Glad I could help.
![]() I've found red delicious tend to be kinda gritty or mealy without a whole lot of flavor, so I'll usually stay away from them unless I'm really hungry. I got into eating a lot of different types of fruit over the summer (farmer's market right down the street on Saturday mornings from where I Was living) and now the big problem trying to buy fruits that'll get ripe at different times. The past few times I've bought stuff from the local supermarket it's all gotten ripe with a day or two of each other and I had to gorge myself on fruit and then have a week of nothing. ![]() There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Crock pots? Those are those slow cooking things right? MAKE SOUPS AND STEWS!!!
How vegetarian are you? Are you the absolutely no animal projects kind, the milk/cheese/eggs are ok kind or the fish aren't animals either kind? Anyway, with some chicken stock you can make killer soups with chopped up potato, carrot, celery, pasta of choice and lentils. It's pretty filling. My mom makes it quite often. If you feel like a bit more effort, you can make cream soups. I can ask my mom for instructions for you if you want (PM me to remind me). For breakfast I recommend getting yourself some vanilla yogourt, bananas and granola (preferably honey coated granola with bits of almond like the President's Choice brand). Chop the banana up into bite size slices, add a decent amount of granola, cover with yogourt, mix and eat. It's healthy, filling and yummy. A glass of orange juice and a multivitamin on the side wouldn't hurt either. Your dorm is retarded though. Fire hazard. ARE THEY SERIOUS?! Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
Unfortunately, I don't have a crock pot right now, though I can probably borrow one from my parents. Actually, a crock pot wouldn't be a bad way to cook food given my schedule. I think that I could just start cooking something, go to classes, and it would be done around the time I got back.
And...well, I find it a bit hypocritical that the school lists toaster ovens as a fire hazard, but still allows people who live in the expensive kitchen-equipped dorms to use them. I guess that the university need to sell rooms in Mayflower dorm somehow, since no one would move in there otherwise...it's noisy, it's ten minutes' bus ride away from campus, and some of the rooms are really beat up. I have a few friends who live out there, actually. Some of them have pretty nice comfy rooms, but one of my friends got a really terrible place. It's noisy, the oven, refrigerator, and air conditioning are all broken, and her bed is right under a ceiling beam with one HUGE crack in it...kind of scary to sleep under every night! ...of course, this doesn't mean much unless you happen to go to Iowa, I guess...um...BEAT STATE! I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
