New Cell Phone Question
Ok, so I just got a Samsung SCH930 phone, and I want to put some new ringtones on it.
I know it can play MP3's and I can probably use those as ringtones, but I have no idea how to do that, since I am uploading them through some Verizon Online site that transers it to my phone. (Bonus points if anyone knows how actually use the MP3 as ringtones). Anyway, I figured it would just be easier to use MIDI's. So, as luck would have it, when I find the MIDI I want, turns out its just too long to use in the Verizon Upload. Has to be less than a minute. I can't find a shorter version of this MIDI that I am using (Guiles Theme ftw). So, I am asking all you techies out there a few questions. 1.) Is there anyway I can use my MP3's as ringtones with this phone? If so, how? 2.) Is there a program out there that can shorten the length of MIDI's? If anyone could answer this, it would be greatly appreciated. ![]() Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]()

PSMplay (not to be confused with PSMplayer ~ Playstation Media Player) is a great little tool for trimming / modifying midi files and converting between midi / mmf (what most phones used for polyphonic ringtones before they just decided to use plain old .mid). Google is your friend.
How ya doing, buddy? |
Thanks Roph, I will try out that program and see if it works.
I have tried Google and searched for hours trying to figure out how to get MP3's to work on my phone, and I've even tried the actual forums of the phone. However, I can send a text message with the file, but it will not let me download it for some reason. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
I tried to make a search and help you but your cell phone model doesn't even appear on google, you should have typed it wrong.
Type the right model + MP3 ringtone tutorial and Google and it will help you out, I've done with many cell phones before. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Yeah, sorry about that Tawnee, typed in the model number wrong. I will try and google something similiar though and see if it works.
Edit: Turns out, I found out a way, however I need to somehow try and find a way and take a perfectly good ringtone that I made (taken from http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/204360 by the way) and some how turn it into a wav so that verizon can send it with this. (https://www.vtext.com/customer_site/...ssaging_lo.jsp) Problem is, wav files tend to be way larger in size, so it takes me all the way back to step one. Ugh. :eyebrow: I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
