even though the PS3 isn't offering any upscaling for PS1 and PS2 games (for now), wouldn't there be some sort of resolution boost if you're playing it on HDMI versus Component? Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
I'm hoping so, Soldier. Not resolution so much as better transfer to an HDTV. Especially since I'm playing with S-Video, I'd certainly anticipate a much better image when I switch to HDMI cables.
And yeah, expected Genji's score also. Same with Tony Hawk P8, though it's unfortunate that the PS3 version was totally skimped on. Guess they had to rush it to make launch, which seems to be a trend with launch games anyways. I'm predicting Resistance will be in the 9's, and RR7 in the 8's. Or high 7's if someone's feeling spiteful that the game plays nearly the same to other RR's. Zomg not next-gen enough! There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Don't worry, they'll make another Tony Hawk about 2 weeks afterwards...
And OPM already gave Resistence a 9. Another question; does anyone know how long the power cord is for the system? I'd like to decide in advance how high I can put the PS3 on my new shelf. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I saw the BestBuy flyer the other day, advertising the 20GB version for $550 CAD... I immediately remembered that I paid $500 CAD for my PS2 one full year after it had been released... If you factor in the inflation, it seems like the PS3 will actually appear to be cheaper than the PS2 was for the Canadian market... I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

I heard it doesn't upscale DVDs either. Would it have been that hard to throw in a Faroudja chip in there? Heck, Oppo's managed to deliver a top-dog of a player for far less than what Sony's asking for. BTW, here's confirmation of the presence of the EE+GS (Dragon) chip in the PS3, confirming the hardware based BC for PS2 games. Though it's been stated that older models would receive a firmware update enabling software emulation after they completely remove the chips from the machine. ![]() Here's another interesting shot from the machine's guts. It looks like it accepts 100V~240V, though there's been no official word on it (that I know of). ![]() The rest of these can be found here How ya doing, buddy? ![]() The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even.

Actually, one Sony PR guy (forgot the name) said DVD movies ARE upscaled. I guess you'll just have to wait and try it out yourself.

Have their been any reports of someone swapping the hard drives for a bigger capacity, third-party unit yet? IGN said they were working on it, but have yet to actually do it.
It seems easy enough to open the system from those pics, so I assume Sony won't put that "Void if Removed" sticker on it like they had on the PS2. How ya doing, buddy?
