How can I just have it set on one visualization and have it not switch to other ones randomly?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Press 'r' key when AVS is on to toggle random presets on/off.
It won't show any message, though. Unless you're running AVS in fullscreen.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
