On a side note, I like Fran's voice......I like everything about Fran. She is always the party leader and I never take her out of the party unless the game made her leave. She is my strongest character and my version of a black mage. I love the way she looks and I like her tanned skin. She is definitely my favorite character from Final Fantasy since Cloud in FFVII. I have to give it to her, in my view she looks better than Tifa.
On the other hand I really don't care much about Fran, maybe it's the tanned skin (ZOMG RACIST). I initially wanted to use her, simply because of aesthetic tastes, but now I think she'll end up as how Kimahri ended up in FFX, unused and unabused. LOL. I don't really like her voice that much, but it's no where as bad as Vaan "'I'M CAPTAIN BASCH ROSENBURG OF DALMASCA, KISS MY ASS MOTHERFUCKER!!".

I'll probably keep Fran as a reserve/spare should my main party fall, but keep her well levelled as well.

"BASCH LIVES"
I thought I would have some more mini missions like that. Would have probably been a little more fun, kinda like screaming at the gaurds, which wasn't fun but just for the hell of it.

I was actually wondering something about balthier (DONT READ if he hasn't talked about his past yet!)
Spoiler:
Balthier was a judge so I was wondering how his armor must have looked like, or maybe its the same armor as his brother's :/

I did like the minigame (despite it being so easy) of Vaan sneaking around the Palace going "HEY BUCKETHEAD" or something along those lines. I'm surprised the guards didn't freak out and slice him, but instead just told him to GTFO.

I never really got cought, is all they do is tell you to get out? Psh vaan could have taken them ~_~
I was wondering, the only song I like from the game so far is from the intro movie since it uses the ending theme of ffviii. Does anyone know the name so that i can get it or maybe just upload it really quick.

Well, maybe because they both have short hair, but the face is the exact same model as Basch (besides the scar on Basch and the mole on Gabranth) so I feel he looks a lot more like Basch.

Haha despite his crappy lines there, I liked doing those mini-games, if only to hear him say Bucket-head. I prefer him to Tidus at any rate.

I'm technically supposed to hate Fran though. I don't like seeing animal appendages on humans, which is basically what she is, but for some reason I can't seem to hate her.

I was speaking idiomatically.

The game so far is fantastic, just as I expected.

Great presentation, awesome and brilliantly narrated plot, very good graphics, lovely music. It's got everything I hoped for an ideal installment of the series. I find the battle system to be quite fun, regardless of the automated aspects. It's entertaining, potentially easy to master, but at the same time it can also provide a good challenge, especially when confronting the high-level hunts.

I'm currently about to enter Raithwall's Tomb, but I think I'll wait and venture towards Bhujerba. Bone Fragments sell for quite a lot and they're pretty easy to snag, so I suppose I'll be gathering some loot there in order to unravel the Forgotten Grimoire.

By the way, what Battle Speed did you set? I opted for the maximum available and I think it's the recommended choice for pseudo-realtime battles like these. I'm leaving it on "Wait", though, at least for my first playthrough.

I definitely wouldn't fight the first one. Just escape and fight the second one. It is much more easier since you'll have much more time to defeat it.

Yeah, the first one has TWICE as much HP as the second one, and is completely optional to boot. Skip, and just come kill it later.

I'm scared of going in there. ;__; I remember seeing a youtube video of a player fighting them, and not finishing in time .
Damn that thing gives me the creeps. I just read up that you should

Spoiler:
Get all your guys with full MP and mist quicken it, then cast beserk on your strongest melee guys and let them rip.

I tried using the Aerodome shuttle service to Bhujerbah, and I love it! Makes me feel like I'd like to try it. Everyone there is much nicer than the flight stewardess' service I generally receive when I'm flying. ;__;. LOL video games.

I got Ashe up to level 18, with 1000 hp, but the rest are somewhat behind. Fran is the lowest at 12 with only 450 some hp. I think I'll just skip it for now, but I can return to it later on when I'm at a mcuh higher level with better equipment, hopefully.

Inhert, looks like you and me are the same boat. By any chance, was it the story clerk that picked it for you or you did this yourself? Talk about superstitions.

I almost want to take my risks and GET another book, and keep the Vaan book in my archives or something. But that would just be too silly.

I made it to the tomb and am now at the South Passage. I got a headache after playing for hours, so I stopped :D The first Demon Wall is hella hard :/

The entire team is at level 20 now except for Ashe (19) and Penelo (11). I got some cool gear like the Blood Sword. Sap!

I got lost a lot in the stupid Sandsea area :/

Does anyone else love the Victory scene after defeating bosses? Well, the poses the characters use specifically. Awesome stuff.

Inhert, I got the Balthier cover. Back then, I didn't know that he'd end up being my current favourite character. Cool.

LOL, wow lousy luck for you both. Funny thing is that I didn't want my Basch cover, my eyes were set on Fran, heh, but I'll glady take him over the Vaan that seems so ever common now. The clerk picked out mine from the stack he brought in from the back storage.

Speaking of covers, anyone actually get a Fran?

Hantei, I'd SO trade with you in a heart beat, but too bad you don't like Vaan either. NO BODY LOVES THAT FAGGOT VAAN .

Inhert, that damn EB games guy picked it up from behind the counter. At first I said I wanted another one, and made an excuse that it was dented, but after that I reconsidered and thought perhaps he might have the magic touch and give me a good cover. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT. Superstitions only go so far.

Wolf: I did the Skeleton run for 5 hours.

I haven't even gone to whereever this damned TOMB is supposed to be, since I'm not up to being a Lara Croft for now. My party is:

Ashe - 1600 HP - lvl 19
Penelo - 1500 HP - lvl 19
Basch - 1100 HP - lvl 19
Balthier - 900 HP - lvl 18
Vaan - 900 HP - lvl 18
Fran - 700 HP - lvl 17

I focused mainly on getting those augment squares as they REALLY help you out, especially the "plus X hp" and the "swiftness by 10%" or something like that. Basically boosts up your action speed by quite a bit.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Ugh... 100k steps taken and level 24. I have almost all the quickenings unlocked.

For the quickenings, what has been your highest combo? I can't get over 12 hits, and that's only if I'm lucky. If I don't see a button appear next to a character's name, I'm pretty much toast because the shuffling and the smacking of buttons takes up too much time. Is there even a strategy to this? Am I dumb or does the guide not have any info on this?

I finally figured out how to get some decent gil, now it's just the tedious job of running back and forth and collecting items and selling it off slowly. Need to upgrade my armour and buy more magic, everything is so darn expensive.

Here's where I'm at: spoilers in case people don't want to know what area is coming up.

Spoiler:
I'm at the snowy mountain place, mt omisace after the jungle. That jungle boss was a bitch. Besides going around fighting skeletons for loot at this level, is there a better area to get some cash? I noticed the wolves at the jungle entrance gave nice pelts, should I head back there? I did a lot of running back to Rabanastre to try to get more money and do some hunts. I'm always broke though. Suggestions?

Man, and I thought I had it made. Your team has like, more HP than me, ranging from 600 to 800. How much damage are they doing? Vaan and Basch hit for over 400+, while the others hit for around 130-160. The tomb isn't hard for me, but a rare Lich monster (stronger than a normal one) managed to decimate my entire party. Now I fear I will run into it as I run around the tomb.

Even with a big headache, I still wanted to watch Digimon Savers (I Dled the latest ep). By the end of the episode, my headache was practically gone. Who would've thunk it?

My max hits for Quickenings is 7, which I suppose is pretty blah.

I was speaking idiomatically.
