Well, Desmond looks cool, Sawyer looks rugged, Charlie looks evil and Kate looks hot. I'm happy.

Also, I guess this confirms that Eko, Locke and Desmond survived the EMP explosion.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I think there's a recap aka "clip episode" on tonight with Season 3 starting next Wednesday ::nooneishyped::.

LOST Experience ended and it pretty much turned out to explain the numbers and some other trivial but sometimes interesting things. A lot of people were disappointed with the ending. I was never following it in the first place because I got tired of trying to find all the easter eggs on flash sites, so I didn't really care.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

It was interesting to see what they focused on, and what they left out.

For example, what in the world did Sayid and Hurley and the whole "lime in the coconut" scene have to do with anything? It was really pointless. Does it mean something? Does it mean that the transmission they are hearing is really perhaps from another time? If it didn't mean something, it would have been weird for them to include it.

Also, even though they only had 1 hour in which to portray 2 complete seasons, they showed the "monster" twice. So, will it be back in Season 3?

Spoiler:

I guess this could be considered a spoiler? It will be most interesting to see if anyone "remembers" the magnetic hatch explosion, since they all seemed "loopy" in the last minutes of Season 2...

They said the monster would be back. It's interesting that they even included it at all because they've left it out of other clip episodes. I'd think they could spend one second just showing it, but that would be hard to fit into the main plot.

I thought the narration (that was Fake-Henry's voice, right?) was awkard. It was just poorly phrased and almost like a middle-schooler wrote it. I watched parts of it but I found it sort of ridiculous so I stopped. I was mostly bored.

I think what happened at the hatch will be revealed fairly early, maybe within the first few episodes. If I'm not mistaken one of the first few episodes deals, somehow, with
Spoiler:
Boone and Locke. Yes, somehow Boone is in an episode and not in a flashback. Presumably speaking from the dead, kind of like how Ana-Lucia and Yemi did, I guess
I don't know anything for sure because there have been a few foilers and changes lately.

I have a feeling that this episode is going to be awesome.

I don't know why anyone bothers with the clipshow.

And I guess I should read up on the Lost experience. At first I loved this idea, but then I realized that this will (more than likely) turn out to be what the Matrix tried to do. You know, having outside source material that is supposed to give you a better understanding of what is going on in the show, but ends up alienating 3/4 of the audience that have never seen it.

I have a good feeling about this season, but I just hope it still keeps my interest. I just started watching 24, and that has consumed most of my time and has prevented me from watching the entire second season on DVD.

Speaking of the second season, everything is so much better on DVD. Not only are you able to watch episodes back to back, but the quality of the sound and picture is amazing.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

True, but when I record the show (on VHS) so that, you know, I can watch it back to back, the quality becomes crap and I still have to fast forward through commercials.

DVDs really are the only way to watch TV shows for me now.

I'm really contemplating whether I should just skip the third season and wait for it to come out on DVD. Either that, or I'll have a friend of mine Tivo it and burn the episodes on a DVD.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

I didn't know people still really used VHS. You should invest in a recording device like a (hi definition) TiVO if you record television so much. I personally don't watch enough TV for it to make a difference.

I'm interested in knowing how many of this season's TV shows will be put on HD-DVD (or Blu Ray, whatever). I already mentioned that it would be cool for LOST to be on HD-DVD at The Fuselage's "Season 3 DVDs Wishlist" thread.

Lost is the only show I record. It's also the only show I actually watch on TV now (except for gameshows and the like).

Anyway, that Lost experience video about the numbers and what not seemed to reveal a lot, didn't it? I kind of wish I didn't see it now.

I wonder how they'll mention all of this in the show. Some of that information is pretty vital (especially the equation).

Well they alluded to the meaning of the numbers way back when they started mentioning the fictional-fiction author Gray Troupe and his book "The Valenzetti Equation". In one of the LOST websites there was mention of something along the lines of "what if a set of numbers could predict the end of the world?" at which point I kind of figured that's what the numbers were all about.

What's odd is that the numbers aren't really the equation but rather the result of the equation. I want to know what the equation is, if it actually means anything.

I'm wondering if the core values correspond to some aspect of nature? On the blast door map there are various inscriptions that say "CV I", "CV II", etc, which most people now think represnet "Core Value x". So what is so special about these areas of the island that they somehow have to do with a core value?

I'm interested in seeing how this plays out. DHARMA was supposedly created to change one of the core values, ie one of the numbers, and thus alter the fate of mankind. It makes me wonder if it's going to turn out that their effort to change their fate will ultimately lead them to it. Or if the fate can be changed at all. Maybe mankind won't really die out but something different will happen. Maybe they'll end up changing one of the core values doing something corny. Maybe all of mankind will die out except for the people on the island (bringing us back to that old "adam and eve" type of theory).

This is an example of how you can answer a mystery and leave the audience guessing but not frustrated.

I'm hoping Season 3 will be better than Season 2, but I'm wondering if a show can recover from a bad season. The only thing I can imagine making LOST excellent again is JJ Abrams writing all the scripts. (Seriously why can't he write all the scripts?)

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I thought all that stuff with Gary Troupe would just turn out to be a giant red herring. I guess I was wrong.

Isn't J.J. Abrams directing episode 7 this season? I agree that he should be more involved. His ideas can still be found, but I definitely miss his writing/direction (i.e. the first two episodes of Lost).

So far, I think only a couple of shows have been confirmed, and just for their most current season. I know Smallville season 5 is one of them, and The Sopranos Season 6, Part 1 is another. There's a few others as well, but those are the main ones I remember.

Got back from the early premiere a few hours ago. Wasn't sure where I should post about it...I figured I'd post in my journal to be safe, in case people didn't wanna be tempted to click on the spoilers within this thread.

The recap I wrote is a lot longer than I thought it would be :x

Here's a link to the pics that I took of the cast, though.

http://s90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...S3%20Premiere/

Overall, the ep was pretty awesome. Especially the opening. Threw me off at first, much like the opening to the first ep of season 2. Can't wait to see it at home on my TV where I won't be reminded by my aching feet that I have been standing and walking for 3 hours straight.

Man oh man. No discussion?

The opening sequence pretty much kicked my ass. Very well done.

This was a pretty damn good episode, but I wouldn't say that it tops the pilot episodes.

The opening sequence might have been the coolest sequence in that entire show's history. That threw me off SO MUCH.

The rest of the episode was cool, but a bit of a disappointment. I was hoping to find out more, but ah well. It was a nice set up. I'm interested to see what will happen to our friends over there with The Others.

The opening sequence blew me out of my seat. Damn.

However, a huge issue I had with the episode was the near-constant focus on Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Juliet, and Ben ("Henry"). I mean, come on. There are other cast members, you know. I suspect that they might've conveniently divided up the cast members into groups so that they could film parts of multiple episodes at once, but I found it annoying all the same.

Sarah? Bitch. I can't say I entirely enjoyed watching Jack become an obsessive man over Sarah's new squeeze, but Sarah was so cold towards him. "Look on the bright side: at least now you have something to fix."

The Others continue to baffle me. If they've got such a cushy set-up on the island, why antagonize these people who've been through more than they should in one lifetime?

Hey, at least next week's episode will be exciting.

Sun actually does something physical! Sun gets shot! Sun falls into the ocean! Yeah for Sun doing more than sitting around and moping!

Yeah, it was an awesome start. Only makes me more mad that we only get 6 episodes now, and the rest of the season in Feb. At least it's not like 24, where we get NOTHING until January (Although it's gonna have a 4 hour premere. OH SNAP.)

That opening adds all sorts of questions for me, so I can't wait for more!

Like a typical episode of Lost, we got more questions then we got answers, but still, it was a freaking great episode! That opening was one of the most surprising scenes in all of Lost, and overall it was just great to see how Jack, Kate, and Sawyer reacted in their respective situations (especially Sawyer, who was hilarious as always). I think the major focus on a few characters worked for this episode, but I still like regular, multiple character stories more.

This was definitely a great start to the season, and so far (based on the preview for next week) this looks like it's shaping up to be a great season.

I like how I have no idea where the direction of this show is going now.

At the end of last season it was annoying, but after tonight's episode it is pretty satisfying.

God, I just hope that they can tie together all the loose ends from the first and second season in a rational manner with all this new information. This show deserves a coherent conclusion when it finally ends.

It was boring. Handled wrong. It was okay, but as a premier, eh. This should of been the second episode of the season. There should of been something bigger and more mysterious between Jack's character focus on misdirected determination. The beginning of the episode had the right idea. Most of the episode could been from the others' perspective and flashbacks. Covers how the group is taken from point A to B and offers a peek at possible reasons why these people are doing what they're doing and how they ended up in the situation.

I mean, Jack's stubborn, I wasn't waiting all summer to have that told from me. The biggest thing taken from this episode is that Mr. Friendly is gay.

And how long was the running time on this episode? The amount of ads seemed stupid.

I like how this show is still overrated. Agree with Uzuki. Sure lets let the watchers know that they still will never get any answers, but more questions.

And the ending was NOTHING. Cool flashbacks I guess, but doesnt tell us anything, except that they know everything about them, which we ALREADY knew.
