QFT. I've always found this fact to be extremely pathetic. United? (lol) in hate.

---------------------------

If lyrics are absolutely no obstacle for you, than I urge ANY black metal fan to check out Tvangeste. An absolutely incredible sounding black/symphonic band that for some reason has gone completely under the radar. Their last album was done with the Baltic Symphonic Orchestra (I think). They offer 3 or 4 free tracks on their website.

You obviously don't know much about the BM genre, if you think everyone is out to kill each other;just because of the Øystein/Euronymous murder ( which happened in part not due to who is the toughest and serious in the BM scene at all, but money related affairs ). Just because a murder happened among two members of a certain genre of music, that doesn't mean it reflects the entire genre, that is ignorance.

BTT, I like all genres of music, i just don't like certain bands. I also prefer Live boots over anyother form of recording as in today's musical world; production can turn any shitty band's sound into something catchy and so i find alot of records are just well-produced albums of garbage that the members couldn't play live in their lifes counted on it.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

The only thing that I don't like in music is high pitched sounds that go throughout the song. That's about the only thing.

I was waiting on those exact words to be said. I'm aware of the generalisation I was just making a point of the insane amount killings and suicides within the genre thats all, and we still (and will ever) only have Varg's story of what happened regarding the murder/manslaughter of Euronymous, and he could be talking through his arse.

Anyway, aruguement for another thread completely, sorry for the thread kid-napping!

I was speaking idiomatically.

1 killing within the black metal scene and a few suicides doesn't really stack up to being an " insane amount " does it?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

I'm going to have to second this.

What I find funny, is that when something happens in metal (black or death, in particular), it's glorified and made into something it's not.

OMG I KNEW THIS MUSIC WAS EVIL LOOK SOMEONE DIED OVER IT!!!

The dude from the Beatles was BRUTALLY FUCKING MURDERED GRR DEATH METAL

We all know how fucking brutal and spine shattering their music is.

More than one killing mate, a fair bit more. I mean by members in the bands on other people not on each other, jesus I didn't mean to start up an arguement about it.

Ah now come on man, lets take for an example the guy from Dissection who commited suicide a few weeks ago, this act was done sensationally, it was reported on sensationally. When so many people within a certain scene do something along the lines of this its obviously gonna get the name for itself that it has now.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

But killings made by people like Faust was done on their own time and not directly related to the BM scene, what your saying is absolutely stupid; it is like saying that all 60's folk music should be considered part of a murderous cult simply because Charles manson dabbled in the genre and some prominenent folk singers like Phil och's commited suicide.

It is stupid to pigenhole a genre of music, simply on the act of a few.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Of course, I made have no intention of pigeon-holing at all, i'm well aware the killings were on their own time but it changed the face of them in the BM scene and reflected on how others view it. The Black Metal persona pigeon-holes itself, its the guy with corpse paint on, brandishing knifes for album covers and magazine photoshoots. I'm of course not talking about all BM bands but some.

I agree with you, I shouldn't have generalised but I couldn't compare the likes of Mr.Manson to any other 60's folk artist becuase he was the only one I know who murdered someone (i'm sure there's others). But the likes of Varg, Faust and I guess Ghaal to an extent would be easy to compare on the scale of what they did, if that makes sense

I don't like:

Rap

Bands with members who all have nicknames themed with the band (i.e. Avenged Sevenfold's members are M. Shadows, Synyster Gates, Zachy Vengeance, Johnny Christ, and TheRev. I got those straight off the official band site). Can you get any cheesier than that?

Bands who lack any sort of melody whatsoever, like most metal bands who would rather just headbang for an hour on an album. I can't sit there and listen to a whole album of that (Metallica anyone?). If a song comes on the radio, I'll listen to it. If they're playing a show with other bands I like, I'll go. But their albums just sound like the same song on repeat.

Bands who put looks over music, i.e. Slipknot, Gwar, Kiss, and most emo bands. Kiss had some okay tunes, but admit it, had they not had the makeup and stage antics set up, they wouldn't have been nearly as huge.

Hawthorne Heights. Sorry, I can't think of a particular thing I hate about this band because I just hate every single thing about them. "SO CUT MY WRISTS AND BLACK MY EYES!!!!". That set the emo genre back about a decade or so.

Bands that are too experimental for their own good. My friend introduced me to a band called Sunn O))). He told me I would like them, so I downloaded an album. The whole album just sounds like they strum the guitar, put it in extreme slow motion so that one strum lasts about a minute and sounds really evil and satanic, and they have the Cookie Monster yelling in the background. That's not even music!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

RAP.

Growling lyrics

cursing and profanities. Theyre cheap.

Dialogs (as in soundtrack OST releases)

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?
