Fundraiser Ideas?

My guitar teacher wants to plan a trip to NY this year for our class, but since it's going to be very expensive, we are going to have to do many fundraisers.

I know of the usual fundraisers such as car wash / bake sales, but I was wondering if anyone had any unique ideas for fundraisers. All we have of now is just doing concerts either for a fee or doing it for free and asking for donations. But that doesn't sound like it will bring in alot of revenue. If you've planned/been to successful fundraisers that would help to. Thanks.

Video game tournaments.

Everyone loves a good video game and usually has an expertise in a certain game. You could possibly make a certain amount go towards the fund and the other amount go towards the winners of the tournament.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Go to a bar, and have a fundraiser. Especially a bar that charges at the front gate. I know at my University, the on-campus bar allows for fundraising. It doesn't matter what's it for, it can be totally non-related to University... Just got to call them and book it.

You could look into something like that.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Have a raffle so people have to buy tickets. But make the prize cool, and semi-worth while...

We used to raffle off cakes when I was in school. I wasn't big on the cakes, but other people found it worth buying a ticket.

Or, hold a dance. Lots of kids like dances, just charge extra for it, and have a cool theme or something. Sell refreshments, too, and there's some extra money in your pocket.
