I hate people.

If I had a penny for every time I heard this...

Look. Life isn't always fair. There are good times, and hard times. What YOU need to do is simply get on with your life. Just because a set few people piss you off is no reason to hate all of humanity, and calling humanity a bunch of selfish people is a low blow.

Do you know everyone in the world? No one does. Most people hate "everyone" because they generalize everyone based on a few rotten apples.

My advice on the matter? Stop worrying. As you said. People are fighting over petty subjects. You're getting angry over petty results from the people you know. Continuing down this path will lead you to a life of secluded living.

Think about it for a while. Is it really THAT bad? Unless everyone you know and love is a mindless idiot that can't tell the difference between a pig and a cow, I seriously doubt humanity is that bad.

I can tend to think the same way that you do. Frankly, you can COUNT on people letting you down, and failing you when they should have come through.

To me there are a couple things that counter this.

First off, if you are too nice (I've been accused of this) the contrast between how you treat people, and the way they treat you may seem too great. I setup for myself a long time ago, a system of thinking that has kept me sane. I choose not to hold people's hurtful mistakes against them, unless they choose these mistakes intentionally for the purpose of hurting me or others. In other words, ask why did they do "x"? If the answer is they wanted to get "y" and didn't mean to hurt me (like collateral damage), then I give them a forgiven ticket in my mind. If you ask why they did "x" and answer is that they wanted to hurt you or others, then give them no mercy. Let them know what you think of them and generally sever any future contact with them. Their is difference is between "mistakes" and "selfish" and "malicious" being that malicious is the one to get pissed about.

Secondly, I heard Bono in an interview recently saying that 'grace is the one thing that is most difficult for us (humanity) to grasp'. But really, this and love (which grace is based out of) is the only redeeming factor for humanity in general. I mean nowhere else in life can such a counter be seen. Every action causes a reaction, but with grace, a specific action can be responded to with something completely undeserved. I suggest trying this out. It can help greatly with feeling that you are affecting society for the better. Giving back better than what is deserved is what the world needs most. Remember, true justice would screw us all, but grace gives us all a new chance.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Lee-chan, I feel the same way. Especially now, from my best friend.(I'm not sure she's my best friend, anymore.) I pass her SMS & phone calls which she doesn't answer. I don't even know why she's mad at me, she doesn't want to say, or answer in this case. Makes me mad at her so much more, since she knows that I'm alone right now (with no parents.) & still she act this way!

Well I can see what you trying to say over here & I also agree to some of it. But I'm sure that Lee-chan didn't meant that about all people, as do I.

I was really misanthropic when I was younger, couple years before going to university. However, once I accepted that people as a whole generally suck and cant be trusted, coexistance became easier. By accepting it, I stopped focusing on it, and was able to see more than just it. And since I had accepted it, I didn't really think about it... and as such... it sort of faded away.

With the proper choosing of friends, and selective weeding out, people really aren't so bad. That is, assuming you distance yourselfs from the ones that are.

I don't think its really that most people dont care. I think its more than most people think, "Well, what can I do about it, I'm just one person". Or so I'd hope at least. Anyone who doesn't care... should be maimed.
