Everyone needs to stop respecting Infernal Monkey (Beyond Good and Evil)

That fuckhead OWNS Beyond Good and Evil on PS2 and hasn't even bloody played it! In doing so he is effectively holding pure joy captive inside a blue PS2 case. It's like he's holding the game for ransom but doesn't even want money, just wants someone who missed out on it to suffer from not getting to play it!

I know what you're thinking; "Oh gee, Infernal couldn't be that much of a fuckwit could he?" but HE CAN and HERE IS THE PROOF! (scroll down to his post, look for the Bub avatar.)

So yeah I pinched my flatmate's copy of this game and it's incredible. It's just purely satisfying.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

That's awful. I have the Gamecube version and it was lovely, even though it took a hilarious 55 blocks to save =x

I'm thinking of looking up the Xbox version now that I have a huegbox.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'm sad. I bought it for $10, thought the first minute was awesome, and then after Jade faints, the game continually freezes to white at that point. I traded it in (for the same amount), and never bought it again. I should go and rebuy it some day. The discussion about an inconclusive ending deterred me from bothering.

Irony if you bought your copy back.

I have the game, but haven't invested enough time to engage myself in it. And I got my copy free on the PS2 from my cousin.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Played it rather far on the PC then my hard drive had to be wiped due to difficulties. I have yet to get back to it, but DAMN is that game good... =D There IS a sequel in the works, y'know. There was a thread. Around here or just before crash. I forget... Ah well. Here's the article. Take with a grain of salt if you're a pessimist.

The problem with a sequel. Is that being Ubisoft, they'll blame the games poor sales on the lack of swearing sex and violence and in a Warrior Within esque move, Jade will make a carear change from freelance Journo to freelance prostitute and has to severe the libs of her clients all the way to the top where she then seduces the empress of time.

Well whoever discussed it is a fucking moron. The ending isn't inconclusive at all, it provides a perfectly satisfying ending for the main story arc and then sets up a slight cliffhanger for a possible sequel. Even on its own it's far from inconclusive.

Christ, you people and your "oh but I don't want to be disappointed and would rather buy a special edition of a game I already own instead".

I downloaded it on PC and i regret not buying bcause this is one of the most touching and best adventure games i have ever played. If i would see it in a store i would buy it this instant. If it's any recent game that should be supported it's this and fahrenheit. The latter got good sales so support this .

How ya doing, buddy?

I bought this game for the PC cheap ($4.99 CAD), but I never played it. I was going to, but then I purchased other games that I wanted to play more, so uh, that's the story.

I don't know when I'll get the urge to play it, but I will eventually.

Fahrenheit Spoiler:
Fahrenheit went the way of Star Ocean: 'Till the End of Time in the end. All the Matrix shit REALLY pisses me off. The game was incredible until you got to the point where you found the girl. All the fight scenes got like wire-fu+DBZ shit. And one of the badguys turns out to be a computer that manifested itself. What happened to all the shit like voodoo or hexes? Went out the window. Well, I'm almost the same :P
I just can't enjoy Beyond Good & Evil. And specially on PS2, it's extremely slow framerate is killing me.

The PC version is the one that I think most people have stock in, and although it doesn't support gamepads normally, Joy2Key can fix that right up.

The Suffering and Beyond Good & Evil are the only two games that I have two copies of, one each for PS2 and PC. Believe me, it's worth the 10 bucks.

Off-topic, but nice Ippo sig =D

Still. Matrix-type twists piss me off. They aren't clever at all >< It's like busting out "I'm your father" all the time from bad guys.

If he doesn't have time to play, I'll forgive him. If the decision is out of choice, however.. sad.

Don't forget they brought in Jordan Mechner to make Sands of Time- he wasn't completely attached to Ubisoft. They made the sequel without his involvement at all. Ancel, however, pretty much kickstarted Ubisoft back in the day with Rayman. He has pull. Hell, he pretty much got the King Kong license for them.

Oh I had the time alright! I was completely burnt out on long involving games then though, despite buying it. But it was sooo cheaaaap look at these shooooes. So I figured I might as well give it away rather than have the dust build up on the case and eventually shatter from the weight. =)

Fahrenheit is fucking trash. It was like the first game I bought for my PS2 and I nearly threw the godamn thing out the window such was stupid game. I can't beleive you've just compared Beyond Good and Evil to that crap.
Another recap of why Farhenhiet sucked
Spoiler:
Basically it's something like the guy, I can't rememebr his name, he get's all these super powers and the oracle was the one who amde him murder the dude so he could find some girl so some orange guys could take over the world but then the guys ex girlfriend gets strapped toa rolelrcoster and they die but some robots bring the guy back to life and then the detective girl meets the guy and falls in love with him for no reasona nd then they find the girl and tellt eh robots they cant have her even though he owes them his life and then they go to antartica because the homeless people took him there, turns out they're invisible and control the earth and there tehre is some bullshit super powers and at some point the detective chick and the guy have sex and by this point i was literally screaming at the tv and thinking about how necrophilia is encouraged by this shody arse game while being blinded by detective chicks niples all over the screen while the guy smiles and I think the black guy moved to florida or broke up with his girlfriend YOU GET TO DECIDE WHICH CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE! and then the reward for using dragon ball sed powers on soem soldiers is that winter ends prematurely and the world is saved. ys the entire world depended on wethor or not some girl would be captured by either robots or some mayan god. Oh please.

Yeah you're right I spose. I'm just bitter that Ubisoft destroyed Mechner's creation. I mean we could all just pretend Prince 3D didn't exist but the current sequels just won't go away.
