Have you ever experienced Deja Vu?
Have you ever had a dream where you were in a certain place, certain things happened a specific way, and then later on in your life you were actually in that place, with those things taking place?
For instance, let's say you had a dream of visiting a store, and certain things happen a certain way, like say a friend that went to the store with you got a drink near the register, drank a little bit, and then put it on the counter to pay for it. And then later on you really are in that store, with that same friend, who takes a drink from the soda they just got, and then puts it on the counter to pay for it, exactly the same way as you saw in the dream. While no doubt dreams are things that have been studied for a while now, and it's very subjective (depending on who you talk to, they could interpret those dreams differently), it almost seems as if somehow you can sometimes almost "see into the future" with a dream. And that certainly qualifies as a Deja Vu moment when it does happen. So, have you ever had anything like that happen to you? And if so, how often does that seem to happen? I'm just curious if others have things like this happening to them. And as for myself, it comes to me randomly, and some are more memorable than others for some reason (I used to have quite a few when I was younger, then it largely stopped for a while, and now I'm having some of them again). But lately I've been seeing some pretty horrible nightmares and I'm hoping they're just nothing more than a series of nightmares (alien invasion of Earth in case you're wondering, and it's similar to something out of Independence Day, although I haven't watched that movie recently at all, but it certainly has vibes similar to the movie before the aliens attack. I bet that no matter what differences people around the world may have right now, the instant a hostile alien force makes itself known, people will settle those differences immediately. I wonder if this is a vague way of saying world peace will come in the distant future). Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I get it all the time, and I love it. I always make it a point to announce it to whoever I'm with, too. I say "just wanted to let you know, I'm having deja vu right now" and they usually tell me to shut up or that I'm gay, but they're just jealous

It's a glitch in the matrix! They changed something on you!
Well, in all seriousness I've experienced it. I don't know if it was something I dreamt and then experienced, but I met someone not too long ago that I knew too much about and I had never actually met them before... or so they keep saying. The setting and everything else also seemed so hauntingly familiar. Some things seem too strange to be coincidence. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() Allow the purity of evil to guide you... |
Yes I Have, Like I Would Dream ABout My Mum asking for chips or something, then the next day it would happen.

Yep, I had a dream that if I visited someone that I knew at the coffee shop that he owns, we'd end up debating religion. Next time I went there, which was only two days later, we ended up debating religion.
There's also another form of deja vu where I've been to a certain place before without knowing, but the next time I unintentionally come around the certain place, I get this familiar feeling that I was here before but just can't remember when. I was speaking idiomatically. |
I experience it usually in the afternoon when I'm sorta sleepy, and something that's done routinely, like checking email on my computer, and sometimes there's a "RE" message, which then I think to myself, haven't I already done this? I usually experience this maybe once a month, hard to determine exactly with which conditions.
There was also one time in English class where the teacher was talking about MacBeth, then the next day he was reviewing the same chapter, but I wasn't paying attention that he said "reviewing", so I was just jumped out of my seat and exclaimed "I just experienced Deja Vu!", making all 30 heads turn towards my direction, then a huge burst of laughter erupted out of everyone. Good times. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() - What we all do best - |
Very frequently. I'll be doing something totally mundane with friends and a conversation will take place, when suddenly I'll just say "what the fuck, stop, this has already happened". There was one instance when I actually finished someone's sentence for them and creeped everyone the FUCK out.

I think most people have. The other day I had a feeling of deja vu of having deja vu. That was weird.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I experience it all the time. I don't quite remember all the actual aspects of the situations, but I do have some sort of gut feeling that it seems familiar. It's usually not even the entire setting, sometimes, it's a single line that makes me stop and think about it, thinking that "This feels a little familiar" even though I can't quite remember exactly when or where I've felt that way. I'm not the kind of person who can easily recall dreams so I usually forget about what I dreamt about last night about 9:00 the next morning.

Yep, I get it very often as well. It sometimes catches me off guard, and other times it makes me feel more comfortable when the situation actually happenes.
Sometimes, its freaky because when you first feel it, you wonder how the heck you could have ever gotten into the situation to have a Deja Vu. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Yup!
But no Deja Vu like like food, people, cars or something like that - only the bad thing :| This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I get it all the time. At least three or four times a week. It used to creep me out something fierce, but I've learned to deal. I've got no dream memory at all, usually, but I've had times where I'll see something in a dream and know that it's more than the usual synaptic misfirings, and it'll happen within a day or two. For instance, there was a time where I saw a single image in a very weird, almost psychedelic dream, and the next day I was watching Bravo! Videos and there it was. Creepy!
I've got two conflicting theories on it. Either humans are capable of making unconscious predictions based on present and past events, or re-incarnation is a reality, and it is in fact possible to re-live one's life multiple times, to the point that one becomes familiar with certain events. Given the frequency of my deja-vu, and my very limited knowledge of quantum physics and the many-worlds theory, I think the answer lies somewhere in between. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Happened to me multiple times as a kid. It's really freaky. O_O

Whats the differents between a Deja Vu and a premonition? That's what I always asking myself.

People always laugh and tell me to shut up, but then I say things and they happen ![]() Serious though, I have this very odd thing indeed. Every now and again a random episode of a TV program will just float into my mind. Flashes of the show will float around and I wont be too sure what it is. It could be there for days, but as soon as I realise what show and episode it is, it is shown on telly that night!!! Used to really freak me out, I used to guess the episode of Friends, the Simpsons, South Park, even things like the news, I could guess what the news was gonna be, Cyber-ESP! I used to worry that I would develop abnormal powers and have to live in a house in the middle of wastelands and wait for years before someone comes to ask me for divine knowledge. I need help ![]() What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]()

All the freaking time. Sometimes its really cool and sometimes it can get to the point where it can really creep me out.
It depends on the date I had the actual dream VS the date when said situation actually happens - which kind of brings up the question someone brought up earlier about what the difference is between deja vu VS a premonition. I remember having dreams in college about some guy I didnt recognize whom I could never quite pinpoint - years later I remember sitting at his kitchen table and the freakiest wave of deja vu ever hit me when I suddenly remembered that dream and was living that very moment in my long lost brothers kitchen. :P Funnier moments have been among friends and having quick spurts of deja vu. I tend to take my dreams VERY seriously now ever since that incident with my big brother though because that creeped me the heck out. -_- Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
